I know that on some phones if you don’t disconnect the battery when changing the screen it can blow the backlight. Where is the battery connector? Can the red shield be removed easily?

One step is missing, checking out if the new screen is 100% working. There are some screens which are not the best quality and always need to test them first out before closing the phone up

I am currently doing my first iPhone 14, and I had to do the back, front and battery, so it's been quite the journey. I have done a 12 numerous times and figured if I can handle that, I should be able to do this. I will let you know how it turns out!

because of making faster money... and lazy technician. Once a technician gets shorts on logicboard because of 5-10 more minuts of work then he will know next time better

@@Beast_Son_GohanIncorrect. The dcreens on the new iPhones are OLED , not LCD, and therefore won’t short the phone as long as it’s turned offpriperly beforehand.

from technician to a technician please disconnecting the power cable first if the touch screen not working or turn the phone off and then remove the cracked screen. How you working is quiet dumb because the way you fix the screen can cause shorts on the logicboard... I know lot of "technician" work that way to make faster money but ones the logic board gets shorts because of 5-10 more minutes of work you will not do it again.

I have an iPhone 14 I watched this to repair. Should I just turn off the phone before completing the steps shown or is it necessary to disconnect the battery? If so can you explain where to find this?

@@chrisb6475 honestly man I just did a repair on one and I did not want to risk breaking the back glass in the process of removing it to disconnect the battery cable. I couldnt slide to power off because the touch screen was broken. I did the repair without disconnecting the battery - removed old screen, transferred over faceID to new screen and plugged connectors back in. At first the screen was blank, so I did a hard restart and that fixed it and no issue. If you have fixed iphones before and know what you're doing, you'll probably be ok without disconnecting the battery BUT YES you should always disconnect the battery cable when working on devices. In my case, I did not have a hot plate to heat the back of the phone so I did not want to risk cracking the back glass when removing
