I went to Tokyo with the new iPhone 11 Pro to put it to the test. The objective of this video is to deliver a visual story showcasing my journey to Japan. The story starts in Tokyo, a progressive futuristic city that’s a beautiful backdrop for the fast paced editing style that I love to do.

@S Tra Yes, I already know, I'm not going to change your fixed opinion, but the iPhone 11's camera is superb. Sure, it has its limitations when it comes to glass and sensor size. But the best camera is the one you actually have with you. And many people often just have their phone with them, so let's just appreciate how far we have come. I'm actually selling my Fuji x100t, because I don't feel like I need a walkaround camera anymore, that weighs 4 times as much as my phone. Cameras are not only about sensor size, glass and performance charts. The iPhone sparks my creativity. It has a great night mode, a cool wide angle, a portrait mode that works very decently, as well as dozens of great built in editing apps. It's very quick and responsive and unobtrusive. Also, I really like the colors the iPhone's sensor produces. And for those 10% of the time when it really really counts I bring my full frame dslr.

S Tra No one is buying an iPhone solely for the camera. You’re getting a world class smartphone camera on a s m a r t p h o n e that you can use as part of your workflow. If you don’t care about your phone, then yeah you can get a $100 smartphone and a $1100 camera or a $1100 lens for your existing body. Depends on how much you value iOS and a more complete and portable package.

If you want a good camera it's cheaper to get a DSLR .. the iPhone 11 Pro's 4k is still much worse than a decent camera like the Panasonic GH5 from 2017.

@@theskyspire I would also add that if you really know what you are doing, this look can be replicated on any decent smartphone(absolutely no shade to this uploader - his creation is fantastic!). I would also wage further, that if someone is interested in a more immersive experience with manual controls and settings, instead of a full "auto mode" one, there are a few androids out there that will be a better fit and yield a better final result.

There is a way but that’s is not apples fault blame the app developers at RU-vid who have not released an update for RU-vid to stream in 4K to Apple devices. iPhones have the capability but cannot do it when RU-vid restricts the capability to iPhones and RU-vid is owned by who? Google... who makes androids.

You don't need to spend $1300 on an I-phone or $1400 on a Samsung S20 Ultra to get this exact look. First and foremost, these companies are selling you a name - it's literally the majority of what you are paying for. After that, they are selling a full immersive experience in their operating system and software, and occasionally some gimmicky bloat hardware. Do some research before you invest if you are looking for camera capabilities in a smartphone - there are other smartphones, a fraction of the price of these high end smartphones that can give you the same, if not superior results!

Absolutely love this video. Having lived in and traveled in Japan you did a kick ass job. Was curious how much people find themselves using the extra lens on the 11 Pro. In my mind it doesn't seem totally worth it because you can digitally zoom in post production and with 4k still retain a ton of quality. Curious about peoples thoughts?

@S Tra I would disagree, both with the negativity and the statement. I think the footage holds up well in low-light, there is nowhere near as much artifacting and banding as I would expect from a phone sensor. This looks brilliant and is well filmed.
