Moral of the story, it doesn’t matter what phone you have. Just get a good case from mous or a rugged case and a screen protector if you care about your new 1000 dollar purchase
It depends on a luck. My phone dropped face down right on a small rock, which just destroyed the screen protector, but at least the screen itself was not looking as bad. Though it was really frustrating, just a random rock on a road.
Mous case is just awesome, I never see it advertised it anywhere but I bought mine on November 2019, despite having the WORST delivery time (25days), the customer service was nice and refunded me of the delivery costs. It saved my S9+ big time many times.
Yeah but gravel isn't flat or perfect, making the result random and pointless as sometimes it could go unharmed and other times completely kill the phone
Real life drops in fact random and it makes me curious if either phone is designed for real world drops or a staged surface drop. in either case the glass has come a very long way and cracking occurs much less than just a few years ago. One thing about these drops, it’s just a test for the inevitable. At one time samsung used plastic on the face as did every phone maker - apple moved to glass and that’s what the public wanted knowing darn well the limitations and that’s because everything looked great when viewing pics, etc.
As an S21 ultra user, using just the standard screen protector that comes with the phone and NO phone case (my hands aren't big enough), I've dropped my phone quite a few times throughout the past... 9 months? Probably about 7-8 times, each time around waist-height. I can proudly say that there are no major damages to the phone. The screen protector has scratches, but that's normal. even keys in a pocket can scratch the protector. The screen itself is flawless. The glass back is just perfection. The only damages are small nicks in the aluminum frame on the corners, but those are barely visible and don't get in the way of holding the phone. So great overall safety and durability. One extra info: I finaly bought and attached a phone ring thingy 2 months ago, and haven't dropped the phone once every since. So yeah, to people who want the large phones with small/medium sized hands, i recommend getting those phone ring stands on the back
I have an iPhone 11 throw it everywhere, wash it in the sink, I have even dropped it off a roof from 2 stories high and it didn’t my have a single crack, and no case. I have had it since it came out and it works the same.
@@Goldberg7626 I got the 13 pro max and it lasted me 9.49 minutes it's definitely better than my s21 ultra it's also faster and smoother I just can't wait to get my hands on the s22 ultra
@@TeecueDee it's not fake I use 120 hz I'm not a sheep by the way I like android because it's easier to use and more features but the 13 pro max is definitely better than the s21 ultra
@@fynkozari9271 Apple always claims that they have the toughest glass on a phone with ceramic crystals and even claiming the 13 Pro Max is 1.5x stronger than their predecessor. This is all a joke and they can't ignore the fact that glass breaks. They should consider using Titanium for front and back or just stick to Gorilla Glass Victus like S21 Ultra
@@delonpravishsl9545 Imo I would think apple would put aside anything samsung uses that could help them just cause of how petty they are and how they refuse to accept the fact that sooner or later samsung will pass them. Honestly I'm more of a apple person just cause I like the way it generally looks better and it's not that bad but whether the side you're on you can't really deny that.
In the face drop, iPhone's screen was shattered all over the screen whereas S21's screen was only chapped at the bottom edge. I think S21 performed better
Not surprised by the s21 damage but apple probably got wind of ur last video and saw the front display and said "no way we can have that kind of good durability" and found a way to cut corners
The s21 did pretty good despite being released 9 months earlier than the iphone. once the s22 releases in 3 months we'll see if samsung still wins or not
S21 Ultra already use the Latest & Greatest Victus Glass in both Front & Back ... so there's a Big Chance S22 Ultra will use the same..... i didn't expect to it to have a Big Improvement at all ...
@@luckysaadaan8617 mrwhosetheboss doesn’t do a standby test, and doesn’t use the same apps for each battery drain test so you can’t really FULLY compare phones between tests

Glass is glass. This is why I always make sure I buy a good case for my phone. You know what's worst than a shattered phone? The repair cost to fix it....
@@Intergalactic18 I want her to know that if you already have the new iPhone, you probably just wrote this just to think you're the greatest just because you already have the new iPhone, nobody wants to know, for me and another high-end, normal, for me it's useless none, since an intermediary does exactly the same thing, why spend so much money on a smartphone that pretty much does what others do, I have a Galaxy A52, and it fits me perfectly, I don't mean to say, but it's my reality
@@sakhawatrahman4961 I am waiting for that day when you can finally use a phone ( not a rugged one without a case) without case but glass is glass and glass breaks. Though recently I found that there are some tempered back glass protectors. I would prefer those over a case.
You know that it can be bad luck.. right.. some phones crack when they fall from 10 cm and some don`t have a scratch after you yeeted them into the wall with your foot.. It`s just pure luck. XD
It may be bad luck. My 5th gen ipad fell from 2 meters to the stone ground face down and only had a small crack but my ipad air gen 4 fell to grass and had a small crack even tho it was like 10cm
everytime you do a new round you must use set of phones, more damage at the back of the iphone happened on the face drop not on the backdrop, the subsequent rounds of drops are only applicable if your phone was already cracked from previous drops but if you have a new phone and it drops, it would be great to anticipate how much should it fare
I believe for both phones, once the glass has been broken on either the front or the back it compromises the structural integrity of the opposite side so that glass will break easier.
I’m a Samsung user as well as an iPhone user, I must say that indeed iPhones are the best when it comes to durability. My iPhone 7 Plus is still functioning while my Samsung A71 has a lot of lines in the screen. I bought an iPhone 13 Pro Max, it’s pretty expensive but I hope it is as durable as the past iPhones.
@@propersod2390 there are no laser machines in my country and also i dont like to go to 3rd party stores! in Samsung store s21 ultra's back replacement cost 30 usd in my country and iphone 12 pro max black cost 550 usd
The iPhone 12- and 13 pro max screen replacement costs 329$ and from Samsung it costs 249$ so where do you have those stupid numbers from? Stupid Samsung fanboy
Just... Use a Case. I don't remember the last time I broke a phone after buying good cases. Its been years... I think a galaxy s3 was the last phone I broke (Samsung was on the s4 at that time). My phones sell for higher too because they stay mint because of a case and screen protector. Poetic, Ringke and UAG all have served me and my family well. I've replaced many screen protectors, but that's all :)
Finally, someone has a brain lol. Factory screen protector with a UAG cover case is like all you need. Cant go wrong with it. Plus, I am not an asshole with my phone and I actually carefully bring it out my pocket. These tests are probs only for a laugh or keep Samsung vs iPhone alive
Good thing i made a great decision buying s21 ultra over iphones but still always protect your investment! Clear case is a way to go if you still wanna see how cool your phone is!
You do realise that Glass is Glass and glass breaks, This test is just anecdotal, and actual results will vary depending on the environment you’re in, whether you’re having an iPhone or a samsung
@@cosmicreaverkassadin1143 All I see is that there is not a big difference in durability but a huge difference in price and weight (steel vs aluminum).
@@michael6074 I also give credits to other brands when they are better at something but I hate when people try to make something better when they can see they’re actually equal even that your comment was maybe a joke Like someone here said that S21 is 9 months older so wait til S22 comes out like it wouldn’t be made out of glass so this kind of comments gets me triggered

@@albanos.13 Apple itself said it is *strongest* glass on any smartphone but it doesn't seem so .. that's what he meant. Companies shouldn't make false claims.
Wow, I drop my phone multiple times a day. It hasn't cracked yet, because a case can do you wonders. Literally threw it on the ground with a considerable amount of strength by accident before, and it was unscathed. Surprised these phones did so badly.
Even after face-dropping the iPhone 12 Pro Max 11 times last year, there was no crack in the front glass. But unfortunately the front glass of iPhone 13 has been cracked only once by face drop.
You tell me dry advice whether to take s21 ultra or aifogn 13 pro max. To me in particular, powerful audio such as dolby atmos both stereo and normal headphones and Bluetooth but above all, reliable battery that gives confidence to the user lasts without worries and problems or be anxious that you could battery low for a moment. I have seen many videos and blogs both Italian and foreign where foreigners who removed the photographic sector, aifogn is in everything. Could it be true? boh. I repeat if you give me confirmation and advice thanks
I personally think that difference in weight just put it over the limit of the Ceramic Shield protection, whereas the 12 last year was just under the limit of what the Ceramic Shield screen could protect.
@@majdihidmi4624 Likely due to its bezels. The iPhone basically has a direct contact to the ground, whereas the Samsung has a bit of a lip that helps protect it from the side. That's my guess.
And remember it's a curved vs flat display as well. The fact that Samsung's more durable even with that curve................ is just outstanding........I mean both are kind of unusable but if I'd have to pick, I would go with galaxy........
Had a screen protector, phone case, fell down from about 1 meter while i was running like 10 kph, screen shattered and touchscreens upper part is not working. What a great phone s21 ultra

Y'all know that there's no difference between GG Victus and Ceramic Shield Ceramic Shield is just a rebranded victus so both are almost the same from front :)
No it’s different Ceramic Shield uses nano ceramic crystals and Gorilla Glass 7 uses aluminum silicate and Ceramic Shield is made by Corning and apple together so it’s slightly better than cornings own glass
I'm happy to report, as a S21 Ultra user, that I have dropped my phone 2x and no damage at all. Face first once and corner once. I was so scared cuz I had just gotten the phone not too long ago, but more so relieved/impressed/ecstatic that no damage had occurred AT ALL!
With the screen drop its all chance as you saw the s21 bounced more than the iPhone showing it dispersing the energy much better so it cracked less, the iPhone was pretty much a straight flat impact showing it took all the force with resulted in over loading the screen and cracking it, its all just chance even if you tried this with a phone from the past with a weaker screen if it bounced more it would prolly survive due to its dispersing of the kinetic energy, ye I am very tired and yes im up too late before school but I've got physics on my mind and I'm quite bored
Me: drops my new iPhone 13 on accident “ oh no hope it’s not cracked” This channel: drops iPhone 13 20 times “ the phone is still holding up let’s drop it some more”
These tests are exactly why I'm considering switching to Apple for the first time ever. I use cases, tempered glass, the whole deal. I still break my phone screen at least 2-3 times a year. I'm so sick of curved screens and even worse, $60 curved screen protectors that are no better than the $6 flat ones I could buy on Amazon for an iPhone.
@@ahappycoder2925 Well it's possible, I do it all the time, so 360 protection case is must for me... Makes the phone a little too bulky tho, need to find an alternative.
Phones with the strongest glass on the market: Fall from your pocket and breaks. That 350 dollar phone with a plastic back and gorilla glass 3 on the screen: Falls from 3 metters on gravel with the screen facing down, and survives without a single scratch.
Hopefully you cleaned the chunks of glass off the concrete block before each test, otherwise that’s another variable that could explain why the 12 didn’t crack but the 13 did. On the other hand, if you didn’t clean it off, it would technically be closer to a “real world” test where anything could be on the ground, and it might not be a perfectly flat surface. Interesting experiments! Glad to see someone trying to make these tests repeatable and consistent with machinery.
