Thank you for being one of the only people not just repeating what apple already told us. You are providing value by comparing it alongside other phone models. Thank you!
@@ItzCrypticClipz oh definitely! I did get like $700 in trade in value so that was a big deciding factor for me. But battery size, performance, swiping smoothness, etc., I have seen a huge improvement!
I have a Samsung galaxy s10e. I plan on buying the iPhone 14 pro soon. The last iPhone I had was the 4s. Kinda excited to come back to iPhone. I been team android for years.
@All u need is love I got the Samsung galaxy s23 plus lol. I couldn't resist that trade in deal. But I love this phone tho. I probably get the iPhone 17 or whatever they'll call it 3 years from now.
@@stuckinthe90sThegoldenera lmaooooo iPhone 17 lol well I had a Samsung once and I will admit I loved it but I think I prefer apples operating system more now of somehow they could combine the two id definitely get it lol
As someone with a iPhone XR 64 gig (which is already full) upgrading to the iPhone 14 Pro Max 512 gig, will be a huge upgrade for me and improved battery compared to the XR with 94% battery health. Update on my storage usage on the iPhone 14 Pro Max 512: I’ve already used up 102 gigabytes already with it being heavily used by Photos/Videos and Apple Music downloads that’s considering that I still haven’t transferred my photos from my XR
If you’re wanting the better resolutions, go with at least 256 GB (same stipulations as last year for 4k footage). But if that’s not a priority, go with the base model. If just having storage to grow into, I’d say at least 512 gb
I used my iPhone 7 plus more than 5 years and last month it suddenly stopped working out of nowhere. The battery life was still really good for a 5+year old phone. I’ve ordered 14 pro and will get it in my hands within a week, it’s gonna be a big upgrade woo!
I found this very helpful. Thank you Sir! Both my husband and I are having difficulties with our phones. His is an iPhone 7 and mine is an iPhone 8 so we’re lost when it comes to phones now. We’re perfectly happy with our old phones and wouldn’t be getting news ones if we didn’t have to. We like our money in our wallets better than in our phone. Again thank you for this video. It was very helpful.
Amazon has some good deals on refurbished models some are 3rd party(so check their ratings!) and some are “premium renewed” by amazon. Those are generally a little more money due to their 1 year warranty.
Same choice but 1TB for me. Once you go Pro, it's hard to get anything less. Match it with the Ultra watch and call it a day. I'll probably not buy any Apple products for another 2-3 years cos that's the circle for their good products.
never owned an iphone been on the fence since the X as a loyal LG/quad dac user for 3 generations of their phones optimus G, V20, G8X duel screen. But damned if that PURPLE add and launch DIDNT HAVE ME...die hard fan of purple the new camera is pretty awesome too as far as an added value sentiment to owning the 14 for a while. I got spoiled/used to my g8x having a quad dac though...i could have sound mixers....discord up isolated, playing a turn based card game...and playing tidal master with good playback. Most phones just cant do this let alone chat in discord and play a game at the same time or watch a full screen video/movie and chat in discord simultaneously. Its going to be a shift for sure
I just got a FREE upgrade from 2nd Gen SE to iPhone 14 and am very happy with it. I'm just a regular user and not so much into the extras in the Pro & Plus. Thank you for the great review!
I think it’s time for me to upgrade. I’ve had my iPhone 11 Pro Max for 3 years now and even though it’s been amazing, I love the dynamic island on the iPhone 14 Pro.
I'm still on the iPhone 8 Plus. iPhone 14 (non-Pro) looks like the best deal for me. I don't need ProMotion (since I'm not used to it on my phone yet) and I like the better selfie camera on the 14. I also don't think the telephoto lens looks that great on the iPhone 13 Pro so I don't think it will be so great on the 14 Pro either.
I would not expect too much from the higher brightness, because brightness is a logarithmic thing. To reach one nuance more of additional brightness, you do not need not add a fixed amount of light, but instead multiply the amount of light by a certain factor. That's why photographers talk about "stops" when it comes to exposure. One stop brighter exposure means you need twice the amount of light (or twice the ISO), for two stops you need four times the amount of light and so on. So the difference between 1,000 nits and 2,000 nits is just one stop of brightness. If you wanted five stops more brightness, you would need 32,000 nits instead. People are not aware how large the difference of brightness is between a sunny day and a night that is only illuminated by the moon. The sunny day is thousands of times as bright. No smartphone display in the world can compensate for that difference. All you can achieve is making the content somehow readable.
I'm confused. I spend a lot of time in the pool during the day. Sometimes my 13 mini get's to where I absolutely can't see it; especially I think if it starts to get hot. Are you stating the 14PRO with 2000 nits would not be dramatic improvement?
@@claytondelanie The improvement is likely noticeable, but 2000 nits are not as much brighter than 1000 nits for example as most people think. You can test that with two lamps. Two of course will be brighter than one, but it will not look twice as bright.
I’m still on the 11 pro day 1 release, still a great phone with zero issues, but the storage is a problem, especially for my music. So I’m tempted by the 14 pro, with 512gb storage.
Of course the 11 will still be rocking it's not that old of a phone and no way I'd upgrade yet. I would still be using my 1st gen iPhone SE if it wasn't for the battery life which I bought used for cheap and its still fast phone.
I’m rocking a day one 11, I’m 20 and I’ve been on my family’s plan for so long so I decided to finally get off and get my own plan and everything. Decided to go with the 14 pro because of the features. Definitely probably won’t be upgrading for ATLEAST like 4 years lol. I almost got the 13 when it came out just because of the 120hz but I decided to wait until the second 120hz Apple phone and I’m happy I did.
I got a standard 14 dual sim version (outside the US) It’s been a great phone, battery last all day, takes great photo and videos! I’m happy… Will upgrade again to a pro 16 or 17 in a few yrs.. looking forward to 3nm
I just got the 14 pro max. It’s great. But also expensive. I won’t be upgrading for a few years and wouldn’t have if I didn’t break the old one. But it was worth it when I needed it
upgrade from 11 , the screen is a night and day difference, the iPhone 14 promax feels extremely premium and operation of the phone is very seamless my iPhone 11 that I had as much slower I love the 14 promax, I thought the iPhone 11 was an indestructible phone. This is even more stronger.
I am actually still enjoying my iPhone X. It has been almost 5 years and never have had a problem with it. I decided to upgrade my phone to an iPhone 14 Pro Max 1 TB and will try a bigger screen this time a better camera and bigger storage.
I got a iPhone 14 Pro Silver 512GB. I normally get the 256GB, but since I’m keeping this one for three years, and not upgrading annually, I figured I’d get more storage.
To be honest, I wasn’t planning on upgrading from my 12 Pro Max, at least until a USB-C model becomes available. Sadly, I may have to upgrade since my ultrawide lens stopped working earlier today, and I’m getting messages about it being a non genuine camera outside of warranty.
@@ChrissieMarie19 I got it from Apple directly and never had a third party repair or Apple repair. For some reason, both the telephoto and ultrawide lenses stopped working. Hoping that a restore fixes it. Otherwise, I think I’ll be getting the 14 Pro if the cost to repair is greater than the balance left on my payment plan. EDIT: Discussing with Apple Support, running diagnostics, and restoring the phone did not resolve the issue. Waiting on callback tomorrow for repair options, but anything more than my remaining balance might force my hand. I love taking pics with the Pro cameras
@@Benveniste1822 Yeah. I spoke to the Apple support rep. They want $640 to repair the camera since I’m out of warranty. I would do the self service repair program, but it’s too much of a hassle to get the equipment needed, and the window of time to return the equipment is too narrow. Ended up ordering a 14 Pro since I’m going on a hiking trip at the end of the month and want to take good pics.
Again 60hrrz on the iphone 14 in 2022. For some reason this is ok for a 900 dollar phone but it was the end of the world when google put a 60hrz screen in a 400 dollar phone. Funny nobodys saying anything, not one bad think to say.
Also iPhones are physically stronger than android yesterday my friend accidentally dropped his iPhone SE on the road he picked it up and it was still alive only the screen protecter had been cracked so that’s why people don’t complain about 60hz for $900
@@itskyle5766 bruh that logic makes no sense. First : you can't just say "apple is more durable than andriod" because some phones are more durable 2- cases exist 3- phones durability doesn't have anything to do with the refresh rate of the screen to begin with.
@@Mohynoy but it is more durable though someone got shot yet the shot took a hit the iPhone also cases in this case don’t necessarily matter as it depends on what case you buy. Dumb*ss the variable is case also 60hz is fine as long as your screen is not glitchy dumb*ss 😆
For the majority of people who just want the newest iPhone to upgrade from there XR or 11 for example they aren’t going to give a flying frig about pro motion 120hz. They probably don’t care that they can get a Pixel 6/7 for cheaper with a faster refresh rate as they prefer iOS. Tried my Mum on Android back in 2019 she absolutely hated it and carried on with her 6 then got a XR and now a 14. If your a Tech geek you’ll go Pro. But for all the parents or Grandparents or none tech geeks out there who like iOS but maybe fancy a bigger iPhone then the 14 PLus will be great.
This is why I don't switch to a new iPhone as soon as a new model comes up. It's not worth it unless there's a significant improvement. I have been sticking with my iPhone Xs max for a few years and it's still going strong. iPhone 14 pro might be worth switching to.
nope. because Pro models would look like cheap azz if they did that. There's a separation between Pros and non-Pros so people would instantly know what you got. without mistaking all models as the same..
It seems to me like alot of people use their phone on the couch or bed instead of using an iPad/Tablet so I can see how the iPhone 14 Plus might be the one to get from the iPhone 14 lineup. Big screen and big battery seem like a satisfying combo for the average consumer.
I agree, honestly unless you have throw away money or need a tablet for business purposes I don't see much of a reason to get one. Might as well spend the money on a laptop
Just pre ordered my 14 pro max , went with the space black color and 128 gb 🤷🏻♂️. Can’t wait until next Friday when I go pick it up. Excited to see the AOD and dynamic island functionality
@@nataliarayne1427 I like it. But honestly compared to the 13 pro max , at least in my experience , the battery drains a little quicker. Still lasts all day so it’s good. But it could just be from the always on display and extra brightness. And the dynamic island is a nice feature too I especially like it for when playing music
I am sticking with my iPhone 13 pro max for another 5 years. 1) Its works amazing well. 2) Camera & videos are super, i am not a professional photographer. 3) Battery life is amazing. 4) New Dynamic island is least interest for me in new phone 😃 No need for me to upgrade for another 4 yrs as for me will be waste of money going for more higher things which is not necessary for me. Enjoy those who needed these new upgrades 👍& good luck for you guys 👍😊
@@charliefabian7345 Bro, I will replace a new battery once the battery health is below 80%. Reducing battery life is a normal thing for any smart phones. Nothing to worry on battery as it can be replaced when its life is gone😀
1:56 No thanks u.. I was never a fan of that eye sore notch.. I’m going for the iPhone 14 pro max.. I can finally upgrading from my iPhone 7 Plus.. the phone I had for 6 years..
100 14 plus don't need the "pro" ones features cus ill never use them i just want normal iphone but bigger and don't wanna spend crazy amount on 14 pro max just for bigger screen cus all other stuff is ussles to me all i want is iphone with big screen that's not 1000+ and im really happy they did it now
I purchased the iphone14 plus first then I decided to go with the iphone Pro. I changed my mind because of the bigger camera size and the Dynamic Island!! I just got it today at 2:50pm Im watching some youtube videos before I transfer my old phone over. I made the mistake last time when I puchased the iphone 8plus doing it over the phone the lady helping me acidenly erased all my pictures. I was upset yes but this time I will either go to the store and have them set it up for me or watch some videos on transfering my old phone over before I do it myself this time. Cant wait Im so excited been awhile since Ive had a new updated iphone. Hope everyone enjoys theirs as mu c h as I will.
With no price increase this year and being on the iPhone Upgrade Program that allows me to upgrade each year, I'm definitely going to upgrade from my 13 ProMax 1TB Sierra Blue to the 14 ProMax 1TB Deep Purple. I'm totally #TeamDynamicIsland that is quite a work of art and very stunning and that increased 48 MP camera sensor is a big appeal as well not to mention gotta love the always on display and great battery life. 🙂
I'm going from the same color to the same color as well on that program :D only difference is I'm staying with 512GB, haven't filled it in a year so I should be good.
@@Evermore2017 You can enroll through Apple. As long as you have paid off half the loan (made 12 payments) you are free to upgrade each year as long as you send your current phone back to Apple and then your previous loan is closed and you just start paying in the new phone you receive. If you don’t want to upgrade in a given year you just make the remaining 12 payments on your phone and then you own it outright.
@@chips99 do you know if I can do this if I got the 14ProMax from spectrum? I have spectrum mobile and they were running a deal that if you get a phone from them you can get another phone from them and the phone bill will be free for a year, so I’m paying for my phone and my bill and paid for another phone and let my mom have that one with the free phone bill so she could get a new phone and don’t have to pay a phone bill.
Thanks Greg I’m still thinking about which iPhone to upgrade to maybe iPhone 13 pro max not sure iPhone 14 is even worth it thanks man. Take care I’m Andrew
Excellent video. TY!! I’m going to go get one of the 14 pro’s. I’m currently with my iPhone 8 Plus from about 6 years ago. I hang onto these phones until the battery requires almost constant charging! Then get a new one and bask in the joy! 😂 I still I hate the transition part. It is helpful to know about the larger gig needs, so thanks again!
Because of change rates the prices in Europe are much higher than last year. Last years 13 Pro started at 1149€, this year the 14 Pro starts at 1299€… I’m going for a 14 Pro base, because the Max is too big and heavy to carry around. Cheers from Germany 🇩🇪
With taxes, it will be 2091 Canadian dollars for the 14 Pro 512GB, without a case and screen protector. That’s just insane for a phone. But I will buy it anyway.
So having a 48 MP camera this would allow a true 2x zoom that still gives a 12 MP 4K from what I understand. Then additional zooming would obviously still cut it down but I rarely go past 2.5 or 3. Yeah I need a 14 pro
Regardless of fancy pseudo scientific names - bionic, photonic etc etc, what counts is what the images look like. We have to wait for side by side comparisons.
I decided to pull the trigger on an iPhone 13 mini because it just seemed to be the best value. Product (Red) edition. So far, I can’t really find any negatives about this phone. I thought long and hard about going with the 14 pro but there was nothing about it that seemed to justify the cost to me (was upgrading from an 11). The screen size is not as dramatic a difference as it first seemed and I’m loving the ease of operation with one hand. Maybe they’ll make a 14 mini in the future🤞
BTW you can actually take 48mp raw photos and only take a few mbs more than normal photos i.e. won't dessimate your iphone storage if you compress them after you've taken the photo (from share menu). This means that you won't be able to edit them after but you can still take beautiful 48mp photos
Fantastic video Greg... After watching your video I decided to buy iPhone 14 ProMax 512GB, I found the video very helpful. Thank You, Gregs for such a fantastic video.
I enjoyed the video Greg. Thanks for the tips. Draw some attention to the fact that Apple hasn’t released a red iPhone Pro. Some people said it’s because the Pros are more like Pro consumers, and this more conservative, but now there’s a purple phone. And now Apple hasn’t released a red case either, which I do not get at all.
I currently have an iPhone 11 Pro. I've been wanting to upgrade since the 13s came out, but what held me back was not knowing what size phone would work best for me. I had switched from my iPhone XS Max to my iPhone 11 Pro because it began feeling too big and heavy. The kicker is I tend to use my XS Max for browsing socials at home and watching YT videos because the screen on my 11 Pro feels a bit small. I suppose I'm leaning more towards the Pro Max, I'm just worried about the weight. I dig the Dark Purple and I'm definitely considering getting more storage. I'm a 256 GB kind of person myself and it's usually more than enough, but I don't want to run into a storage issue.
I’m getting the 14 pro max 256gb in deep purple. I’m currently on the 128gb base model iPhone 11 and I’ve never had any storage issues. Probably because I have the $9.99 a month 2 terabyte iCloud plan lol.
Was wondering if anyone could help I’m not sure if I should go for the 13 pro max or 14 plus? I mainly want it for the bigger display and deals seem to be ok on 14 plus. 13 pro max seems to be getting discontinued and deals are at times more expensive for the 13 pro max. What the main things I’d need to know and is it worth going for the newer phone? (I’m not too fussed about the cameras)
I’m looking at actually upgrading from the 13 pro to the 14 pro max due to all the features and I have found that I do want more storage device and I want to try the larger screen size too (new to iPhone and had a galaxy s6 that was long overdue for an upgrade when I made the switch). I’m wanting to up my storage and was thinking just go all in and get the 1 TB
512GB is more than enough for me & i’m a huge power user storing more than 10K photos on device & hundreds of apps, music etc. but if you can swing it go for it!!!
I was very lucky to get the 13 pro max last year when my ancient 7+ finally succumbed to obsolescence BUT I was disappointed my base model 128 GB couldn’t have ProRes soooo… It is very enticing to upgrade after just one year this time so I can get some trade in value and not have another iPhone paperweight on my shelf. However…. I’m getting a Macbook soon and I don’t think I can get both.
Get the MacBook. Well actually depends on what MACBOOK you want.. air? M1 pro/max? MacBook Pro 13”? If the answer is the 13” MacBook pro save yourself the money, same goes for the MacBook Air m1 or m2 as they can’t hang with the 14” m1 pro which also have mini led basically oled displays and can edit film, like 8k film like it’s nothing or edit multiple 4k with tons of luts and transitions and filters and effects smoother than a current Mac Pro. But if your budget is around 1200 then yeah switch carriers from Verizon to att or visa versa and use that 800$ trade in incentive and get a new iPhone 14 then save another 200 bucks and get your computer as you should only be out a couple hundred by switching. I change carriers every time I want to upgrade for this very reason as all 3 major carriers offer similar coverage now that 5G+ is out unless you live in the middle of nowhere it doesn’t matter
@@lefthanded0440 thanks for the insight! As a matter of fact, I do kind of live in the middle of nowhere, which makes the iPhone 14’s new features seem more useful than when I lived in the city. I am looking at the 13” Macbook Pro M1 for its brighter screen and editing power. The Air probably could handle what I would use it for but I want the brighter screen for outdoor use. It would love to get the M1 Macbook Pro with the M1 pro chip but that is off my budget range.
I ❤ the Dynamic Island, except for the fact that now, having the attention of the user with CLICK-CLICK-CLICK, the selfie camera will be the DIRTIEST and SMUDGIEST ALL THE TIME! Nobody's selfie camera will be clean enough to take decent pix!!!!!
I read someone say that people already are swiping over the camera to open notifications. I’ve never noticed a difference with that. Maybe it will be the same with the island
First time I've bought the new regular model Iphone for the year vs. the its pro counterpart. Gotta say...it sucks so bad. I'm definitely buying the Iphone 15 pro max next go round
Just preordered the 14 pro max in deep purple and I’m so excited but I skimped out and stuck with 128gb’s cause that’s what I have now on my 12 pro max and I still have plenty of storage ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but now I’m feeling like I should’ve gotten 256gb’s AT LEAST but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but we shall see I’m excited either way 🤩
Geetings from the UK. I got the Pro Max 14 512 in silver as colour is unimportant. (I use a folio case so the colour is never seen) Very happy with it so far!
Hi Greg, I'm also considering getting iPhone 14 Pro... But I'm concerned about the battery experience. Don't you think it it will be "just fine" even "not enough" specially in long GPS use days or camera shooting days? This lack of autonomy can be worsen by the battery life dropping 5% to 10% after the first year of use. I think the Pro Max is way too heavy, bulky and uncomfortable for one hand usage... What are your thoughts on my comments? Thanks
I'm facing the same situation here. I like the smaller size since it is more practical but the battery is really important. Have you made up your mind?
@@jmp622 my 12 is really not that much different than the 13 and 14. As nice as the pros are, I won’t pay $1000 for that phone. I can’t justify it for me. We’ll see what happens. Apple is very persuasive 🤔
i ordered earlier today the iphone 14 and now after your video i regret not going for 13... i thought the 2gb extra ram would be reason enough to give extra 100euro
I’m opposite of you my guy, I much prefer a heavier phone. My note 10 plus would sound like a brick being dropped when simply just setting it on the table. I drop my SE3 on the table and I get just a tap. Planning on getting 14 pro max 128gb as I don’t need very much space in a phone. Trying to decide between black or purple.
I’m on a 14 and upgrading to a 13 pro instead of the 14 line up . We’ll gonna see my options for a 14 pro upgrade but if it’s a lot more a month I’m Forsure going with the 13 pro
iPhone Plus will be best selling phone.. easy! Cuz This year the best selling phone so far was iPhone 13 (regular) non Pro. If ppl get 6.7 inch under $1k.. it’s a no competition
iPhone 14 Pro Max, 512 GB...go Max or go home... :) I normally only use around 150 GB of space on my phone, but want freedom to do whatever I want on my phone but still be under half of the storage available to avoid any slow down of function. But that's just me...
I think I'll be downgrading from pro max 12 to 14 plus. My current Pro max 12 is already way too heavy. Any decrease of weight while keeping the size of screen will be my choice. I'm quite disappointed about pro max increase in weight.
I had the XS Max and it got crushed so now I have the 14 and I LITERALLY HATE IT SO MUCH. It keeps freezing up. Battery don’t last as long. Selects without ticking the screen and when I do want it to select, it won’t. 😡 Personally I think my old phone was better
I have the 8 plus but don’t know which phone to get. I definitely want a better camera since I do you mine a lot (I do reselling). But the colors are not really my favorite for the 14 pro lineup. Plus people are saying the 14 lineup is pretty much the same as the 13’s just with a few tweaks. I’m part of boost mobile and the 13 pro max 256GB is on sale for $1,099. So I’m torn between the 14 plus, 14 pro max and the 13 pro max. Can someone recommend what phone to get?
I wanted to get an iPhone 14 pro but I’m really disappointed with the colors. I know it’s petty, I know I’ll get a case… but i wanted to actually be excited for the color of my new (super expensive) phone.
