I've seen a lot of experienced techs do it bare-handed. That said, I'm not one of them- and I cut my hand doing this with an iPhone 8. Depending on how bad the glass is, there may be little broken bits around the edges that are harder to see... long-story-short, I recommend gloves.

He was okay. It isn't glass. It's a resilient plastic. Also the outer surface is coated with several layers of laminate so if the back cracks or shatters the shards remain in place or splinter towards the phone. doesn't shatter.

Great video!!! I have this machine in my shop, what I do is cover the lenses with electrical tape to protect them. Also I make changes to the original template to keep the red light just inside the frame so it doesn't get hit.

as someone working in a fixit shop you should be able to raise and lower the plate to adjust the laser and avoid etching the actual phone

🙋‍♂️I have a video like this on my channel. That L shaped bracket can be adjusted if the laser is off. It can burn the metal frame a bit. First one should be practice, then adjust the bracket if the laser is off.

We've noticed that some of the templates are a bit off around the cameras. But if you dismantle the template, you can manually move the camera section so that it doesn't burn the rings. We have a rough video on our channel that shows how to do this.

I have the same machine. Just the built in pc verison. The machine will always be off when you first get it. You will need to adjusted it so you dont burn the lens or frame. You also want to use windex on the back to remove the burnt smell. Or deal with the smell. Also you need to remove the screen to remove the burn dust. Good luck n

i have replaced over hunderds of back glass so i dont recommend using that vacuum thingy he uses better to break the glass and remove/clean the glass pieces. by doing this u wont damage the edges and keep the wireless charger area intact. also u can even use paper around the lenses so they wont get damaged by the laser. you should always align red laser pointer with actual burning laser on that machine.

I think the reason why Apple moved the Apple logo to the very center is so that it will look good when Everythingapplepro make a clear mod for the new iPhone 11 If you don’t get this basically the Apple logo is now at the very center of the wireless charging coil and not slightly higher
