Wanted to add… although the always on display does drain a “little more” battery, you can control how much of that “little more.” Note that when you have it in your pocket, it will turn the screen off, or if you place it face down on a table, it also turns the screen off. I like what apple did here, very clever to limit how much more battery you want to waste.
@@OkayestOfAllTime iPhone 14 max is definitely draining faster than iPhone 13 max. However, I trust Apple will iron out the drains with updates. Then this will be the top beast
I really hope Apple releases ways to customise your AOD so it can just be the time in white and the entire background is switched off. I really dig the minimalistic AOD something similar to Samsung's AOD. Also it'll help in saving more battery which is a huge plus.
What is the aspect ratio of this video? Looks like it used to go right up to where the notch was. Might need to rethink it now with the Dynamic Island.
The 14 pro is my very first iPhone and I am in love. I came from a background of flagship Droids then to Galaxy Notes and after there was no Note this year and a fair amount of camera envy I got a 14 pro and a watch 7 and so far I am in love.
Went from a XS Max, which I thought was a great phone, to the 14 Pro Max and the smoothness and snappiness are undeniable. Websites load quicker than on my M1 iPad Pro. Thoroughly impressed with it.
Been using my 14 Pro for almost a day now, at this point I’m simply just appreciating the significantly better battery life compared to my Xs, that phone after updating it to iOS 16 earlier this week had terrible battery life, like struggling to make it through the day on a charge
Hey Sam great Video! I ordered my wife the iPhone 14+ and I got the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Both in purple. I’m upgrading my wife from an iPhone 8 Max and I am upgrading from my XR Max. The key reason is our batteries are not lasting as long as they used to. Plus it would be nice to have a newer phone after several years. Keep up the great work! Love the videos and the Genius Bar podcast.
I’m upgrading to an iPhone 14 Pro Max from an 11 Pro Max, I felt like it was time man. Three years and I was feint for the 5G and the new Refresh rate among other things. And I’m gonna be holding on to this one for another three years…and if after those three years apple doesn’t come out with something that moves me I will get a new battery and keep rocking the same phone.
Or you can shut the raise to wake and just have the always on. It shuts off if you place it face down or put in pocket. I think raise to wake might use more.
It does not. The phone uses multiple sources. (I.E. your speed and suddenly deceleration, the intense tumble of the gyro scope, the noise of the car being thrown, different in airpressure, and g-force stimulus.) in theory it’s not likely to go off on accident.
You forgot to mention the satellite messaging and SOS that will be enabled in November. The satellite messaging service is one of the reasons I'm leaving Samsung to switch to the iPhone. If anyone else is switching or has switched in the past please let me know some things to look out for or anything to make the transition easier. Also on some of my apps that I paid for will I have to pay for the iOS versions or can I email the app company to transfer ECT. Thanks in advance. Awesome video as well
Most of the time you will have to pay again unless the app has a subscription/payment service independent of the App Store/ play store (think Netflix). Hope you enjoy your iPhone though! I had android phones up until the iPhone XR which has served me well but I just got the 14 pro and it’s a pretty nice upgrade
@@rollandsaxton Well if you do switch, I won’t sugarcoat it. Moving from android to iOS is a pain. Apple has an app called “move to iOS” it worked fine for me but it’s not the best. As a tip: you’re gonna want to forget your wifi network on your android phone so that it doesn’t disconnect from the WiFi network that your iPhone creates to transfer data. I also didn’t transfer calendar and contacts with the app because you can just sign in with your gmail account(s) in settings and get all your contacts and calendars that way. This is the best way to avoid duplicates. It’s a long process but if you ever upgrade your iPhone down the line to another iPhone it’s stupid easy to switch between them.
After some review it is looking like I may be moving away from the iPhone product line if I can not purchase one with a SIM card tray. Looking like no easy way to move from device to another device should it die. This is a deal breaker. At least I am going to get a USB type C port. For now sticking with my iPhone 11 Pro with A13 154.9 GFLOPS supercomputer in my pocket until Apple comes out with an iPhone that has SIM tray, and a USB Type C connector that I hope is either USB4 40, or USB4 80.
Awesome Sam-This was so cool and informative!!.I really appreciate your efforts in creating these very amazing videos!!!.That brightness level is so insane on the 14 pro, finally we can see it in the sun!. Also wow, that dual precision gps is so cool!.
I got the pro model in deep purple along with the lilac case, used loads of cases and found originals best for holding phone in a MagSafe car holder. Have left always on display activated as like to keep an eye on the clown fish
I’m not sure what you are seeing, I don’t see the dynamic island, on my phone, since I haven’t seen a screen capture yet, of the iPhone 14 pro or pro max…
@@Ryand0523 i’m on a 14 pro max and the dynamic island is a bit lower than the notches on previous iphones. it slightly cuts into videos like this that use 18:9 aspect ratio. most videos are standard widescreen 16:9 and it doesn’t cut into those.
Always on looks great on iPhone, but personally I’m gonna turn it off. It seems too distracting and if I wanna see my phone I’m good to just tap the screen.
I am surprised you haven't talked about my favorite feature. I figured in your last vid. About iOS 16 you would talk about it at your next vid. But you didn't. The battery percentage number instead of just the 🪫 🔋 And while you were able to see this on the last left screen it's wasn't the same.. I love this lol What phone am I rocking? iPhone 11 Pro Max Why? Because I can't afford to upgrade 😞
@@AlexandreeSantoss I know you didnt ask me but oh my god, coming from an xr the differenc eis so stunning, the screen, the camera, the 120hz, its so worth the debt. I'm deadas too (I got a gold IP14 Pro Max)
Always on display is a terrible thing… you always think you have a notification when you really don’t and it hurts your battery is a lose lose. There is nothing positive about having your screen on the whole time
I can already see people replacing the back glass then bitching when wireless charging/MagSafe stops working, then Apple declines service because of third-party modifications 😅
