Testing continues with our Project Acura Integra and on this episode we install a set of Koni 3011 series double adjustable dampers with Eibach Springs and Karcepts Spherical Top Hats. We headed back to The FIRM in Starke, FL for our testing and had a lot of fun as we learned about different setups on the car to make it do what we want it to do.

Enjoyable and informative, glad to see some testing with the front sway bar removed and I like the addition of the Koni shocks. I wonder if you kept the front bar and add a larger rear bar it would balance that push you were experiencing, while still maintaining some of the transition and stability the front bar offers. But I can also see flipping the springs front to back and connecting the front bar again. Lots of experimentation. Love this stuff

Yes..that is a good thought ... swapping springs front to rear or even just throwing the same rate on the back and then seeing how it feels to drive would be interesting to see. Honestly I would love to take the springs down to 450lb or so front and rear for better comfort on the street and then add the front sway bar back into the mix to see how that works.

nice in car vid for laps. have enjoyed watching. im sure other have pointed out but you would have been better off no rear sway and keep the front on. loose is fast and then u can drive w the throttle moreso through the turn to fix that understeer....from a that day standpoint. best is swaybars front and rear and address the understeer w tire set up keeping the front track wider to promote Oversteer off throttle...

I really enjoy this series and especially the data between parts. I just recently did the suspension on my teg and there was more noticeable understeer than before, what fixed it was the X-bar. I'm now getting slight oversteer which is perfect and my 24mm rear sway isn't even maxed out on the endlinks yet.

Very clean Integra! Is there anything else hardware wise needed when installing DC2 ITR coilovers to a Integra LS (non ITR)? I already have ITR eyelet coilovers, new OEM ITR rear lower control arms and new OEM bolts. The current brake lines will be zip tied to the ITR LCA's for the time being. I am unsure if there is any additional washers etc. that needs to be installed sandwiched in with the eyelet end into the opening of the rear lower control arm or it just gets installed as is with the one bolt passing through the LCA and eyelet. It would be great if maybe you did an instal video showing the install of ITR eyelet style coilovers.

You have all that you need -- going with new OEM bolts is a smart decision...in hindsight I should of done that too, the used parts worked fine but at such a low cost new hardware make sense. The rear shocks simply install into the rear lower control arm and run the bolt through.

should definitely test out BC fully adjustable and see what improvements your track time will show. where is track love to bring the integra out and run some test of my own?

I don't think you really understand what the Koni 3011 shocks are - they are top of the line double adjustable motorsports shocks, they are more than capable and to 98% of drivers out there their performance is all they will ever need. are you going to be going bak n forth to an alignment shop to adjust camber/toe etc.? or are you able to do that yourself...great videos

We use a local alignment shop to make the changes. It is just easier on us and saves us time to have a local professional do that part of the project.

Does this integra have a fidanza flywheel?that would be cool to see next.

No....currently on an OEM flywheel and clutch. A lightweight flywheel is on the agenda whenever we do get into the idea of doing a clutch upgrade.

I've owned 3 integra GSRs and I can tell you from experience that the one with coilovers handles the worse. They have more potential but maybe it's all about that corner balance and setup? I dont know, but it's nice to see that my experience isn't a one off phenomenon. I thought I was insane when I put the Coils on it and was like "does this handle worse that my 99 with those Skunk2 springs?"

Since I cant really find parts for the DB7 Integra, Do the suspension components from the DC7 and Hatch fit the Sedan? Its pretty hard to find anything for the DB7 aftermarket wise. Im new to the Honda scene coming from Euros.

All 94-01 Integra suspension parts are interchangeable (except the rear shocks for the Integra Type R model, those are chassis specific)

Did you correct the tire wear? What alignment specs did you run? concluding the issues mentioned at the start of the episode would be nice lol.

I saw the specs on your page, remove the toe out front and rear, its not helping.

Yes...noted on the recap -- the tire wear on the front is better but still not ideal. The test track we are using (The FIRM in Starke, FL) is very hard on left side tires, in particular the left front. We haven't completely sorted the best setup for that track but I am confident the setup on the car now would have excellent wear characteristics at a place like Sebring that is more neutral from side to side and in general on the camber settings. The toe out in the front will be staying as that initial turn in is needed based on the car setups I have done in the past, but yes, the rear at zero would be better imo.

@@IPGparts Thanks for the reply. The toe in up front works good at entry but hurts mid turn since the outside wheel with most of the load is pointed at slightly less of an angle than the car which causes under-steer. The inside tire gets you into the corner quicker but mid turn it's impact is reduced due to weight transfer to outside wheels. I run with a larger rear stab bar in my integra to get it to rotate, zero toe front and rear and about the same camber as you. However it's driver preference like you say.

AIM solo lap timer..Is It possibile to plug to obd Port for ECU data logging?

The AIM Solo DL can be plugged into the OBD2 Port and retrieve some information from the car (it depends on what information is put through the OBD2 port system, every car will be a bit different)

The Shocks are Koni 3011 , I don't believe they offer them anymore , not sure on a part # . The spring part are the Ground control kits still available with custom spring rates
