If you are charging from 0 to 100, there is no point using the 30w, but for a quick 15-20 min charge up it might be worth it.

By default there is a setting turned on for iPhones called optimize battery charging which limits the charge speed after 80 percent battery life based on your habits and only charges past that amount at normal speed when the iPhone thinks you'll actually need it. I believe if this setting was turned off the results would be different in that the 30w charger would beat the 20w by a larger margin. Maybe someone can test this out?

@@TylerHernandez Charge slows done around 80% on most chargers That's normal behavior, if that option was being used by the phone at this moment, the load would probably be lower As it would try to keep at 80%, and 10W does way more than that ^^

I had a 30w laying around cause I got it for cheap a while back and although if you’re charging to 100 it makes nearly no difference, if charging to just 40-80% it’s consistently about 5-10% faster throughout the entire charging cycle. Not worth it but if you can pick one up for cheap it’s definitely a nice boost that you will appreciate those times when you gotta leave the house and only have a few minutes to juice up.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to go with the 20w charger because I need the 30w for international travel since you can change out the prongs for other countries. I typically don’t use aftermarket chargers unless it’s a car dc charger.

Been on apple for maybe 4 years and plan to go back to iphone with iphone 14. I am absolutely horrified by the battery charging time, fortunately it lasts a long time, but 2 hours to charge your phone to the maximum is enormous. And 4h for the magsafe. Will change that is absolutely necessary for Apple, the delay is staggering. I imagine that it is on the 15th that they will solve this problem obviously...

If you're on low battery but you need to go out as soon as possible, 30 watt charger is the best because it takes like 40 minutes to charge at least more than 50% compared to 20 watt which is slightly slower. I have did charge my iPad Mini and it takes like 5 minutes from 20% to 25% with 18 watt charger compared to 10.5 watt charger which takes up to 23% in 5 minutes. For best performance, just try left your iPhone or iPad left charging without turn on the screen for 30 minutes because it might affect charging time in my opinion.

A iPhone never useto take 2 hours to charge. I saw someone plug up their I phone on one those mega super charger adapters and it fully charged within minutes. For better charging results you do want to close all your app sale sure nothing is running or using your WiFi and lock your phone

Hello. Bought my 13 Pro Max on Tuesday. Used it till 4% remained, put it on charge at 1:15 AM and removed it at 5:20 AM. It took 4.1 hours to get to 100%. I am from Pakistan so we don't have official Apple Store here but I got my phone from an authorized Apple Dealer. He said the room temperature was the issue, where I checked it was 33°C. It was my first charge. What could have gone wrong?

Still pretty poor with both chargers. It's funny how iPhone 5 and other phones from five years ago were able to charge quicker to 100% with regular chargers than "fast charging" today. Granted, they had smaller batteries, but these charge times aren't impressive.

Honestly I'm not a heavy user kinda like a person who use the phone for calls, messaging, then getting off but I wanna say that my iPhone 13 lasted for 9 days without charging I'm still shocked it was like 5% the last day stayed like 2 hrs with me and then died. I never actually realised I wasn't charging it at all. 😂

Not in the amount that it would be noticeable. Apple would have been giving 20W adapters now if they have not stopped giving it the box. 5 W is too slow for these huge batteries. It will take more than 3 hours to charge them which doesn't make sense.

Just charged my 14 Pro Max using a 30w charger and, got little bit better results, could get 57% in 30 minutes, although as in your test after sometime the charging speed reduce dramatically and the total time for the 14 Pro Max was basically the same as yours 🙂

The problem that’s been found is that the IPhone throttles charging with the 30 watt charger due to heat, so they end up being very close when charging from zero. It is good for burst charging though…

What about the power you use, is it more power used for the same amount of charge, i mean as we know the battery in itself it has 100% capacity in total and one is 20w the other 30w, so at the end or through the whole process when it's fully charged - does it mean 30w use more power and will cost you more even when you get the same 100% charged battery? or is it same cost just in shorter time with the 30w? Now im talking about the electricity bill, think of it that way - your only bill for the whole month is your iphone charge, one month i charge it only with the 20w the other month with the 30w, you will get the same bill?

A little clarification, an Android charger may support additional charging technologies such as QC and PPS while Apple’s only support USB PD (from what I’ve heard)

Hello!! I have the 13 Pro. Picked my phone up at 7 am after charging all night. By 2:30 pm I was at 30%. At 4pm I was at 13%. Under battery usage it shows Phone 25% and Amazon 23%, the other Apps are 10% or less. What could I be doing wrong to make my battery drain so quickly? Wifi was off, screen brightness at 50%, Bluetooth on. I thought this battery was supposed to last all day.

Was it your first day after purchase/installation? The battery life usually gets better after the first 3 day (lots of background stuff going on). Check your battery health under settings. If it doesn‘t help try to calibrate the battery. There are YT videos showing the process. Good lick and have a nice day.

Same problem I had, now I get home before my 13 pro max even hits 70%. 80% if I keep low power mode on while I’m not using the phone(to limit fps below 60 while I’m not watching videos/scrolling through feed) I also noticed Find my iPhone was pinging my location every 10-20seconds. Drastic battery life increase after turning it off.

30 watt is faster a month ago I used my 30 watt anker power bank to boot up my phone my phone was at 22 percent when I got off the plane and got to 65 when I got out of the airport I had no checked luggage and no customs so literally just walked in the airport for 20 minutes and it got me enough for the rest of the day

If you have time to charge to 100% it's not a big difference. But if you travel a lot and are busy and you may only have 15/20 mins Burst to charge your phone it’s a nice upgrade

I have a 30w it charges my phone so fast and back then i had a 50w huge difference is the 30w boot up your phone quickly also charges it quickly
