7:15 at this point I think it's important to note, that the surface onto the iPhone 12 was dropped was much more even and flat without all these little stones in the pavement like on the iPhone 11 drop test... Pretty darn impressive tho. I don't get how he drops a phone 10+ times without breaking the glass and my phones always breake after the first or second serious drop :D
That's how you make it 4x more durable. Note 20 ultra with Gorilla Glass Victus survived 10x on smooth, but cracked on the 1st fall on the rough surface.
But i still think its a stronger phone because of the design. The iphone 11 have rounded glass edges and that makes it much more vulnerable to “off centered” hits
@@itztinooo i didnt say the glass unbreakable. see again my statement above. your original statement implied as if apple is saying their glass is unbreakable
Might be interesting to drop the 12 on its face first and not after multiple other drops? Which might cause microscopic stress. Most people aren’t going to drop their phones repeatedly from shoulder/neck height (one would hope)
Someone said to me “I used to watch people ruin iPhones for fun” and I’m like “omg sameeee! I used to watch... ummm- I think it was GizmoSlip allll the time” AND I LOOKED U UP AND I WAS RIGHT🥳🥳 I’m so happy I remembered:)))
Did anyone realize that it takes 11 drops for the screen to shatter for the iPhone 11, and 12 drops for the back glass to shatter for the iPhone 12. 11 drops for iPhone 11, 12 drops for the iPhone 12, so coincidental XD.
Please give me an answer sir. After all tests, did you find the camera lens scratched or cracked? i watch so many drop test video on the internet, no one show the camera is cracked/or at least there are scratch on the camera lenses.
I can’t wait till the iPhone 12 Pro Max comes out because I’m upgrading to that from a iPhone X. Btw you are my favorite tech RU-vidr and was the one who made me start my own tech channel
my android phone has gorilla glass 5 at the front and back and when i accidentally dropped it with a non slim case from 10 feet the back glass somehow broke but not the front
The back glass isn’t covered in the ceramic shield fairly sure that was stated before the release & anything will crack or shatter after continuous drops in a row after a while would be pretty silly to buy new phones to just drop them continuously until it’s broken because it just weakens it altogether but a drop not as often would have next to no affect depending on the height of the drop
People still do these drops after 10 years? The results have been trivial for years now. There’s nothing to worry about. You have to try to break the screens of these phones.
The perfect angle can fuck up any screen. I was sitting at mydesk, dropped my iPhone X from desk height onto an office carpet. Front screen cracked. Now I’ve gotta spend $270 just to fix the screen so the phone can be an eligible trade in for a upgrade. A 3 foot drop from my desk to the floor cost me $270. I’ll take whatever “extra toughness” I can get on future models.
@@razorback6111 Ah man me too, 2 and a half foot drop from my recliner arm rest onto my laminate floor shattered part of my S10 screen last night, I think these drop tests are very helpful!
I wish y'all wouldn't drop them from odd unrealistic positions. You should be dropping them from your ear, and heart height--like how we normally use them ya know...
It looked like when the back cracked from the front drop the frame flexed at the antenna lines causing the back to crack much like the issue with the iPad Pro.
Why don’t you use a long wood plank but a transparent plastic version for more accurate drops. I say transparent plastic so it doesn’t affect your video in any way, so there’s not a ugly wood object ruining the viewing experience.
really I did this with my dad's iPhone 12 you know what it broke on the first drop and now I'm in my fućkin uncle's house for a month thank you gizmo slip ;(
Didnt beat the iphone xr though it survied 14 drops and didnt crack the only button messed up. And it took 4 smashes until it died. The first smash only the back broke.
