@@M_Hurrara probably not if you did not see this. Geekbench iphone won 3d mark iphone won. Going back tru apps samsung lagged. Browsing tru pages iphone won. Maybee you should watch it again
I'm an Apple fan and have always been an Apple fan. Gotta say I'm really surprised with the S23 Ultra, like shocked with how it beat the 15 Pro Max. The only excuse I can fester is that the apps have yet to optimise for the A17 Pro, but that's all I got... 😂 Really stoked to see what Samsung announce early next year!
Galaxy almost always wins in every category!! But this years Iphone is actually the first year that they've been great! The USB-C is definitely one of the biggest and best changes!
The A17 pro chip is more powerful than the Snapdragon. Opening apps faster means nothing because it’s a simple task. This is why the A17 pro chip can now play PS4 level games and use ray tracing. Samsung will probably catch up with the rumored Snapdragon 8 gen 3 but I still suspect that the A17 pro will be more powerful still.
10:05 The reason why you have to swipe twice in the S23U with games, which you translated as worse animations, is default gesture behaviour in android OS to avoid accidental app exits with single swipes. You should have known that...
@@mazdaxc90 Go to the time stamp. He was using the double swipe to make a point which isn't valid. I'm sure you aren't familiar with the android OS as well 🤔
There are much better phones in China that offer far more than Samsung or Apple. I think that there are a lot of Samsung superfans that are caught in that cycle of Samsung marketing where reality passes by.
Great comparison. But like you said, at the end of the day it all comes down to which ecosystem you've bought into. I've been an Apple user for about 15 years now, and it just wouldn't make sense to me to switch to Samsung, seeing as I'm using the Apple Watch, AirPods Pro, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and the iPhone Pro Max. It all just works so seamlessly for me, especially with the great continuity features. It's probably similar for Samsung users. I'm not sure why I still love watching these kind of reviews, I sometimes spend hours on RU-vid watching these kind of tech videos, but I know I'll stick to my comfortable ecosystem.
Thanks for the reply! I totally agree, I’m glad you checked it out! I also watch other comparison videos even though I don’t plan on buying certain products for the fun of learning the differences! The ecosystem is so sticky for Apple though once you’ve invested it’s just much smoother to stay put
In developer setting change animation speed to 0.5 and it's more smooth. I've been using s23u for past 3 months , and it's been really joy of fresh air.
Nothing gets me more hyped about phones than seeing your speed tests Nick! Always love to see you throw down the two best phones of the current generation.
@@OggyChwan but no one talks about it.. a bit shame...Isn't it? 🤣🤣 And you are talking to a person who is using pixel 6 pro, Samsung galaxy s23 and the i phone 12 and 15 pro... 🤣🤣😘
Having used the S23U since it's released, I am very happy and satisfied. Iphone 15 pro is a great phone, but I don't think it is worth upgrading from S23U.
No one talks about how much more an andriod has to process vs apple. Apple is simple and to the point with most of its UI vs Samsung able to multitask and very responsive to in n out of applications Not only loading apps, downloading media, streaming media. It comes down to a full immersive experience and definitely the S23 is top class when it comes to it.
@@crimsontide4415 actually they weren't useless words, he was just speaking out facts when it comes to capability. The truth is these 2 phones are very fast, but the main difference is the ecosystem. ios ecosystem doesn't really have anything to offer to really put the fast processing to the test, android on the other hand can run 3 or more apps at the same time. S pen can even pin notes and snippets while doing all those things. I usually play games, do youtube, while running teams at the same time without any problems. The pop up, bubble, and clip to top/side feature is very useful.
@@Lolllllllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzz 😂 Wrong. 14 Pro would have done as well as the 15 Pro here. Go export some images if you want to test the processors. The A16 is more powerful than this Snapdragon, much less the A17
@@BC08 rlly thats why a16 lost most of the speed tests between the two and exporting vids unless the apps is extremely optimized for iOS, its always been samsung’s win

My Friends have i phone 14 pro max & my S23 ultra has already beaten their phones in every rendering test & speed test, they got humiliated... S23 ultra absolutely blaze through them ...and now seeing this video i cant believe that it has beaten even the next i phone 15 pro so convincingly like peace of cake🙂...now just imagine when the i phone 15's real competitor S24 ultra will drop whats gonna happen when s23 already beaten it..simply WOW, AMAZING !!
I used to not like iPhones , but I like the iPhone 15 Pro Max now. It seems like a great phone! I love that titanium. I still prefer the S23 Ultra. I like the iPhone 15 Pro better than the Max but I just wish that Apple put all those "Pro" features on the regular pro like the 5x optical zoom, and the 25x digital zoom. Edit: After seeing that the iPhone 15 Pros are very fragile and overheat, idk if I like it anymore.
That titanium barely does anything to the phone's performance or quality. Rather it can be detrimental to iPhone's durability. Dont get brain washed by Titanium.
Fun fact, it's only a 1mm layer of titanium, it's regular aluminium underneath, plus the titanium gets scratched more easily than aluminium or stainless steel! Still love titanium?
I love both iPhone and android. One of my fav phones to this day is the galaxy s9. I loved the screen and design over the x and the XR- 11 at the time. Cool to see how android keeps improving drastically
Why is it always the samsung users that have to make these comments? Seeking attention? I mean, I have barely seen iPhone users maje such comments even though iPhone probably has a larger market share.
where? anyone can make a comments about their phones. I have a 14Pro Max and I still get jealous seeing the galaxy 23 ultra being faster than my phone and even the 15 Pro Max. It's just a comment it doesn't hurt anybody@@neon_arch
@@EmmieSuksaiThe phone mentioned here is Pro Max not a regular pro, so it costs similar to that of S23 Ultra which is 1200usd. One can get s23U at much lower price now with offers as it is almost 6 months old at this point.
Love both of these phones, and I own both of them but I really love the s23 ultra. I think this is the best phone ever. The iPhone is a great phone as well but there’s something about that ultra… great video!
You stand alone I fear, I had a S23 Ultra for 1 week before returning it back to Samsung, also tried a Z Flip 5 for that matter and still returned it within 1 week. Android has a lot of catching up to do with regards to quality.
I've got an S23+, not an Ultra, but it's got the same chip and OS/UI version as the Ultra, and I've been super happy with the speed of my phone. Top tier for sure. I had an S21 before this and that phone was still very fast when I ditched it. I just wanted a bigger phone and newer camera tho.
Hey man following u for speed tests and love ur content. Only question is…did u run all apps once on the iphone since its new and all? So that u know its better optimized to open them again. Like the s23 ultra must have opened them quite a few times, i have the s23 ultra tho and i know its a beast
I think my biggest issue is with iOS, it just looks more compact and busy on the iPhone's screen compared to Samsung's which looks cleaner and better organised. I'm sure that developers will optimise their apps to make them more responsive on iPhone in time though, so I wouldn't worry about that.
great video nick :) excited to see more of iPhone 15 comparison videos from you! I do have one doubt bro. I kept your video at 1080p 60fps but it seems like it is restricted to 30fps for some reason... Like we can appreciate the smoothness and animations of the displays in 60fps content. this video somehow got locked at 30fps :(
S23 is a beast, I don't have one as I have the smaller S23 5G, best phone I ever owned coming from Iphone 11, I was unleashed in S23 I have been in IOS phone for about 7 years, I have never new the customization you can do with an Android phone..
I have both and am torn between them, but I wish the clock app, delayed messages, and the round icons from Samsung were on iPhone. That’s what would more likely do it for me
Yes, since Samsung got sacked and no longer make the Snapdragon chips things have got better. It is an oxymoron that people praise the S23U despite its improvements being because it no longer supplies the chips! People forget easily when they love a brand so much that reality leaves the building. I praise Qualcomm for giving Samsung Fabs no more chances, and TSMC for making a faster, more efficient, thermally better chip that’s what Samsung could not do for years.
@mogtaba4179 Yeah, but I know how to make the S23 Ultra even more faster and smoother and I know how to improve the Galaxy S23 Ultra's battery life a little bit better.
@@mike786551 You can make the Phone's system movements last for a little bit faster with developer options. To enable developer options on the S23, First Go to the settings app. Then scroll all the way down until you find a section called: "About Phone" and tap on it. Once you're inside of "About Phone', tap on software information. Then once you're inside of "Software Information" find "Build Number" and tap on it 7 times. If you have a lock screen code, the phone will bring up another screen called: "Enter your Pin". That means you must enter the same code you use to unlock your S23 from the lock screen that you use to unlock your S23. Once you're done, exit out of "Software Information and then exist out of "About Phone". There is now a section that sits under the "About Phone" section called "Developer Options". Tap on "Developer Options" and scroll down carefully until you find 3 Sections that say "Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale and Animator Duration Scale. Tap on all 3 of those and change the number for each animation scale section from 1x to .5x (Aka 0.5x on older Android versions). You should know that since .5x is smaller than 1x, that means all the system animations (Or system movements) will move about 2X faster than before. The largest animation scale number is 10x. If you tap on 10X on each animation scale option, all the animations will move super slow. Only .5x is the smallest (And fastest) animation scale number available on Android. If you demand more speed on your Galaxy S23, reply to me for help. I am not a tech genius, I only know simple ways to make something better (instead of super-complex ways that require a lot of knowledge, I only have a small knowledge of making something better by going with the easy ways). I know how to customize Android, speed up Android and boost battery life with only simple ways. So, I'm not a tech geek, but at least you found something that is a simple and effective way to make your Galaxy S23 run a little faster.
To boost battery life on your Galaxy S23 with the settings app, you need to launch the settings app first. Here's a list of couple easy ways to boost battery life on your S23: 1. Turn off Bluetooth scanning. If you don't know where "Bluetooth Scanning is, you can simply use the search bar to do so. Once you found "Bluetooth scanning", toggle the switch off to that is next to "Bluetooth Scanning". The reason why it's because Bluetooth is searching for devices in the background and "Nearby share devices, too. 2.
Both are great and each phone will load certain apps faster because of the animation of that particular app for me when I look for a phone I want to know how well it performs camera battery life but most importantly the display because we have seen certain phone displays die out pretty fast some getting burned out some flickering and others just losing pixel color over time
@@Maxsss214 this not a car for yearly model comparison it's an electronic gadget lol ! S23 ultra 7or 8 months year old phone how we compare with a new model .. think logically..
Even iPhone 15 struggles to keep up with S23 Ultra. Samsung came up in the game, dropped the S23 Ultra, which is the best phone ever, and left to build the S24 series. Android man. No limits to it.
Samsung has not done anything much as the improvement was because Qualcomm ditched Samsung Fabs and now the chips are made by TSMC. All the efficiency, thermals and performance have nothing to do with Samsung, they are all Qualcomm and TSMC. It seems Samsung superfans are looking through rose-tinted glasses!
@@andyH_England About fabs and chips you are right, but the 8gen 2 of S23U was designed specially for they, basically the best Qualcomm chipset is only in S23U
@@kevinyoliveira68 Samsung got first dibs on the overclocked SD8G2 which Samsung marketed as "made for Samsung". Qualcomm allowed other OEMs to use this chip mid-year but there were few takers as it was just overclocked and more expensive.
Watching on my s23 ultra . On boy the experience samsung is offering is mind blowing . I switched from iphone 13 pro and i dont regret at all . Samsung blows me up with something new every now and then. Samsungs has catch up against iphone quite well . Even with camera s23u vs iphone 15pro max not much of a difference for a normal guy. At somepoint s23u even beats iphone 15promax in camera department even being older 8 months.
I dont understand these test, unless you're walking around with one in each hand using them side by side like this they're both plenty fast enough for anything you're doing
Same reason many do not understand camera tests, battery tests, and even build quality test. You get plenty battery, quality and camera 😆 for anything you're doing
Another RU-vidr got a different result with the match up. He had the latest sept update and s23u animations was smooth and browsing speed was faster then iphone
IPhone was my first smart phone, after seeing my friend's Samsung s23 ultra I was so impressed I switched from iPhone to Samsung s23 ultra. Much better and don't regret it at all. Samsung has Much more better features. But iPhone games on the app store is slightly better, but Samsung is better for professional use and the camera is wayyy better
Okay honestly I think this is bad news for apple as they claim that this is by far the best and fastest processor on a phone. S23 Ultra won in most cases while having to manage a lot more things than 15 pro max (because it's extra capabilities) and the times that S23 Ultra lost were by a small difference. Also, geekbench clearly isn't reliable to show which is faster. Really I expected that 15 Pro Max would smash it.
Yeah but thisi s only a small test , if you load some intensive applications and process them on the iphone and compare them , make no mistake the galaxy will be well and truly left behind , and there have already been tests to show this . however the galaxy is very quick loading up apps and general duties , no denying it .
This test has very little to do with performance per se. I saw a test where each opened a large word doc and the iPhone did it in half the time. Also a render test the iPhone did it 3X quicker than the S23U. That is where you will see performance. These tests are more to do with RAM speed & storage speed and which can grab the internet first.
Hope yall know the app opening test is only an app optimization and animations thing. Also the iPhone loads up everything while android only loads up the front face of the app. Both are so fast tho I don’t think anyone would have a problem with either phone
Thanks a lot for the video. The browser should either be Google Chrome on both, or each phone should have its own browser. In my opinion, that would be a more correct refinement.
Because of Apples locking down users practises, all browsers on iOS use the same webkit system under the hood, so it really doesn't matter which browser you use. Also, Samsung Internet is chromium based
I have both. The IPhone 15 Pro Max I use for work purposes. The S23 Ultra I enjoy using more for media consumption. It all comes down to preference. I would love to use my S23 Ultra as my daily driver but there’s a few reasons why I don’t. Firstly, nearly everyone I work with uses an IPhone. Sharing documents and iMessage just makes the day easier on the iPhone. iMessage is sorely missed when I try to use the S23 Ultra for work. Secondly, the Apple Watch Ultra is the best watch on the market. Thirdly, I prefer the visual voicemail transcription on IPhone. Lastly, I very much enjoy the Apple MagSafe wallet. Might be small nit picks but out of the box the IPhone just works. If your family and the majority of individuals that your work with use Samsung then go with Samsung. The same is true if most people around you use IPhone. You can’t go wrong with either device.
@@dontedupree with iMessage you can easily send anything. Pictures, videos, documents, PDFs etc. It works seamlessly with others that have iPhones. Samsung has something similar but it only works with other Samsung devices. It all comes down to the people you connect with daily. If everyone you know has an iPhone the iPhone is best. Same can be said with Samsung.
Dynamic island is pretty cool, but I feel that Apple over and over introduce "new copied" features that Android user's has had for year's. For example MMS, widgets, notification bar, the action button and I could go on....that said, if it wasn't for Apple, we might not even had smartphones yet.
Apple being very good over the years has forced android companies to also match them and even surpass them in some cases and im thankful to apple for that If iphones werent good or better then there would have never been an incentive for android companies to improve. Android is becoming more and more stable with each new release while it seems the opposite for apple's ios
Lots of people posting on Twitter saying that after a couple of days the heat goes. The consensus is that the setup of apps and the background processes mean a few days of hotter use. But afterwards it settles down to normal.
For me the S23 Ultra is better as it has all the important features I need like the multitasking capabilities, the S Pen etc. while being able to customize literally anything you can and can not imagine
Great video..waiting to see how the pixel 8 pro stacks up..the pixel 7 is ok..dropping calls every now and then..not happy about that..90hz not consistent..🎉🎉
@@fries6612 my s23 is a portable laptop. I run a business though my phone, which I wouldn't be able to do on iOS. Trust me I've tried with the iphone 14. If it suits your needs more power to you .
The iOS 17 and the new A17 Pro chipset is not optimised right now since it just came out but Samsung is well optimised right now because it was launched half a year ago enough time for devs to optimise the chipset and software
I remember iPhone 12 Pro Max (A14 Bionic), when released new, was literally slower than 11 Pro Max (A13 Bionic). After 2 weeks or so, it performed like a beast!
Confesso que fiquei meio triste quando o iPhone marcou mais pontos que a Samsung, mas deu pra ver nitidamente que o s23 deu uma porrada no iPhone kkkkk
Can you do a comparison on something like a samsung vs iphone(like a 21ultra vs iphone 12PM) after 2 years to see battery and performance since most ppl use a phone for 2-3 years
You can turn on the camera on the S23 Ultra without pressing the buttons. It has a small application that can assign functions to the buttons as you wish. When you tap the back of the phone twice, the camera can be turned on.. or anything else you want to open.
This is an early version. The S23U has been out 7 months and Android 13 for a year so if it wasn’t smoother there would be a BIG problem for Samsung. IOS will improve. I remember last year the 14’s had scrolling issues but we got a few updates and now as smooth as silk.
Your vedios are very eye pleasing better than MKBH and some other RU-vidrs. If i really wanna to see the exact shape and feeling of phone i watch your vedios
For Face ID, it doesn't need to change features wise when your phone is locked. It's very fast, reliable and secure. You prove it is you and that's all that matters. As for bypassing the lock screen, I personally doubt Apple will change it. I think this because it is reminiscent of what the very first iPhone did. Slide to unlock. It's a historical thing for iPhone, marking the beginning of a device and one thing they'll keep using in the future. Including for myself personally, I've never been bothered having to swipe upwards to unlock my phone.
Correct. And Apple does it on purpose. The idea is that you can quickly read your notifications on your lock screen when privacy settings are on. Face Id makes them visible.
Should I buy the S23+ or the S23 Ultra or should I wait for the S24 series will be out in february next year? I my self have a s9+ and I really really want to get my hands on a new smartphone
please also challenge these two against the exynos variant of the samsung s23 ultra, im quite curious about how much the exynos chips have managed to catch up in terms of the speed of qualcomm chips
