It depends I like the power of my MacBook Air m3 however I love how creative I can be when I go on my iPad with the magic pencil. I would still choose the Mac because off the bigger screen size and the MagSafe charger
Personally I used more iPad for entertainment and Mac for work. But I think that for students an iPad with stand cover with keyboard is the right choice but if you look at the price iPad + keyboard and pencil is more expensive than a MacBook with keyboard integrated (and no pencil).
iPad is a device that stole my heart. When I last went to Japan, I used my iPad Pro for so many things: watching shows, using apps and games on a long-ass flight, booking hotels, sending emails, etc. I still think Mac is better for getting serious work done but the iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard and Pencil is a damn versatile device. If I had to pick one, iPad Pro all day!
Hey, so I was wondering if it's any good for writing papers? I recently went into Best Buy, and I was looking at the MacBook and iPad Air pro they had on display (which is also on sale where I am right now, which is another bonus), and the MacBook looked so insufferably dim compared to the iPad? The man who was helping me said the iPad runs just like a MacBook, and would be just fine for college work. Would you say this is true? I'm a new student and can only afford to buy one or the other right now, so I'm a little scared, lol.
@@Pencil-q3xthe MacBook is stronger and Can handle bigger/harder stuff. But what you Can do is buy the ipad and later down the road buy the Mac mini. That Way you now have both a Mac and ipad and both portable you Can use the mini with the ipad screen when you need a macbook and only the ipad when you need the ipad
I’m a senior in high school, and for the past three years, I’ve been using a MacBook Air for my schoolwork and some basic editing on my iPhone. But when I got an iPad Pro M4, everything changed. I now use my iPad Pro more than my iPhone and MacBook because it can handle everything I used to do on both devices, and I don’t need to use a lot of notebooks since I can use my iPad instead. I’ve even set up my MacBook as a desktop, and my iPad has become my main device for editing and schoolwork. 2:08
Finally someone who understand the idea of iPad Pro. I have iPad and MacBook and I think that iPad is just quicker and more pleasant to use for simple tasks
What you kinda forgot to mention is that cheaper versions of the iPad exist. You only compared the iPad Pro but there are also people that neither need pro apps like final cut or a window based multitasking system (stage manager) and just need a very basic computer for Webbrowsing, Email, PDF and note taking a around 400€ base iPad could be a great option maybe even as a chromebook alternative. Prices that low aren’t possible with MacBooks.
Macbook everyday. To not have access to mac features and mac apps sounds miserable. But for note taking and non power users, Ipad is prob the best choice. Great vid as always, keep it up :)
I own a MacBook and an iPad, I love the iPad and use it everyday. I bought a magic keyboard for the iPad last week, I thought i would try use the iPad only, but after like 5 minutes I wanted to throw it out the window. The keyboard it self if great, I actually like it more than the macbook keyboard. But it was just small things like three finger click didnt work, i couldn’t copy from ChatGPT and my text books (?!), and it just felt laggy when I edited text. I found work arounds but it wasn’t worth it so I returned the keyboard. I’m lucky to have both but if i could only have one it would be the macbook because it feels more trustworthy. But I love the iPad the most. My workflow will be using my iPad for lectures and studying (writing mind maps, reading, watching videos) but if i need to write an essay i turn to the macbook. Also we write our exams on computers and i don’t think the safe exam software works on the iPad. :)
How about doing a what's best/buying guide for the common person? For us who need a laptop/iPad for everyday life....checking emails, office work, browsing the web, watching movies, social media etc. ☺
Than the ipad is a good choice but school wise. The Mac is the better options as the school Can have softwares you need to have and often only computers can do that
I’d go for the Mac even though I really love the iPad because it’s got a keyboard and a mouse built into it. I say this because I used an iPad for school and I didn’t like the experience I went through while using it
For note taking I’d suggest notability as it’s very beginner friendly and easy to use. I also suggest notion to keep up with schedule and keep ur self consistent and motivated. These two apps are really useful but after all it’s a trial and error, it depends what u like
First of all, I really enjoy your videos. You have a very unique style of editing your videos especially your intros. That aside… Yeah I own both iPad Pro 11 and MacBook Pro. Even tho my iPad has M2 and MacBook M1, I feel like Mac utilizes more M1 than my iPad using the M2. I’ve tried several times to replace my MacBook with iPad but every single time I go back to MacBook. I think I’m the only one who will say that when it comes to getting work done, the MacBook feels more intuitive than the iPad. macOS feels like home to me. While iPad doesn’t feel like that. I’ve tried to use google slides on iPad’s safari but man that’s a lot of pain in the back and the same goes for graphic design (even tho pencil is great for it), file management and everyday to day tasks. Now, my iPad is mostly used for gaming that’s all. I think if people need an iPad but they love the Mac then they should go for iPad mini because the mini won’t give you the thoughts of replacing the Mac but will act like a companion device like an iPhone.
I have to have both. But I really want to work my way up to all specced out MacBook Pro M4 max for video editing and graphic design and photo editing for school. Getting three majors. One of which is social media strategies. I want the 2 TB iPad Pro but 512 is good for right now. I have the pro in 512. I would get 8TB on my Mac
I used the M2 Max MacBook Pro in school and it wasn’t worth it. Very heavy, annoying, slow etc. I’m in college now. Got the iPad Pro m4. It’s great, So much quicker, lighter, like an iphone
iPad Air doesn’t have the pencil or touch. So for graphic design… is there really any other option than an iPad for graphic designers, artists or anyone who creates ON or WITH the device.
What if I get both? I just gave away my ipad to my sister and still have the mac. Should I wait for the new Ipad or just continue with rhe mac itself. FYI I am pursuing my Masters in Marketing
