Share your thoughts, feedback, and experiences and enjoy the video :) I have had these iPhones for 1 year already! After one year with the 13 pro max, I was really happy to downsize to the 14 pro. It is so much more comfortable in the hand, and much better for phone calls. The battery is more than enough for a whole day.
How tall are you? Big hands? I have a Pro now but have 3 days to return to Pro Max but I wear a lot of fitted clothing and really don't want a huge bulky phone in my pocket.
The 14 is the first iPhone I seriously started to consider. I've always been an android lover but the crash detection and other featured added is so tempting. Especially those 2000 nits screens!!
@@SuperBoop I've considered jailbreaking mine, but haven't yet. I used to root all my droids back in the day. Almost bricked a couple here and there lol
Same! Been using Android since 2009. But I have a Macbook Pro and iPad Pro for design and engineering. So I decided to switch it up with my phone. But the crash detection is another reason I switched because of my parents who drive and are now Senior Citizens. I feel Apple Eco system is much better...I'll miss Android.
I bought the pro max (coming from iphone 11 pro) and after a few days of use I have had to move onto the pro version. Its really unconfortable the bigger size, not only on the width but also the height, and almost every button to go back or forward is upside as same as the dynamic island for example. To be honest I am a very one-handed user and the pro is just perfect for me the size, Im much faster with it. With the max most of the time I made mistakes when swapping between apps, typing and specially moving to a specific part of a video. Its true that the battery dies sooner but tbh I am charging it every day anyways
I’m going through it right now choosing!! I got both to get a feel for which one I was going to keep and I kinda narrowed it down to the pro, but It’s just something about the Max that keep pulling me back, lol
i moved from the iphone 8 to the latest iphone pro max, and it was a bit of a tricky call to make in complete honesty. I read about a lot of people downsizing after the 11 or 12, and tryning the phones out in the store didnt help my view of the max, as it was almost slipping out of my hands. however having already pre ordered the max for the longer battery life before i could see the phone in store, i decided to let it arrive before hassling with a return or exchange for the regular. i have bang on average hands, and the display was certainly large, however i think a lot of people are overplaying the clumsiness of it. Its definitely less ergonomical, thats no secret, but provided your hands arent tiny im able to confidently and regularly use it one handed without any kind of problem. The big thing was putting a case on it, once cased it became much easier to hold, and furthermore in an effort to drop my massive 1.5 inch thick wallet i got the apple wallet to radically downsize. If your having trouble holding the max phone i properly recommend considering the wallet, when paired with an apple case the magnets are surprisingly strong on the new versions, so much sop that it becomes a grip on the back of your phone, It hasnt detached by mistake or gotten in the way even once, and having it on makes the phone that much easier to handle with one hand. thats just my experience though, im sure different people will look at it differently. The battery life is a dream though, just dont recommend using bare
I have an 11 Pro Max if I decide to upgrade this year or next year I’ll definitely go for the regular size pro this phone is so heavy sometimes specially when I’m falling asleep or waking up it won’t be too that much smaller since the 11 Pro Max is 6.5 and the years 14 pro and most likely 15 pro is going to stick with the 6.1 inches and I’m going to save $100 this time for choosing a smaller model
just switched from s22 ultra to iphone 12 pro max. had samsung for 6 years just want a change. the 12 pro max came out the same year as the s20 ultra and neither of them are bad in 2022 at all. ready to upgrade to the iphone 14 pro max in a few months 👏🏻
Bought iPhone 14 pro awesome phone . Upgraded from 12 pro max , at first I missed the bigger screen now I am slowly getting used to it . Now I won’t upgrade any more till iPhone 18 comes out. Too expensive but worth it 1000000%
@@gabrielguerrero9071 it lasts about 9 hours for regular use, like social media consumption and watching youtube and stuff like that. heavy use like gaming i think like 3 or 4 hours dk tho
@JaySupa I just like phones I can use one handed. Also, I like phones that are lightweight. I can respect if you like large phones, because most people like them instead. They just don't work for me
I ordered the Deep Purple 14 Pro Max. My current phone is 6.67". It would be hard to go down in size for me after being used to the screen real estate a larger phone provides. One handed mode helps a lot on the reachability issues .
Out of all these reviews. I just can not believe how many iPhone users don't use swipe. I can not imagine texting normal ever again. Most android users I know have been on that forever since we've had it forever. But it makes texting 100x more enjoyable imo.
I came from an iPhone 13 Pro Max and the 14 pro max is noticeably heavier. I’ve had wrist pain these past few days. Tempted to exchange but don’t feel like going through the whole process.
I've had the Pixel 6 Pro 6'7 inch and now S22 Ultra 6'8 inch and trading it in to get the IPhone 14 Pro. I was an avid Samsung Note user starting back to the Note 3. I'm finally going to the "dark" side lol of Apple, thought I'd switch things up. I'm actually kind of tired of purchasing big phones in general. as Nick alluded to, I'm more on the active side and on the go and I just want something more manageable in the hand and my pockets. I constantly feel the need to take my phone out of my pocket where ever I go lol with the S22 Ultra, by the way which is a great phone.
I have a oneplus 7pro(6.7 inches) also moving to apple. My concern is the weight my one plus 7pro is heavy and it weighs the same as the 14 pro. 14 Pro max weighs 250 grams, that's concerning cuz my pinky takes a hit with 206 grams, 250 grams seems like it will break my pinky. I also feel the 14 pro has a larger audience to sell if you ever want to sell it because not everyone can handle a 14 pro max.
@@g.t7380 I have the 14 Pro now and it did take some time getting used to the smaller screen. Nevertheless, it has grown on me. I have the gold color with umber color leather apple case. You’re correct about the weight for it to be only 6’1 screen display you can tell. I remembered my girlfriend had the 13 Pro max and while holding it I was thinking man this feels uncomfortable lol. I think the pro version is refreshing in the sense that it’s more pocket friendly and manageable to maneuver with one hand. Plus with the dynamic island and the drop down menu is easier to use with the pro compared to pro max.
I am upgrading from a 7+. It is a beast with getting dropped probably thousands of times. Battery life has declined, but I rarely need to charge it while at work unless I have constant phone calls on it. Do you think a 14 Pro/Pro Max will be as durable? I worry when I upgrade that the phone will be like one of my iPhones that didn’t even last 18 months. What is the viability of using the Max and not having to upgrade my iPad? I really dislike typing on my iPhone 7+, thus I am always using my iPad - search, text, read, it is all done on my iPad. Great video. Very informative.
I’m currently using 11 pro & I remember when I bought 11 pro I regretted my decision of not getting the max model but I don’t know why now I’m liking pro model more.. but max has its own advantages over the pro like bigger screen, bigger battery, slightly louder speakers, better heat dissipation etc so I’m planning to go for max this time & if I didn’t like it then maybe next time I’ll go for smaller version
I thought purple was the color to get, but I am liking that black. I think I would get a Pro, iPhones are already heavy, I agree the Max should have multitasking or something for all that screen.
Thank u. I have the se 2nd Generation. So I haven’t decided which one I want yet. I know I have to upgrade mine is so slow losing service. Thank u so much
Nick do 14pro vs 13 pro battery drain test m about to buy one of these was going for 14pro but everyone's saying that the 14pro battery is worse than 13pro despite have 105mah extra. I believe after watching that my doubts will be cleared.
I’m switching from a 7 plus so I may go with the pro max, but I’m not sure about the extra weight, especially the top heaviness with the giant cameras. I think I’m just gonna have to try them out in store!
same here, switching from 7 plus, I didn’t have the chance to try the pro max in person yet. did you try? i feel like the pro is more size similar to the 7 plus cz there are no bezels on the 14. the max would seem much bigger than the 7 max which would make it an inconvenient upgrade, don’t you think?
@@vendita2 the iPhone 14 pro max is actually pretty much the exact same overall size as the 7 Plus! It is slightly heavier, but enough to change how you handle the phone. I went to the store and ended up going with a purple 14 pro max. It won’t get here until end of October but not in too much of a hurry to upgrade. The 14 pro is a little smaller than the 7 plus, about the size of the screen area (without the bezels) on the 7 plus. I’m not sure how the iPhone 14 or iPhone plus compare, I didn’t want either of those so I didn’t even look at them haha
I’m switching from a 8+ and also have a hard time deciding. Pro max is the same size as 8+ but looks bigger because of the larger screen. Pro looks more portable/comfortable but being used to a big phone for the last 5+ years I’m afraid I would have a hard time getting used to a smaller one😬
@@birdiexoxo yea i also don't care about the regular iphone 14. anyway thanks for the reply, i think i will get the 14 pro max since I'm used to the big phone, but i guess the extra screen space is gonna take some time to get used to. enjoy your new phone!!
@@nejagorkic3344 I'm having the same dilemma 😩, the pro is much more convenient and portable and it also has bigger screen size than the 7/8+, yet we are already used to the big phone and we like it so the pro max should still be comfortable... I don't think we can't settle this unless we hit the show room lol
If u plan to stick with the phone for more years I think the pro max is the way to go Cause of the battery life My 13 pro max had 100% battery health after a year and still more than 8 hours of screen on time While my 14 pro has 6-7 hour and its new I get it The pro max is too big Thats why i went for the pro but i think battery life is just too important if u planning for long term I didnt regret of course to get the pro cause i had the pro max for 4 years and i dont like brick phones😅
I really like the size of my 14 pro max- could be even bigger in my opinion. BUT this weight haha soooo freakin heavy- my right arm even hurts after 1 hour of use because of the weight. The stainless frame is amazing, but i would choose the aluminum one instead of the stainless steel because of the weight
Gonna go for the 14 Pro Max this year coming from the regular size 12 Pro. Camera bump looks silly on this years 14 Pro which is the only reason why I’m going for the Max this year
if my main focus is gaming and comfort lvl is also important but dont want to compromise on battery. for eg.minimum of 2.5 hrs gaming without much battery drop what should i choose ?pls someone suggest... and also not loosing battery health ....
thats a hard topic, i am also on the same page as you. regular 14 pro supports only 60 fps or 90 fps (I've seen many videos gaming) 14 max supports up to 120 fps on some games like genshin and stuff like that. but max is uncomfy to hold but max also has a lot of battery its up to preference honestly
I went from a 12 pro max to a 14 pro and the typing is whats killing me with the smaller device. The cramped feeling is real and with bigger hands it's not the best experience. Luckily I am able to swap it for a 14 pro max.
I just got the pro two days ago and it’s very comfortable…I’m happy with it. I have small hands so it’s perfect.I got the purple because purple is my favorite color 💜😘👌🏽
There was a time where getting a max(back then it was called a plus) was necessary! A 6s plus was 5.7 inches! This was the only time I considered the larger size! Today I have been rocking the regular pro! In retrospect they are larger than past older generations! As far as daily activities I find the pro perfect for me due to a couple of things! I have an Apple Watch so I don’t always have to be on my phone for certain essentials! The smaller pro is perfect for my hands and enables me to do simple tasks with one hand! As far as media consumption it is perfectly fine! I wouldn’t rely on it completely because I have iPad I can watch shows on! As far as battery Is concerned it gets me thru the day! I also have an apple battery for days that I will be out of reach of a charger! Weight is perfect and I can have the confidence of putting into my pockets without the need to slamming the phone in a restaurant table or the floor in a gym (Something I see quite often)! As an active person I feel the pro balances daily tasks without it ever being a big reliance on things I can use a computer or iPad for urging out for a jog! My advice is to give it a chance and you will adapt and fine out you might not need a max after all!
Great review Nick! I just ordered the 14 Pro. I am transitioning from a LG v30 6" screen and mainly picked the Pro rather than the MAX because I can't imagine carrying a phone any larger in my pocket. Sure, I would enjoy more screen real estate with the MAX but their are tradeoffs and weight and bulkiness are not the ones I want to experience.
I’ve iphone Pro Max for the past 6 yrs, the reason was always battery related & screen real estate, but this year i decided to downgrade to the 14pro and i don’t regret one bit! The phone has enough battery to last you all day fully charged! And it’s just so much better in hand, doesn’t stick out ya pocket & just perfect size overall, yes a bigger screen it
14 pro all the way. i had the XS Max at one point and that was borderline too big for me. The new Maxs are gigantic, the weight and size are impossible for any one handed use and comfort is a huge thing for me. I feel the Pro is more than enough, honestly could go even slightly smaller for me
Unless you’re like a rich body builder the Pro max is probably going to be heavy for most people that’s something apple can improve to make their pros lighter in weight
Went with the pro max cause I didn’t want to go small and regret it. So far 2 weeks and I love it. Battery life is amazing and the huge screen is so nice for my gaming and RU-vid watching.
@@soycalitoss no regrets! The phone is definitely heavier but the pros outweigh the cons. I don’t see myself going back to a regular sized iPhone anymore.
I LOVED the fact that you talked about holding the iPhones horizontally to take photos one handed! That’s why I always buy the pro. Not Max - the max is too big for me to hold one handed…
If I could get the battery life of the 14 pro max in a 14 pro then I’d get the 14 pro. However this isn’t possible which is why I ordered the 14 pro max.
Have had both for two weeks now. Keep going back to the pro because I find it way more comfortable for my active life style. One hand use is nearly impossible on the pro max. Taking pictures and videos is much easier on the pro, the max is too big and unstable to hold with one hand and take a shot. On the one or two days I do more desk time the pro max is ok because I don’t have to carry it around. But if I’m doing desk time I much rather use my iPad mini to consume media vs the pro max any day of the week. I did spend 3 days on a satellite office and the pro was just fine to watch RU-vid videos throughout the day. As a hiker and runner the pro is the way to go for me. Took the pro max for a run and it was terrible flapping against my leg the entire time. During a 10 mile hike the pro max became uncomfortable in my pocket as well to the point I had to put it in my back pack. This was ok except for the fact that every time I wanted to take a picture or video I had to stop and take the phone out of my backpack. So for me based on my lifestyle and experience with both phones I am keeping the pro as my phone and selling the max.
@@MiguelBandito1988 I feel you, felt comfortable in mine too but went with the Pro. I have an iPad and the latest MacBook and just felt like overkill. But def a sick phone and think you can't go wrong either way! Fyi, I'm 6 foot, 170 pounds and lift regularly.
I am using iphone 14pro max 128gb storage version and I am able to use pro res and raw photography at 48MP but then you mentioned that in 128gb we can't do pro res and all?
I’m switching from a 13 pro max to the 14 pro because in my experience the max is hella big and not suitable for everyday use. I always go with light colours since the 13 pros had the sierra blue but in the 14s they released the purple which isn’t made for me so I went for the gold
Sorry for the late response michael but no I have big hands and I really the love the size and shape of the xs max and 11 pro max but now the 12s, 13s ans 14s pros are just extra big
like the bigger screen of the pro max but got the regular 14 pro in space black. it's more pocket friendly and better in hand feel and that's what a portable phone should be. very useful video btw.
I went from a 12 pro to the 14 pro max. Love the bigger size and screen. Perfect on aging eyes. Taking some time to get used to. I’ve never had a phone this big before. Not since my 8 plus
Hi i have to ask you Nick. Why does apple say the iphone 13 starts at like 600 but in my country it still is 900 eur? I thought they would lower the price at apple reseller stores... but they're keeping them high still😭😭
It's your country's import tax, they tax certain parts of the phone. Also I believe countries include tax in their prices and we don't so it looks cheaper.
I’ll never understand how people can consider a 240g device “too heavy”.. It’s literally just 30 grams heavier than the regular pro. What are y’all made of? Skin n’ bones with just a minimal amount of muscle?
I've ordered the iPhone 14 pro max. Love the larger screen. and battery life. Coming from the 13 pro and previously to that the 12 pro max. I miss the max size phone and my eyes are not what they used to be 😂
I went with the pro max for the same reason. My vision isn’t what it used to be and a bigger screen has improved my experience a lot. I’m loving the new pro max.
14 Pro max is very very big and too heavy. It’s like a tablet. I think 14 Pro is the best for everyday use. I chose 14 pro and I’m so glad about my devision.
You didn't mention that it's easier to reach the island with single hand on the Pro. But the island also eats up a bit more space (relatively speaking) on the Pro. So, pros and cons for the Pro.
Nick, I hate you! I just got the 14 Pro (upgrade from the 11) and was just getting used to it, when I watched this video and it totally got my mind going for the 14PM. Long story short, I ordered the 14 Pro Max just a few minutes ago! Your analysis brought up some great points--things I hadn't really thought about, that mattered to me. Thank you for a GREAT video! Loyal subscriber here. (Just kidding on the "hate you" line, of course lol).
On point video comparison of the 14 pro vs 14 pro max. Thank you so much really loved the video. And clearly it has helped me decide on which phone to pick up. 😊
I currently have an android, and it is the first phone I've ever had. It is absolutely HUGE. I would love to downsize because this phone is just so big. I call it my tablet🤣. This video really puts these phones into perspective, and was super helpful
