THAT'S the answer I wanted to hear.. we want to color grade but we don't want those MASSIVE HUGE file sizes.. so that's the best option out there as of now. :)
Good concise video, what RU-vid should be comprised of IMO. I ended up buying a decent M.2 2230 NVMe SSD Enclosure and drive (magnetic) for my iPhone 15 pro. The benefit of log format cannot be understated for that glossy professional finish, team that up with a decent gimble and you can seal the deal on a lot of B roll if not some inspirational A roll too.
log will have the most data, usually it's the same logarithmic gamma curve that the sensor has, (not manipulated). I will likely use free davinci resolve to convert from log to pq, then fcpx for pq to hlg on a pq timeline MaxCLL 1000. the only reason I wouldnt shoot log is if the bitrate is an issue, otherwise definitely hdr
Saurav, that's a great video; thank you. I wonder if you outcome would be the same if you had compared ProRes HDR with Apple Log. Looking at my CIE Chromaticity chart in Davinci Resolve I see that the same scene shot in both formats has the ProRes HDR showing quite a bit more range than the Apple Log. I appreciate it will have Apple's sharpening but it would be an interesting comparison for those who saty ina HDR workflow.
I too wonder if there is a thumb drive fast enough to record externally instead of a Samsung T7 SSD...there is a samsung 256GB thumb drive but reviewers say that it's not the same built quality as the T7, that it gets very hot while recording and the write speeds are not very good...about 110MB/s...
@@artartistmjp thank you sir for suggesting. But I bought Samsung s24 ultra, and I found it much better than any iPhone it's stabilization, video quality , autofocus everything is amazing.
Bro i am going to start the vlogging with iphone15 pro max ,i dont want to color grade could you please tell me the settings i should do before video start
great video...I just got the 15 pro max and I want to shoot to an external drive...do you know which flavour of Apple Pro Res does the Iphone 15 pro max record? I mean is it Apple Pro Res 422HQ? or just Apple Pro Res? I think these files are way too big. I have a Samsung T7 SSD but I wonder if using a Samsung thumb would work. Do you know of a thumb drive USB- C fast enough to record Apple Pro res 422 externally? I know my Samsung T7 SSD will but I mean a thumb drive. I just don't see how I could attach the drive to the phone in case I wanted to use a gimbal like a Osmo mobile 6...I want to use the Black magic app and record to Apple Pro Res 422 LT which is very good and better than H.265. But I realize that the way to get the most is to record in apple Pro res and log...hmm.. thanks for the video.
Sir, i captured prores video with my iphone 14 pro max and tried to edit it in a laptop(msi Bravo 15 ryzen 7 octacore 5800H) but it doesn’t play, could you please tell me what processor i would need to make to colour grade or edit the video?
I appreciate your input, and it's true that some Android devices introduced similar features earlier. However, it's important to note that the implementation and quality of features like log and ProRes can vary between brands and models. Apple's iPhone 15 Pro Max is known for its exceptional camera capabilities and the refinement of these features. Different users have different preferences, and both ecosystems offer unique advantages
