Hello Sir, I don't to intrude but I was just thinking that if you don't have much need of the iPad air anymore, if you might consider helping me out with it. It will really help my RU-vid channel creation process as an African faith based content creator. I currently do my work out of an android smartphone. What do you think sire. Thank You.
I'm in looooove with the format of this video. I really don't understand specs and numbers, but seeing it in USE is so helpful. Seeing someone actually writing on it, how his hands look, where his hands rest when writing - these little things are so important but looked over often
subscribed because you are the only one who noticed that a smaller screen wouldn't matter in web browsing as they would show same content as the bigger ipad models!
My original iPad is second generation so I waited a bit to upgrade. My original still works ru-vid.comUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA , but the battery is bad and won't stay charged so it always has to be plugged into a power source. The new 10th generation was a great bargain for Prime Day that I couldn't pass up. It was easy enough to set up: everything came down from iCloud with no issues.
Wow, man, this is one of the best technology gadget reviwes I've ever seen. You show exactly the practical aspects instead of going over specs and stuff which thousands of youtubers already did. Big respect
I’ve only used the iPad mini 6 for a day and note taking during class felt great. I was worried at first cause of it’s smaller display but it was good.
Good luck with those ugly black bars during a movie watching session. The tab is already tiny, and if u cant get a full-screen experience, its a deal breaker. All iPads have this problem. If u zoom in, a lot of the content on the sides get cut.
I’ve been happy using the iPad Mini 5. I might upgrade. I have been using this iPad more because of its form factor. I take it everywhere, I do work, read books, and because it’s so light you can take it everywhere.
I have the iPad Air 4 and I have also noticed that using it for browsing the web, streaming shows and movies, and even social media just seemed to be little odd due to the large size of the screen. The iPad Mini is a perfect size that is easy to hold and use, while getting more space than your phone.

This man’s lighting set up is absolutely gorgeous. With that said… I went from wanting the biggest iPhone and the biggest iPad to getting the iPhone 13 Mini and wanting the iPad Mini. One-handed use is highly underrated.
Split screen in vertical mode isn’t enough space for a handwriting app like Notability, but for reading, typing, and copy-paste, it often fits more content than landscape does (because more lines matters more than wider lines). It’s not pretty, but it fits more.
Terren, you're a gifted presenter. Good work, man. I've been using my iPad mini 6 since it released and I find that I no longer use my big 12" iPad pro. This goes everywhere and does everything I need a tablet to do. Thanks for the walkthrough and tips. This saves a bunch of time.
Good luck with those ugly black bars during a movie watching session. The tab is already tiny, and if u cant get a full-screen experience, its a horrible deal breaker. All iPads have this problem. If u zoom in and try to fill out the screen, a lot of the content on the sides get cut. The Tab S7 is the perfect Mini tablet with the correct 16:9 aspect ratio. Perfect for reading AND media consumption. Dont worry about tablet optimised apps. U wont end up using that many anyway. Choose wisely.
I so agree with you on this video. I just traded my 12.9 IPad Pro for a new MacBook Air. It just became far more comfortable to grab my mini vs my 12.9. After getting my mini I really never used my bigger iPad anymore.
I’m getting my iPad Mini 6 tomorrow! 🥳 You are so underrated. Your videos are just on point and very informative. Unlike other RU-vidrs who just talk about specs and comparisons. Love your videos!
I bought the Mini 6 and you demoed all the things that make it why I purchased it, bravo :) - The ease of the keyboard, the attraction to the display, the almost phablet like nature of it compared to my 9.7 iPad Pro. I use my bigger one as a drawing tablet but the mini feels like the companion to my phone XS Max and the allows the ease of just picking it up to web browse, to shop, to watch videos, to hold without straining hands, to read, to listen to music to sync with speakers, to learn and play. I’ve never more been attracted to the iPad mini other than this model. I did buy a Mini 4 a few weeks ago to get the feel of using it as an addition to my phone and I enjoyed it but I still felt I needed a e-reader like display and then I made the change to a 6 and I feel much more immersed in it that just my Mini 4 as a reader as I feel it’s super powered in a smaller volume which it is.
The iPad Mini usability as an infotainment centre is a major reason why I bought this thing today. I have zero regrets about buying this thing today. It's going to be put into major use. Plus, I'm transferring so many notifications and daily app usage to this device, my phone better last for weeks; j/k aka much longer.
Most reviews don't seem genuine anymore. It feels like most reviewers don't test the product but quickly list a bunch of specs and say they don't like the product that isn't high-end and make a positive reviews about the most expensive technology and variations that very few people can afford just for views. But really this was the best review of this ipad I've came across that now i can finally make the decision about investing in one or not. Good job 😍❤️❤️
Great video. I loved the early Mini’s. The iPads have been able to “scale” between their sizes for years. The critics started with “The iPad is just a big phone” on day one. Apple really pressed developers to make apps specifically for iPads as well as phones. Once developers produce an iPad app, Apple technology is somehow able to expand and contract the various image sizes without that early iPad experience of tiny image surrounded by space or grainy, magnified iPhone interfaces. The same beautiful image on the iPad 12’9 is on the regular iPad. There are still “iPhone apps” you can use on the tablet and you can tell the difference. NOW, Apple must figure out how to scale the iPad in a computer display.
Yeah! I definitely was not aware of that, however I have only ever owned one iPad so that explains it. And yes...iPads scaled to a 4K monitor would be a dream
Yeah, they should release something similar to samsung dex that turn your device into a desktop when connected to an external display with resizable windows
I love my iPad Air 4 but I also love the form factor of the iPad Mini! Honestly, if my use case didn’t require the size of the iPad Air, I would switch to the Mini since I especially love how powerful it is for its size!
Great video about how you actually use the iPad mini on a daily basis. I wonder if you got the 64gb or the 256gb version because the price difference is too much to justify the extra storage that I’ll never need. However, 64gb does sound tight on a long term if ever I want to store more stuff… I really wish Apple made a 128gb version…
I use my iPad Pro 11 as my main computer, but the other night as I was reading in bed and as I drifted to sleep, my iPad Pro 11 slammed into my sons head who was sick laying on my chest lmao don’t judge me! Ordered an iPad mini today, I read ALOT so excited to use this to read!
My currently most used app in my iPad Mini 2 is Marvin Classic, it's an ebook reader. Mini is so much lighter that it is nice to use one handed vs. the bigger iPads I have. Since the Mini 2 is somewhat slow these days, I'm going to upgrade soon.
I just went from an iPad Pro 12.9” to the 11” and I love the portability, but as my main device the mini would be too cramped for my productivity needs. I’d also really miss ProMotion and thunderbolt.
Thanks for the video. This is the only iPad that has any interest for me. I have a M1 Air and there is too much overlap between use cases with the larger iPads. This, by virtue of its form factor, has so many potential uses where the iPhone is too small and the Macbook is too inconvenient. It's not a necessity, but it is something that can improve your (technological) quality of life. You can use / take it pretty much anywhere.
I was doubting my online order until I saw the mini in stores and held it-so light, comfortable and just a great viewing experience. Can't wait to get it late Oct!
Thanks for this review. I hardly ever used the 12.9 Pro because it was so big and heavy to lug around and just awkward to use. I just received the mini 6 and absolutely love it!! It's the perfect size to watch videos and and for the various apps for work, especially One Notes for note-taking. I just called my friend to come pick up my 12.9 Pro. 😁
I’ve had 2 iPad Minis in years past and every time about 6 months in and the newness of the form factor wears off I find myself wanting that bigger tablet real estate. I went from the iPad Mini 4 to the iPad Air 4 this past year and I’m absolutely loving it! Please man don’t make me buy another Mini 😂
Aww. Same here. I’ve bought iPad Air just month before they came out with new mini(that I’ve lost hope they gonna ever relese). I’ve skipped iPad mini 5 waiting for 6. I loooove iPad air bigger screen, but man, the portability is a huge issue for me (after years having minies) so I ended up ordering new mini as well :D And there is high probability I’ll keep both of them :D Apple got me there.
@@wginny …. Same here! I traded the iPad Mini 4 for the iPad Air 4 last year, and now that the new iPad Mini 6 is out, it’s calling out to me….in the Starlight color!! 😍
I totally agree with all your iPad mini usage. I’ve just got the new mini 6 and love it. I really don’t know now when I will use my iPhone Pro Max except to take photos and make phone calls as for everything else the iPad mini is better. I had a great video chat with my son yesterday while lounging in bed no problems holding the iPad mini for an hour conversation. Seeing him a lot better than I would on an iPhone. Another use I have for my iPad mini is flying my drone. Perfect for that use. I’m delighted with the new device - perfectly supplements my 12.9 inch iPad Pro in situations where that is unwieldy to use.
Fantastic video man. So hard to find videos of the Mini with people actually USING and demoing the device in good quality! Also interesting point about the amount of information displayed at 1 time on both the Air and Mini...did not even think of comparing that.
Subscribed because it’s helpful to see a user perspective instead of just stats. I had the first mini and then went to an Air 2 which I still use and does what I need however security updates can’t last much longer. I considered all available iPads and due to cost vs storage was planning to go pro 11 but then I saw the mini this weekend and realized, like you, it would meet 90% of my usage. But, again storage is an issue to future proof it and that moves it closer to the pro 11 so now I’m torn again.
In my experience, I’ve never had an issue with watching videos on the Air paired with the magic keyboard. I like the size. If I were still a student, I would probably liked the mini for taking notes in class.
Another advantage of the smart folio cover is in portrait mode by folding it up in the “stand” format you can use it as a hand hold rather than having to spread your hand out wide to hold the iPad.
Thanks for this video! It is very informative! I heard a lot of useful information in this video, which interested me very much, because there are so many opinions about this tablet.
And I’m watching this video on my iPad mini 6. To me it’s by far the best iPad ever it’s extremely portable it’s so easy to take everywhere you go I can throw it in my purse or in my bag. Now I’m a huge iPad fan in general we have both the 12.9 inch pro and an 11 inch pro in the house also and they’re both great I mainly keep the 12.9 inch pro in my kitchen I have all my recipes on that I’m cooking it’s just right there if I wanna watch a TV show while I’m cooking dinner it’s right there, but the portability in the ease of use of the iPad mini six is just absolutely incredible. I had a first generation iPad mini and loved it and it literally finally died last year so it worked that long I want to say at least seven or eight years. I got an iPad mini five loved it but then when the six came out I had to get it. It’s just that awesome
I want it for reading. I got the kindle and is nice and everything but it's not my kind of device. I tried the Kindle app on the iPad and that is a better experience, but reading in bed at nights is a nightmare because the iPad is too big and uncomfortable to hold for long sessions. I wast tempted for the mini a few months ago but I wasn't thrilled by the old design and specs. So the rumors were right and I'm in. This little iPad will be my next christmas gift for myseflf. Really cool video.
Thank you. This review helped me to make up my mind, I was so hesitating btw the mini and ipad air haha. Now I definitely confident to make my decision to the Ipad mini 👍
The candid feel of the video was really refreshing! I bought the first gen iPad mini and looooved it. Until iOS 7 when it got laggy immediately (thanks A5). Never found an iPad that stuck after that. This one is SCREAMING my name! The practical uses that you shared really helped- I gotta sub! Cheers mate! 🥂
You got one more subscriber , I had watched several videos on the topic , yours is by far well explained , especially saying it's good to watch videos , I was searching for those words from somebody other than myself
A great review. This convinced me to go back to the mini. I had the old mini & went for a regular iPad for a couple years but it just didn’t seem as fun to use so going to get it
Best review I've seen hands down. I was looking for how much the experience would be compromised coming from a bigger iPad. Kind of if it's a bigger iPhone or just a smaller iPad with everything scaled down. I'm glad the latter seems to be the case and you get the full iPadOS "desktop" experience without missing out on much except screen size.
I will do hard work on it as a desktop computer w. external display, keyboard and mouse. Recently discovered how well that works, when you don’t need special apps.
I also watched a lot of videos about the Ipad Mini but yours was awesome especially for the form factor or versus you made between the iPad and the iPhone
I bought an iPad Mini Cellular 8 years ago. I did not like it for browsing - I use my 14" laptop for that. I use my Mini almost exclusively when I travel for the following: #1- as a GPS unit in a vehicle - the best GPS ever! #2 - as a Sidecar or mirror screen to view video a/w my laptop on the road #3 - & as an eReader Overall these years that is about all I have used the mini for (I don't game) I will likely buy the new Mini 6 as my old one is on its last leg.
I agree with the other comments, I love that this video just talks about real use with the iPad instead of a bunch of specs I don't understand! I just want something to work on, make videos, edit photos, and try to get my business going. I don't really mind if it's the best of the best, it just has to be good. Also we have the same name! But mine is spelt Taryn 😊
amazing review! thank you for including the differences with the iPad Air, I've been struggling between the two but you've convinced me! an enjoyable, wonderful, and practical video!
So….. I still have the iPad Pro 11 from 2018, and I will tell ya that this has been going strong. Ive had the iPad Mini for a few days, and I keep going back to the 11 Pro due to the screen and speed. Editing video using LumaFusion is much better on the 11 Pro. Reading is better on the 11 Pro, and the Mini has some weird motion issue when scrolling through text. I have always thought my 11 Pro was portable for my needs, so I will be returning the Mini, as for my needs, it is a little over priced for the 256gb.
weird. the a12x in the 2018 iapd pro lineup should be much less powerful than the a15 in the new mini . And the a15 should be plenty powerful for any app on ipados normally apart from like really heavy renders... And as for scrolling, it just comes down to pro-motion the 11inch iPad pro...
@@TerrenRule hey man I don’t have any iPads I just have two pc laptops for work. I have a iPhone 11 that I use 80 percent of the time for watching RU-vid and doing 75% of homework. I want something I can’t lay down on my bed and use like my phone for homework and just Facebook and a watching Netflix and RU-vid. I’m torn between the iPad Air 4 and mini 6. I had a iPad Pro 2nd gen last year which I sold in a matter of months become I really couldn’t use it on my bed to watch videos just too big. I’m also torn between upgrading to iPhone 13 max. So I basically have 3 choices , mini 6, iPad Air 4 or bigger phone , what do you think I should get between those 3 and remember I have a iPhone 11 as well.
I usually don't comment or like videos that easily (no no not bragging 😉) But this one is super cool and close to my usage rituals. Nice one mate. Keep going 🙌
@@TerrenRule sure buddy! And just curious... 1. What's the reason behind naming your channel "Terran rule"? Inspired by guardians of galaxy? 2. I searched for videos comparing ipad mini 6 against iPad pro M1 11 inch. Don't find any such stuff in entire RU-vid. If possible try making one comparing them. (just a suggestion. Pls don't waste time if the search volume is low) Thanks mate
