It's great that all of these phones are high quality overall so you can't really go wrong. As an iPhone 15 Pro Max user, salute to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Google Pixel 8 Pro
Facts. The iPhone community needs more people like you that can understand that there all great buys and every phone has there own pros and cons. Also I’m a iPhone 12 user
Close race between the IPhone 15 pro-max and the Samsung Galaxy S-23 Ultra. I have to give the edge to the Samsung Galaxy S-23 Ultra (Custom King) in this round. The ONE UI 6 is really holding true📱🏁📱🏁📱🥇😁👍
I liked it when u said don't take it seriously when u get it wrong, as humans we do make mistakes and in the comment section ppl be like that came up first and this came up last. I really like ur work and effort u put into every video. Great Job! 👏👏👏
Forget speed tests. They're all plenty fast enough and a few milliseconds doesn't matter in real world use. I'd rather see a software comparison. IOS17 vs Android14 vs OneUI6.
Hey, Nick, amazing video I've seen that there were some connectivity issues for s23Ultra because if u see pubg, in the s23 was league ahead of both of them, and then suddenly a loading screen pops up, in my opinion the S23 Ultra should've opened it faster than both but im pretty sure there was a network error in s23 because in your previous videos aswell the s23 opened pubg way faster. You can also test both s23 and iPhone. Im pretty sure pubg should open way faster in s23 because I've also tested it, and in your previous videos, the s23 was faster, too. This year tables turned, i think s23 is faster than iPhone. Both phones are great but this time i have never said this before in my life but I think samsung has taken over iphones now. The 8gen2 for galaxy is faster than the bionic chips. I was shocked. I cannot wait for the s24 Anyways, that's what i wanted to tell you. Amazing video l
If you want faster animations on iOS, just turn them on in settings. They're defaulted to smoother animations but you can turn on reduced motion if that's your preference.
Weird that the Pixel 8 Pro boots the fastest when it’s by far the weakest. It’s not slow by any means but we’re talking Tensor G3 running at A12 Bionic speed vs the 8 Gen 2 (between A14 and A15 Bionic speed) and then of course A17 Pro.
My only worry is how long these phone can keep this high level performance. We are spending $1,200+ on these and that should last 4 years at close to peak performance. But will they…?
@@nickackermanchannelit won’t dim it as much I have been using it since you first mentioned it and it served me well on my s21 ultra.the 23 doesn’t get as dark White point reduction and Face ID /Apple Pay are the only reasons I still care for iPhones Otherwise s23 ultra was king this year Looking forward to the 24s now Will decide after you review them though
@12:30 isn't worth $1000. Buying a gaming pc for the same price still is justified. 😅 Occasionally how often do mobile users` use high cpu applications. Nick dude I can't master tech I this way, you need to spread this out of its hurting our reality in this generation. 😢
Every phone is on the same network. I phone is just faster at loading games. The loading screens on ios and android are different while opening….thats why you may think the s23 loads faster.
@@Lolllllllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzz of course, the 12 is 3 generations older. It would be embarrassing for the samsung if it didn’t😂. Compare it to either a 15 or 14 and it will be similar in load times.
I love my iphone but they give us a million updates that we barely ever need…..if you don’t have an eco system, most iOS updates are USELESS 💯💯give us features we actually WANT….SHEESH🙄 I’m keeping my 13 pro max till it’s DEAD
Because the Iphone is the better phone and a Samsung phone has more to offer, but just because Samsung has more to offer doesn't mean it's a better phone.
I am an iPhone user and fanboy, but it is so amazing to see how smartphones have evolved over the years and it is a pleasure to see these amazing smartphones released in 2023. They are nearly perfect
I mean all the phones are too notch. Whether you pick android or iphone, you will get high quality if youre buying high end series. Speedtests only show delays between apps opening in each phone in miliseconds.. not worth it kinda. Its up to you which you prefer - android or ios:) in 2030 we will come to one point where all phones will act the same. Only UI will differ 🤍🫡
Seems I’m in the minority but I’ve actually swapped from Samsung to Apple as I’ve had terrible experiences with Samsung’s customer service in the U.S. For phones I was happy with both, but I tend to prefer IOS clean look. 🤷♂️
I did the same. I was sick of the curved display. Androids just don’t last as long as an iPhone which the resale value shows. Now I have enjoyed my Samsungs but had to grow up and get an iPhone. I’m not a kid anymore.
@@dustinj7028Resale value has more to do with the strength of the brand. The iPhone 1 obviously wouldn't hold up very well after 16 years of usage, but it still has resale value because of how iconic it is.
It would be great if you compare how well the oneui perform in A series phone as compared to S series phone in terms UI fluidity and performance or animation. For eg, A52s vs S23
I don't mean to be rude but your videos are mostly about speed tests it would be nice if you made battery drain tests for example no one is bothering making a battery drain test of the tab s9 lineup vs the ipad pro
Pixel imo is as fast its that they go for that smoothing effecr. As you see when it comes to actual apps like app store and stuff its just as fast pretty much. The devices apps like clock etc are done the other eay on purpose. I like the deep deep coloes on the pixel also. Sure samsunf has bright colors but I think the pixel 8 pro actually looks better in person. I think the pixel is the winner for price hands down. This is coming from an s23 ultra owner lol. Im def going pixel next time. Ive had to many sisues with the s23ultra egen the scrolling has micro stutters I still prefered my s20 and s21 ultra over my s23 ultra.
I own the 15 Pro Max and I compared that with other phones and in most of the cases it was faster or the same speed. All of the devices in this video are extremely good and worth the money but as an Apple fan, I obv prefer the iPhone
Yeah the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the fastest phone you can get. Not even the S24 Ultra can beat it. It may look like it can because the animations are faster, but as soon as you jump in a game or a task even relatively difficult, iPhone starts pulling away dramatically
My point is very simple. The numbers say that the iPhone and Samsung are much more powerful than the pixel. However, in practice this means that the loading of games on the Pixel is 3 to 5 seconds slower than the others. In conclusion, I don't think it's a justification to buy a Samsung or iPhone because of this time difference. Seconds that will not mark our productivity significantly. Pixel great phone!!
The differential of performance is minimal for easy tasks like opening apps. But if you do more intensive tasks like video rendering, you will see a greater time difference. But for the average user, the P8P is fine, though all of us would prefer it to have a better chipset.
Yes, I know, but understand what I mean. Rendering a video and the difference being seconds or a minute or so does not add a difference that justifies more productivity. I think that where it can be observed or "take advantage" is for players who want all the options in the games to the fullest. There, it would be noticed @@andyH_England
What is it about iOS that's so smooth? It seems that no matter how fast and powerful android devices get, they can never be as smooth as the relative iPhone that year. Is it just insanely good optimization? Better CPU? What can Samsung and Google do to make their operating systems as smooth as iOS?
Yeah, that's fair. Being like, 0.5 seconds faster in opening most apps isn't really a big deal. It's understandable if someone would still prefer the smoother iOS animations over slightly faster opening speed. 15 Pro Max seems to take heavier tasks better than the S23 Ultra and Pixel 8 Pro too from what I've seen. I'm a Samsung main, but that A17 chip is a beast, especially paired with such an optimized operating system.
between iPhone 14 Pro and S23, i chose the S23 and couldnt be happier. i have an iPhone too, and i prefer a lot the S23, and i chose it for gaming and doing tasks i would do in a computer and i cant deny that it's amazing.
i work and play on my galaxy, and i already ran GTA IV in an emulator and it ran in 15 to 20 FPS, and also, i play yuzu on it with 30 FPS, so i dont think the 3dMark is wrong giving the win to S23U hahaha. :)
@@al_ex.his 3d mark score seems to be very low for the i phone as it is less than 75 percent of scores for the same score. There are previous videos of his in which the i phone scores about 4000 plus in most cases. I tried it on my 15 pro max and it was about 4100 points. Raw performance wise i phone takes the case in both cpu and gpu. Only the 8 gen 3 can beat it at least in the gpu department. But it is sad that the i phone doesn’t let you emulate games. But regular games often get better frame rates in the iphone compared to the s23 ultra.
@@Lolllllllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzz s23 ultra released in February this year right… so its actual competition is the 15 pro max which released in September this year. Till the note 10, the note series used to compete with the i phones of that year, considering the s23 ultra is the replacement to the note, it makes sense to compare year wise. Both phones are released now almost half a year apart, so when one releases, the other has the excuse of being old. Brilliant strategy by apple and samsung so that the phones can never be compared head to head.
@@Lolllllllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzz 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Only by entering a phone that has not been released can you win, apart from the s24 ultra competing against the iPhone 16 pro max
0:31 the booth in high end phone's i think it really depends of how light and optimize the software is that's why apple is some of the fastest in the booth up because is one of the lightest and more pure softwares. And samsung is definetly more heavy with a lot more functionality you could say thats why it takes longer.
It'd be nice if you did a speed test between the galaxy A54 and the pixel 7a after a few months with the most recent update on them to see if they've improved, specially Samsung in their mid range devices
definitely not, the a54 is miles ahead of the note 10 in terms of power, its more powerful than the s10+ and still gets the 4 years of updates@@wheelyflac
My P7P is basically getting the same geekbench score as your P8P how is that possible ? And mine looks smoother than your P8P also is it just that Google has been lazy with the optimization on the P8P ?
My P8P is smoother than his. The Tensor 3 is made by Samsung and has awful QC. So one Tensor 3 chip may be great, but the next may suck. That is why Qualcomm sacked Samsung Fabs, and TSMC now makes the SD8G2 and SD8G3. Samsung even cancelled the Exynos 2300 as it was so bad compared to rivals. Thankfully, Qualcomm finally stopped using Samsung's cheapest option and paid the extra for quality TSMC.
i serously don’t understand why your androids keep lagging so much. I have a pixel 2 xl and it loads and scrolls throgh the play store without being choppy, doesnt make sense why brand new phones. are
Does s23 U feels slower in games compared to when it was running Android 13. I think you should tweak some settings as it's not performing the best (specially in games).Earlier it was almost tied or used to win against 15 pm(In Games).
The 15PM has sped up due to app updates, iOS 17 updates and A17P firmware changes. When the iPhone was tested at launch, it had some bugs, but it is now much cooler, and faster with better battery life. It was the first ever 3nm, so consumers were beta testers, and Apple is sorting continuously. the Gen 2 3nm won't have these early issues.
I do prepare the quality on the iPhone way more clarity and realistic, remember these androids have had allot of optimizations and updates, iPhone has had 1 or 2 updates since this video that’s all, it’s performance will still defo out perform the s24 the 15P performance is nearly on par with the Mac M1 chip
Man, as an iPhone user, I’m really impressed with both the pixel eight Pro and the S 23 ultra. The 15 Pro Max is kind of boring. even though none of these phones really brought anything new to the table this year, I’m still impressed with how far Google and Samsung has come.
4:00 It seems like samsung is trying hard to load an initial unusable imagine faster than Ios, judging by the weird late refresh of the search tab and the slide, right of the "amazon prime" advertised app, that seems to kick into place properly later even after the search bar refresh, a fact that does not and never happens on iPhone but its a consistent android problem.
it's seems like some apps on s23 ultra are actually in deep sleep like subway and pubg i have s23 ultra and compared it with the video and mine are faster hopefully you remove them from deep sleep in your next speed test to give a better result
