I know! This person is one of my favourite artists to watch. Even though I am white, I still think it’s awesome that she includes more variety of races.

Seriously. All over Instagram you just see white women with blonde hair and like, do you! It’s your preference to draw that! but it’s sooo refreshing seeing black girls and boys on my TL

yes ikr, i love her diversity in her art bc most white ppl who are artists such as myself, don’t include dark skins or even black ppl at all, and i love drawing black women and i never understood why white artists only draw white ppl, and it’s good to see a black artist including many races, the diversity is perfection

A good thing is to add shades and highlights to your drawings. You can search up references and study where the shades and highlights should be.

Hi! To shade your characters use any colors you’d like but black and select multiply mode for the layer If you want to give your drawing more depths think of it as a reel painting! Put the colors you think right where you want to ad volume and blend it together. If it still feels off, then maybe the colors aren’t the ones or you might have blend it too much (it is really hard to explain it in a comment but you’ll figure it out by trying ^^) The white in our eyes is never really white but more in a grey-ish tone with highlights. There is also a shadow casted by our lashes. That’s why artists usually tend to draw the top of the inside eye and the iris darker. However, for both lips and eyes ( and everything in general ) you can study references to understand better how colors work together in those areas, highlights and shadows... This is my personal way to do it, it’s sure not the best but I hope it helped you a little

@@user-pm5ks1nx3d Yep! I'm extremely satisfied with them :) If anything, I'd suggest an iPad Air instead of an iPad 8 like I got, because it really makes a difference, but if you're considering the iPad 8 it is still worth it if you cannot afford the air :)

I started out drawing cartoons, my art was very stylised and very wonky lol. But the more I pay attention to how bodies (for example) really look, it makes it easier for me to “simplify” them when I draw and have it still look good 💕

@@romeISdead huge tip! Practice realism if you want art to be more then a hobby- or just to be better formed in general. If you practice cartoons and eventually want to branch out (everyone does eventually) you’ll be missing a lot of the important rules. I was told the same thing and didn’t listen when I was younger! Now I struggle!
