Hi Beth! Thanks for the video. I liked the comparison though it is not fair. You should have picked the same quality level of Okiocam. The one you used is their basic one. The one which can compete against Ipevo vz-R is this one and actualyy has better features and cheaper. Hey Elsayed! Yeah, I see your point of view. In this particular case though, both companies sent me these specific cameras after I had reached out to them, so I was super grateful. Yet, I loved the fact that they were so different because it allowed more people to see what they would be getting for different price points. After over a year of making this video though I still use both cameras regularly.

Thanks for posting this omnibus review. The side-by-side comparisons were especially helpful. Do you recall if any of these document cameras allow one to view an entire 8.5 x11 inch sheet of paper in portrait mode, and NOT landscape mode? Most of the reviews I have seen show landscape mode, but for solving math convoluted problems (or emulating analog acetate transparency sheets) landscape mode is sub-optimal.
I can check for you when i get home. I think yes though, because you can adjust the camera by rotating it. Then you should adjust your camera view settings to fit. I'll check later though. Thank you for watching and your comment!
@@BethGatzaArt Wow, thank you! If I may ask, do you recall if the stands are fairly immune to someone kicking the desk and thus jostling the camera? My current set up uses a webcam strapped to a micro-phone stand with a very heavy base so it is immune to jostling. However, I have to flip the video in post-production so the images appear right-side up.
Hello there, @ProfBoggs! Apologies for the delay in my response - my family fell ill and it caused a bit of a setback. In regards to your needs, I would highly recommend the IPEVO camera. Not only does it boast an incredibly sturdy base, but even someone with a strong kick would have a tough time knocking it over. Additionally, the camera's resolution is superior and the rotation of the camera head allows for both portrait and landscape filming modes. If you happen to run into any issues, simply adjust the camera dimension settings within their visualizer software to capture the entire picture. Hope this helps! Best to you, Beth
Thank you so much! Are you referring to the Ipevo? I have used this camera for streaming on every platform, including sharing with a live audience. I haven't tried any streaming with the Okiocam. I use OBS platform for my streaming.
@@BethGatzaArt yes the Ipevo, so you manage to do live streaming with it on Instagram because I hear some of my friends who have Ipevo green and can't do live streaming

I bought this scanner to make Precise color and grain quality photos of wood veneers. I could not get actuate color or clean shots without light flash back. Any suggestions

Thank you for the great video. I am a seasoned cyber art teacher and artist. I am currently using the Ipevo 4K. My issue is the poor quality of the video. Which of the ones that you reviewed is best at capturing zoomed in images? One of the classes that I teach is high school Drawing and I like to show the tiny details when teaching techniques. I would love your input.
Hi ElisaBeth. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Hmm, I'm surprised that you're having issues with the 4k. We're you having the same issues when switching your resolution? I have found that when filming, sometimes 4k resolution is not necessarily the way to go. It will slow down your computer when filming and make everything appear blurry. Have you tried 1080p resolution at roughly 30 fps? This may help. Also, since making this video, i have switched from the iPevo app, to shooting on OBS entirely. This has cleared up almost all of issues with lag or blurriness. Another way to help clear things up is adjust lighting. When i film my classes i have soft light coming from every angle to help show the details more accurately. Lastly, document cameras are great but if you want the best of the best, then buying a dslr and mounting it to your ceiling would be the best. I want to go that route someday, but until that ship comes in, i think these cameras are great for what they are and their price point. Hope this helps!

I can't be sure what your situation is like completely, but I used the Ipevo in my classroom live by linking it to my computer and casting it to the TV in my room. I didn't have a smartboard, but I know other teachers have found success with the other Ipevo document camera, the VZ-X. You may want to reach out to Ipevo for more information. Best to you!

Hello Beth, I recently asked about the document camera and its ability to connect direct to HDMI. Your IT husband replied. Anyways, I went with another simple version that's working out fine. My question here is, what projector do you use and do you have any reviews? I will be traveling to teach and the projector might just be the ticket. I don't always have control over the placement of the tv or monitor in the room I use. Plus, toting a monitor around isn't always practical. So, can you give me any suggestions for my workshops in painting? Thanks in advance.

Hi Melody, thank you for your question! Personally, I use premiere pro but I also went to film school in college to learn. Yet, you don't have to go to film school to learn editing nowadays. So many of my favorite RU-vidrs use free editing platforms to make amazing content. If you are an apple owner, use their imovie platform. Otherwise, I use ishot when I need to edit on the go on my phone. If you have editing experience and are looking for the next step up, then use davinci resolve which is a free platform all of the big editors are switching to because of its features. Hope this helps get you started!
Not having watched the entire presentation I have a question. I am an art instructor teaching workshops. At times I have access to a large TV for the student viewing. Will the unit work ( the bigger better IPEVO) directly plugged HDMI to the tv? I assume it will get power from the tv? need also, Yes, using it for youtube is a need but more for my classroom presentations. If necessary I could put my laptop before the tv. Prefer not to haul all the stuff though. Thanks..now, back to our show lol
Thanks for watching, Paul! I think that would work, i explain more at the end of this message, but wanted to share this as well. When i was In the classroom i had a Google Chromecast/stick that i plugged into the tv, then i streamed my doc cam to my students on the tv, from my computer. I only had to click one button for it to work- It was super easy to do. Yet, I would STILL ask someone, like IT Dept if they could set it up for you and show you how it works. This way, if the internet goes out they could have a backup idea for you. If you don't have a computer then yes you could do that, just make sure your cord is long enough and you have a power source in the tv for the doc cam. I know ipevo made this product to be like a modern overhead projector, so i think that should work. Sorry for the long-winded answer!

You might be able to test it for me if you have the IPEVO VZ-R?? HDMI out to a tv..see if it connects and shows your image. Set the input on the TV to HDMI#? If not too much trouble. Hey Paul, IT Husband here. You can certainly use the HDMI port to display to anything with an HDMI input. Whether that be computer, TV, or projector, it doesn't matter. This way you can use it as a traditional overhead projector. You will however need power over USB. HDMI alone will not power the unit. Nothing fancy just 5v capable like a computer or wall plug. Hope this helps!

Does the okiocam software work with other Webcams? If you had a multi-camera streaming setup could you switch cams with full access to the features of okiocam?

Hi Verity Steele, thank you so much for watching! Yes, under the settings menu (looks like a gear on the upper left-hand side), under general, there is a setting that is titled, "Camera Sounds On" with two checkboxes. One for focus, and one for "snapshot". Make the "snapshot" button is deselected.
