Decided to stick with my 13 pro Max. The 14 PM is nice dynamic island is cool but what usually makes me upgrade outside of design is the upgrade in cameras which I don’t see a big jump in from the 13 to 14. Sticking with my 13PM doesn’t make me feel like I’m missing anything I did go ahead and get the Apple Watch ultra though that and the 13PM are the perfect combination to me
Honestly, they made the battery life too good on the 13 promax and I can’t go backwards. I’ll wait for the 15 Pro Max and if the battery on that isn’t an improvement I’ll continue to wait.
He means our iPhone 13 Pro Max better battery and not going to get 14 pro max to lose battery life with not much changed and wait for 15 pro max I think
I upgraded my iphone 13 pro max to a 14 pro max. worth it. simply because the 14 is slightly narrower than the 13. It greatly improves usability. I couldn't find a video mentioning it. by the way, take the pro max instead of the pro and enlarge the text in display mode. this makes cellphone use pleasurable and Apparently lighter. Better battery life in 14 pro max After turning off always-on display.
I just upgraded from my old red iPhone 7 plus to the newest iPhone 14 Pro Max. It’s been amazing not having to move the charger around and have it in a certain position just for it to charge🙏 🙌
@@Mzphatgurll what did you get? i got a pretty nice offer of 13 pro max 512 that around 70$ cheaper than iphone 14 pro max 256? should i take the 13 pro max or 14 pro max ?
I just got my 14 pro max from regular 11.. its a big upgrade for me and loving it. Though it was heavy compared to my 11, but in the long run you will get used to it..
Dynamic Island is cool, but not worth an upgrade. I love my 13 Pro Max. It has the best battery life of any phone I’ve ever owned. It’s kind of mind blowing. I’d say the only phone that ever came close was my Galaxy Note 4 back in the day.
just give apple your 13 pro max and they'll give you a $1000 bonus, and get the 14 pro max for 100 or 200 bucks only and thats it (the 14 pro max has even better battery)
So, here’s my story: I had never owned an iPhone before two days ago. Up to that point, I had been strictly an Android user putting stock in Samsung and its Note series of phones. I did sidestep twice-once when I turned to LG (the V10) and again with Sony (the Xperia XZ). Initially when news broke of the iPhone 14 Pro Max launch, I decided it was time to see how life was on the other side of the tracks. However, I got in late on the preorder craze and pretty much all colors and storage options were backed ordered to mid-October. Having always been a tech guy, the logical part of my brain kicked in to remind me that with new innovations comes a host of bugs and issues that will likely hinder the device at launch. Lo and behold, such hiccups came to fruition. So, I figured that with the price drop for the 13 series, it might be more prudent to pick one of those up and use that as my introduction to the iPhone ecosystem. I conducted a fair amount of research and decided that was a solid plan. One of the best decisions I ever made regarding cellular communication technology. I had been using a Note 20 Ultra since its launch back in 2020 and, for me, this was a major upgrade. I absolutely love my 13 Pro Max and though the 14 seems to boast a few advantages, I see them as superfluous for my immediate needs. I figure I will hold on to my 13 Pro Max for the rest of this year and see what the 15 has to offer next year. And besides, with a 30 day return/exchange policy, if I really feel like I am missing out then I can go back and pay the difference for the latest model. But, after all the careful consideration on my end and after countless review videos and articles discussing some of the 14’s issues (growing pains for new tech-Xbox 360 owners who got in on day one will know all about it), and after reading some of the comments for this video left by people who are still all-in on their 13 Pro Max, I think I am comfortable holding onto my 13 for the next year. However, as most of you are likely far more experienced with iPhones, I welcome your feedback with open arms. Thanks much!
you’re talking about the red ring of death, aren’t you? lol anyway, it’s pretty simple, really. If you already own an iPhone that is only one generation older, in this case the iPhone 13 series, then don’t bother upgrading. It’s just not worth it. However, if you’re coming from Android and this is the first time purchasing an iPhone like me, then the iPhone 14 series is the best choice. I’m going to keep using this phone (14 pro max) for about 4-5 years until it lasts.
definitely not worth the upgrade if you have the 13 already! i’m only upgrading my 13 pro bc i want a pro max version but if you already have the 13 pro max, you should be fine!
If you have a 13 pro max this upgrade doesn’t make sense. Everything is done through their software. It’s literally the exact same experience. Stop giving apple your phone to do the exact same thing on your phone. Don’t waste a thousand dollars for a moving notch that adds no real benefit. Don’t be sheep people
iPhone 14 pro max is my first iPhone ever. Charged it to 97% last night, woke up it was still at 97%. Just got the phone 20% battery notice at 10pm the next day after 8hr 35min of screen on time. Always on display on. Gotta say that’s mad impressive. Battery practically doesn’t move but it takes forever to charge compared to my Note 20 Ultra
Im thinking to buy a Iphone 14 pro max aswell after using huawei p20 pro for 4 years now but im stuck in between 14 pro & 14 pro max and also the colors its hard to decide :D
Yes, because the watts on the IPhones Charger is way less then an androids. I charge my 12 pro max with my S20 ultra charging case and problem solved. But it may caused battery damage due to big watt difference?
@@TheMolina297 I’m using a 45watt charger and it still takes forever. I’m worried it will do damage to the battery over time too so I’ll probably end up buying a 30watt. Wish apple would have supplied one in the box…
@@weirdcityboi Buy a 30 watt charger but not from Apple because their chargers make your Phone overheat. Try to find one that controls your battery and wont make your Phone overheat.
13 pro will be a hell of improvement over iPhone SE, I think the display will not even be comparable if you watch youtube or movies on it, battery life although 13 pro max has best, 13 pro will have probably a double of the SE (maybe even a bit more..) Camera significantly improved and a dozen of other things bv
Thanks for the review. I ordered the 14 pro and tried it for a week. Honesty, I got bored with the the DI and the iOS experience is the same across all iPhones. I decided to keep my 13 pro and returned to sender. My 13 pro is till. Powerhouse.
hello! I have been through a iPhone journey lately. First I had the iPhone 13 pro max, who I felled in love with. No bugs, no bad features and a rock solid phone. When iPhone 14 pro got announced I swapped to iPhone 14 pro Max, and my regret started from day 1. Dynamic island takes up a lot of screen estate with all the animations, that for me doesn’t seems necessary, and feels more like a gimmick. The battery life was slightly worse, and the feeling of using the 14pm was not as polished. I decided to sell my 14 pm, for buying a new 13pm for the total of the same money, just to get the same feeling back, and now I’m finally happy. I decided to even pay more for 13pm and upgrade the memory, since I wanna keep this phone awhile!
Todays my first day using my 14 pro max properly, it’s been nearly 17 hours and I’m still on 44%! Was on android before which would die in about 5/6 ish hours so a major upgrade for mee
Yeah, always on display and running background apps will do that ... I use both phones and I can tell you they aren't much different... iPhone lasts . Maybe an hour longer then my s22 ultra but the Samsung charges 2x as fast. So it's a wash. It also depends on your call carrier and the modem in your phone if you get bad signal it takes way more power away from your battery
@@whatsgoodmyguy4391 That’s true, I turned my always on display off and it leaves me a bit of charge & apps to sleep which helps the battery life, not sure why my S10 was so bad before even though I was doing the same¿
I upgraded to the 14PM from a XS Max and I’m amazed. The speakers are so much louder and more clear. The battery life is amazing in every way and the 120hz refresh rate makes the phone run and operate so smoothly. Not to mention all the cool camera upgrades and the thinner besils. The speed of the A16 is immaculately a upgrade from the A12 chip from my previous phone. dynamic island is pretty cool too but it’s not a selling point for me. Overall if your coming from an older iPhone then the iPhone 14 Pro is definitely a worthy upgrade in every aspect that’s important. However if you got a new iPhone such as the iPhone 13 Pro then I would hold off unless your really looking for a refreshed design and more camera improvements.
@@beyondthedetails nah, I didn’t want another notch phone. Also I wanted the thinner bezels of the 14 pro. And for 100$ more than the 13 Pro I got the new chip as well
Just bought the 13 Pro Max yesterday. My SE was stolen so I figured I needed an upgrade anyway. I am very impressed with the battery life. I still love an android.
So what happens when you get in a car crash and are unconscious, unable to speak while emergency is being called? Will this also be getting relayed, because if the emergency call center hears nothing, they might just hang up while you are dying in the car.
If you're in a car crash and unresponsive, it will alert emergency services and can relay your information. I believe they're also able to send notice that it was a crash -- similar to how Apple Watch can call emergency services if you're unresponsive after a fall. Your emergency contact will also be notified with your location too. Finally, emergency services is required to follow up on any call where no one responds. So even if they didnt relay your crash information, they'd still have your location and send out a first responder to check on you.
Andrew, I know the numbers say it’s better, but I’ve got a 13 Pro Max, and as a practical matter it’s the same phone as the 14. The camera may be better, but can you actually see the difference? No, you can’t. Will having a 14 add anything to my life I don’t already get from the 13? It won’t. I think Apple knows it’s time to move beyond small, incremental improvements. I’m watching for the breakthrough product they have to be working on.
Definitely loving the improved Face ID. Upgraded from a XS Max and it wasn’t the best unlocking the phone. And in apps it worked 60/40. Now it’s really smooth.
Quick question, has anyone tried to see if the 13 pro max cases fits the 14 pro max ? I know the dimensions are pretty much the same but the buttons on the sides were moved I read online, so is a 13 pro max phone case compatible with a 14 pro max ? Thanks
I went from the 13 pro max to a 14 pro max and With my experience the 14 pro max wins the new island may not be for everyone but it’s nice to have something different the aod is handy and the crash and satellite features are a game changer the battery life is fantastic just as good as the 13 pro max the cameras I didn’t really notice a difference but still fantastic
I own a Note 20 Ultra and would like to upgrade: - Shall I buy an iPhone 13 Pro Max because of its Battery? - Shall I buy an iPhone 14 Pro Max because of its Internal Storage speed? - Shall I wait instead of the iPhone 15 Ultra because of the USB-C [Thunderbolt 4]?
I think you should get the 14 promax only because every time they drop a new update, your phone’s battery will get more shittier which I’ve noticed beta anything they do that on purpose so you can buy the new phone
I have a 13 pro max atm my new 14 pro max Comes soon I’m so excited I don’t get me wrong to 13 Pro Max has magnificent battery life it’s a really good phone still to this day but I’d rather have a phone that has all the upgraded features and better camera quality since I like that kind of stuff I don’t know I feel like why not get the upgraded version?
A very helpful video. I have been an android user for many years but since purchasing an iPad this year, I have benefited very impressed with the build quality, so now looking at options of replacing my now quite old Huawei phone. I am particularly interested in the iPhone 14 Pro Max as it has a larger screen. I just have one question, does the iPhone support plugging in a pair of headphones (yes I know I sound a bit old school here🙂). I assume there is an adapter to plug into the phone to then plug in the headphones.
I’ve owned every iPhone since the X, upgraded every time a new model launched and all I’d say is besides the dynamic island, screen brightness and the Bluetooth connectivity is a lot quicker, surprised nobody has mentioned this, you’re not missing out, battery is worse than 13 pro max by a noticeable difference as well.
@@juanmiguelvarela6830 not at all mate, I have both side by side with equal amount of usage and screen time, the 14 pro max battery is quite a fair lot worse even with always on display turned off
@@halentipene5596 fake news! The 14pro max battery is amazing and it’s just as good as the 13. Wth would they put a worse battery into a better upgraded phone? I’ll wait
@@derekd8778 no, it is not as good, it has been stated the 14 pro max uses a slightly smaller battery, not by much, but it is smaller, no need to get defensive champ, and like I said I’ve ran the test side by side both at 100% battery health charged to 100% always on display on and then off both tests, the 13 pro max battery is better still.
Upgraded from the XS Max to a 13 pro max after finally selling my 6S & just purchased a 14 pro max after discovering apple is going away from the lighting port to usbc & I really didn’t feel like replacing my cables so might as well get the final phone that’s going to use the lightning port but I’ll have to now replace all of my cases. But that’s expected when upgrading to a new phone.
All good improvements. However I know the only two I’d really notice daily would be the island and brightness. The cameras should be an improvement, but really don’t seem to make much difference in the real world. I’m a year in on the 13 Pro Max and 100% bat health still. I will wait for next year. It still feels like it’s brand new to be honest.
@Philip Gregory That doesn’t appear to make a meaningful real world difference. Numbers are for the sheep to drool over mindlessly. And the benefits, little as they are only seem to kick in when pro raw is used. Otherwise we have a binned 12MP image anyway. And the file sizes are large.
@Philip Gregory Honey 😂 Could you tell me where I was flat wrong? I assume you mean factually, because opinions are not flat wrong, they merely differ. If we look at side by side comparisons of photos there’s almost nothing in it between the 13 and 14. Occasionally in extreme cases the 14 has visible, tangible improvements, like detail retention in zooming. But your average photo taken at an average distance is almost indiscernible. And that’s comparing side by side looking desperately for an improvement. Does the average person do that? The extra brightness is welcome, but the 13 Pro Max is plenty bright enough really. Battery life seems no better and probably a shade worse. Most of us consider that a very high priority issue.
I get the newest one every time since I use the apple upgrade program, and did again this time, but I am a little disappointed. I get they kinda took the lemons and made lemonade with the island, fair enough, but when I was cleaning off and packing up my 13 Pro Max it reminded me that the notch is really less obtrusive. And, I am at my desk most of the day and have a wireless charger right here, but I definitely notice the battery dropping faster - and that's with always on display turned off. I would like to be able to use it but it's just too bright, so will probably keep it off until a dedicated brightness setting is added, which hopefully it will.
Thank you for the video. I have a 13 Pro Max and I am wondering if I should upgrade and I had some questions. Your video answered the questions. I don't see the need to upgrade, at the moment.
went from a xs with a cracked screen and bad battery/camera to the 14pm. Huge upgrade. XS was a trooper though and I would have kept it had the battery not been so poor
just switch from s21 ultra to iphone 143pro max no regrets switching to ios im using android all my life but guess what im loving the ios much more than android
I hope that in march we will have a deep green or a blue iphone 14 pro max because something i miss from the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the great sierra blue and the alpine green colors
Well explained ! Easy and clear ! I have 13 pro max and Im not happu with thr camera that mucj cant take a pic when something is moving its all blurry I like that video pro feature on 14 thats cool as well as the sos call Thats need
I upgraded to 14PM from 7 plus after 7 years of using Iphone 7PLUS. I must say Iphone is Iphone, there is no comparision with them, even my 7Plus had no issue except for having a small storage. therefore, this year I decided to upgrade. and after getting 14 PM, I feel like buying a lamborghini haha. everything is new for me. however, those who already got 13MP, there is no reason to jump to 14PM except dynamic island. .
should i upgrade from my 12 pro max? it's 128gb but the storage is full and the battery health is at 85% - still not sure though. i love the notch on my phone!
@@mohammedjassim578 i upgraded to a 256gb iphone 14 pro max. it's such a nice phone, it's brighter, has better sound quality and the camera is better - not a massive difference structurally but i've had it coming up to 6 months and my battery health is still at 100%!
So a year later I don’t care about the 15 and was thinking the 14pro max so now I think I’m the 14pro max but what is the issue with it that some are talking about 14 pro max issue?
Hello, could someone please help me out. I’m heading towards to get the iPhone 14 pro max (I need a pro max bc I have biggish hands) but I’m seeing in comments it takes forever to charge and there not a huge difference from the iPhone 13 pro max. I want to have this phone for a good 4 or so years the color or gb is no problem. However I have an iPhone 8 and need a big change. If I were to get the iPhone 14 pro max what would be the cons? So far I’ve heard that it’s pretty much the same just a few things r different like the island and camera quality. I think it’s like 100$ more which isn’t a lot more but I’d like to have the phone I get for awhile. Is the charging for the iPhone 14 pro max take very long? And how much longer does it last for battery. I already know I want 512 gb and silver but should I get a iPhone 13 pro max or iPhone 14 pro max.
I am concerned about this also, as a die hard android user wishing to switch to iphone 14 pro max, already ordered but have options to cancel as its not yet shipped, funds are not yet debited also. Confused like you bro, between 13 and 14 pro max.
I have the 13 pro Max silver, and so far perfect. I would definitely buy the 13 PM, since there isn’t that much of a difference between 14 PM and 13 PM. AND 13 PM is cheaper. And the battery, I mean 😍
I’ve had 5 different Iphones. My first Iphone 4 didn’t have a otterbox, and I broke it 4 times in 2 years. I ponied up for the otterbox, and haven’t broken a Iphone since. I wore a otterbox out, and got it warranted out for 4 dollars. Otterbox is, and WILL always be my brand of phone case
My cousin upgraded from xs max to 14 max pro. He has a lot of issues with slow internet using T-Mobile. He didn't have those problems with xs max. T-Mobile said that they were upgrading towers, that was like 10 months ago and he still has problems. I have no clue why he's paying T-Mobile $18 for the insurance if he's not going to use it.
I deff like it. I’ve heard some people say it took hours to swap there old iPhone to this one it literally took me 3 min. I love that I feel it did a better job transferring my iPhone 12 Pro Max to the 14 pro max cuz when I had the X Max Pro and upgraded to the 12 it didn’t seem to seamlessly transfer EVERYTHING I still had to go in and add many passwords and what not. But this in under 5 min did it all. I only needed my phone lock code and my Apple ID password and even w that my iPad did what I couldn’t as I have a separate Apple ID for buying apps I forgot that password and one min was fixed through my iPad. I like the better features they have with the pics. I love how I can make a gif out of a live pic. It’s been fun playing w the camera and what it can do w the photos. I had a Samsung 10 and it sucked imo also the Google pixel 6 plus which I liked that one but I still feel apple is a safer way to go. I am an artist and anyone who is knows apple can’t be beat when it comes to drawing so I like having all my stuff connected. I’ve had an apple phone and iPad won’t they came out w them and I seem to upgrade on the even numbers idk why just happened that way. My mom I just got her the 13 pro and I like mine better. I’ve felt the battery is excellent and I use my phone always but for me as long as I can charge it while I sleep idc. The battery lasts me all day I listen to a lot of Spotify and I’ve had no complaints about this battery. I only wish they would make a phone the pencil works w as well that’s my only complaint. If u have anything less then a 12 pro max I say upgrade they r giving great deals my 14 cost me 99$ I did trade in a iPhone pro max 12 with only 128 memory and got a $1000 credit. T-Mobile is great about this. However I did see Verizon has same offer I just hate Verizon. With all phone co’s u will have bad customer support and deal w dumb things but T-Mobile hands down is the best one imo. I hated Verizon. Every month I got the privilege of calling and Bn charged 7$ cux they screwed something up. My girls had AT&T and there crap when it comes to reception. 6 months now off Verizon 6 people on our bill an Apple Watch and internet and I pay less then 35$ a month per phone w the best me tenta max plan they have. We r military so they give the best deal and no other cell provider gets a signal on the base so I’m living this. Thank u T-Mobile for helping me get this phone and it’s purple. I love that. 😂
lets be honest, other than all the tech bs Apple spits out these day they're pretty much the same phone at this point only difference is the 13 pro max's battery is a little better and the 14 pro max has the dynamic island, nobody uses these phones long enough to even detect much of a difference the only difference is the cost. I feel like both Apple and Samsung should stop these annual releases that they do, the phones don't improve enough each year for them to warrant the cost in price as well as how much a phone gets devalued as soon as the next one gets announced
also you spreading NONSENSE! about pixel binding and having more light it's NOT true. 12MP have BIGGER pixels, what pixel binding is doing is just trying to achieve what 12MP already achieved -bigger pixel! So saying that 48MP is better in light perspective is NONSENSE! To be able to say this you should know exact pixel size for both 48MP bindex pixels vs 12MP single pixel and ONLY THEN say that binded pixel is bigger.
