It’s a nice combo. Last year I had the s22 ultra + watch 5 + buds pro and I liked it but had some problems with the phone thanks to stupid Exynos (UK). This year I have the iPhone 15 pro max + Apple Watch series 9 + iPad 10th gen. I didn’t get the AirPods as I don’t need the bells and whistles of noise cancellation or Spatial Audio so I use a cheap anker one (my buds pro work with Apple but I can’t disable touch controls). I like the apple ecosystem more due to one thing only, the integration is more reliable. Eg. My galaxy watch 5 had a massive battery drain episode caused by google services running in the background. I had to do a full reset to sort it out. It then happened again and I’ve noticed that every single time I used google assistant on my watch I had to manually shut all the apps to prevent google things from draining the battery on the background. It was annoying as hell, Samsung blamed google, google blamed Samsung etc. I’d like to try a Pixel in the future and see how it compares but they really need to sort theirs chips first.
I am absolutely over this talk about the ecosystem. Why is it still a part of the conversation? You invest heavily in Apple products and then talk about the ecosystem advantage. Where is your Galaxy watch and Galaxy book?
It's the only argument Apple users have. Buys apple products, then talk about ecosystem. However, I'm the same. I have a galaxy watch, Samsung TV, and S24U... and I wouldn't go for an iPhone because I'd have to replace too much.
Seems like a pretty fair and balanced review to me. I'd go for the S24 Ultra because I prefer android, but I'm sure somebody would be just as happy with their new iPhone if that's their choice
A comment that makes sense! Really just preference lol has been for years. I like both but stuck with iOS since switching years ago. Might go back to Android next time. They do similar things with different advantages and disadvantages (as well as their ecosystems but I don’t care for that stuff I own no other Apple products)
I'm sorry but the ecosystem argument is stupid at best. Most of us only have our phone our primary computer. I've been part of both the samsung ecosystem and the apple ecosystem. Both of these phones are great for uploading pictures on Instagram. Both of them are great for content consumption, with the S24+ having the slight edge. Both of these phones will give you years of software support. Now it comes down to which operating system you like, and spoiler alert, both Apple and Samsung/Google track your data and sell them to third party companies like facebook/Meta. Its now your choice on what operating system to prefer. Do you like the restrictive approach of apple's walled garden or the freedom android offers you?
I agree.. these flagship phones are always neck and neck, and they're uniformly excellent. I really like pure Android, but when Samsung and others add their crap to it, well, it really ruins the experience for me.
What freedom huh, apart from Cheap stake Sideload like a broke buddy. Isn't every Social media app & Basic tasks kinda same in every flagships. I mean iPhone does all the work one wants on daily basis. It's just a phone that too a product so Calm down the talk of freedom as if We're talking about Revolution.
I really love my S24 Ultra! Especially post update which recently rolled out last week. It's definitely made an even bigger difference once installed, IMO.
That was a waste of time. This guy didn't say anything new. He hasn't come up with anything new to say about any phone in years. He needs to come up with something fresh.
Part of what I do for a living is working as a contractor for several projects with Google. Over the years I've had probably 2 dozen managers, which Google seems to have a shitload of, and every single one of them use an iPhone for their personal phone. Most had company phones that were, of course, Android devices, but every one of these folks preferred iPhones. Thought that was pretty telling!
After using s22U, s23U and then s24U I have decided to try iPhone 15 pro max. No regrets so far. Both phones are great in majority areas. For me shape and weight of the iPhone is much better than boxy ultra, specially now when Alu and titanium frame was implemented. Also IPhone can transfer full hi-res audio via usb-c while android is limited to 24bits/48khz. For me it is also important;)
So you used the s22ultra and S23ultra, then went to Iphone 15 I blv, or am I missing something when u claimed to use the 24ultra and jumped to iphone in the past days it just came out? 🤔🫡
@@de-luxe491 was using s22 ultra for a year, upgraded to s23 ultra when released which was great upgrade. Then after year I swapped to s24 ultra and after using it 13 days was disappointed. It got wider in hand, camera needs improvement. What was amazing, its display coating. In same time we have Xperia 1 v at home as well. So seeing so less updates and some areas being worse than in s23 ultra decided to try something else and chosen iPhone. Maybe my positive experience is connected with fact that this is something different, we will see. Time will tell
Introduction : Which phones worthy of your cash. Conclussion : Based on your ecesystem. No more review guys. It all the same conclussion unless you see android vs android.
@@tguwop242 Really? For years? What did apple copy for years? Other than apple paying Samsung and LG for making their screens? Clearly you do not know any history about apple or Samsung or what they have done together…
Great content. The s24 ultra is nice, but I'm sticking with my s23 ultra, especially since it will be getting a lot of the same AI. Can't wait to see what the s25 ultra offers.😊
@@vailmcc it would be 2026 before they start charging (if they do) as they've committed to it being free until the end of 2025. At the end of the day I bought my S23 Ultra without those features and was very happy with it, so the 2 years of free AI are just a bonus. If they aren't worth paying for then I just won't bother
Not if you trade it on for anther Samsung Ultra. Samsung has much better trade in deals than Apple. If you take in to account all the free stuff I got with the S24 Ultra, it cost me £0 to trade my S23 Ultra to the S24 Ultra.
@@vailmcc free watch, free Disney, free case, free screen protector, £600 trade in. I got 10% off through early reservation and paying through Samsung app. That all adds up to slightly more than the phone cost me, so yeah, doubt as much as you want. Your wrong, I'm right.
@@vailmcc doubt as much a you want. I got £560 worth of free stuff, 10% discount and £600 trade in. The total of that is more than the cost of the S24 Ultra.
Apple only gives $520 for my iphone 14 pro trade in value. Samsung gives better trade than Apple. Iphone value is higher after 1 year but its useless since apple doesnt want to give the customers high trade in value
That's definitely an issue with Samsung phones. Resale value drops like rock very quickly. You'll see the S24 Ultra on sale in about a month.. it's unfortunate..
After all is said and done, the camera that matters to me most is the one that can take clear pictures of my cat in low-light conditions even if he is moving. iPhone 15 Pro wins. App for App? The one with the better quality is Apple. Another win. Look, I already knew who the winner was going to be because this is XDA, but I'm still trying to figure out how these reviewers never seem to focus on real photo subject matters. The iPhone is 'good enough', but it was not beaten by much by the Ultra 24. I own an S24 series phone and I can tell you that my personal experience with real day to day photo subjects, it doesn't even come close. S24 series isn't a bad phone, it just isn't as good as a lot of the tech reviewers like to make it out to be.
Not being able to take a decent (usable) photo of moving subject with 2024. "flagship" (S24U)... seems to be something all of these "honest" reviews seem to forget to mention
Could RU-vid reviewers please stop overlooking the fast that higher wattage faster charger degrades the battery quicker. Fast charge isn’t everything, I prefer my phones battery to not be an issue for a number of years than to be able to charge quickly for 13 months then have terrible battery life.
In the video comparison section, I would much rather have the full video in each half of the screen than the left half of one in the left screen and the right half of the other in the right screen. Dont want to be comparing to different things of what's essentially the same video on each. Unless they're different videos
The S24 Ultra is the better overall phone, but it lacks in app optimization by far and media sharing amongst phones other than its own kind. For example, sharing a video through messaging from android to iphone is pointless. An iphone user will never be a le ro see thetrue qualities of the samsung video if sent through text. The iphone user would need ro download a 3rd party app just to come close. But if an iphone user sends out a video to an a droid user via text, it cones out perfect, no decompression or pixelation of any kind.
Don't believe everything on RU-vid.. This Samsung S24 Ultra is still the top dog ..The zoom on this is still brilliant..Even better since the update as well
As an Android user for ages the only thing that Apple is appealing to me is the optimized apps. The rest are just limited and it's like you're stuck in the apple ecosystem. It's like you completely don't own the product that you buy.
True. As an android user for 8 years in a row and having switched to the iPhone 15 pro max in September I can safely say I do not miss android precisely because 80% of what I do on my phone is using apps, the other 20% is using the camera which is also great 😊
Deal breaker for me is that you can't schedule a text on apple. If I come up with something that I don't want to forget to send but it's too late in the evening to send I then Samsung is the what I reach for.
I switched from app to the s24U. I’m was pretty deep into the apple ecosystem. The thing I miss the most from apple is the ability to send a quality video in a text message. Otherwise s24U works just as good for the stuff I do. Which is scrolling on social media watching RU-vid and playing on the internet.
So if the iPhone was good and the S24 works the same why do you replace the iPhone?? And you loose the ability to send quality photos, airdrop, iMessage, FaceTime and a great support
@@Cubano2031 every Android device has RCS to send quality photos (and iPhones will soon), Quick Share for file sharing and Google Meet for video calls. Quick Share and Meet are also available on any Windows computer (Meet is also available in the Apple App Store), so you're not just limited to Apple devices. Meanwhile, everything you mentioned is limited to Apple only. Plus Galaxies and Pixels now get 7 years of OS/security updates.
Coming from the S22 Ultra. This S24 Ultra is just a beast of a phone, DSLR Camera, Gaming Machine, Computer System, etc.. Having owned the Note 10+ & the S22 Ultra for years. I never learned everything those phones had to offer me. Samsung phones are just so feature packed & I've never had a single issue 🤟
xda is supposed to be the biggest media outlet for Android devs. Need more passionate people covering the whole custom part of Android like ROMs. Cmon guys.
when you said Samsung is cathcing up to Apple in terms of eco system. He lost me. There is a reason I have not gone back to Apple. But thats me. It's eco system is a weak excuse. No one likes chancge but I much prefer Samsungs innovation. Apple ia a wait and see company and charge their customers extra for the privalige.
Last time I looked, an S24 Ultra is about $100 more than a comparable iPhone. Speaking of paying for the privilege, you'll be paying for your AI suite next year..
Apple is no longer the most expensive; even Samsung laptops make you flick over to see the price of MacBooks. As for the ecosystem, what most Apple ecosystem users mean is that the ecosystem is vastly superior. Having used an MB Pro 16 and a Galaxy Book3 Ultra, I can say that the Mac beats the Galaxy Book by miles in every metric, including value.
The problem with the AI things is that it's not on device. There's no reason to buy the s24 for the AI, except that they blackmail you into it with the closed software. And even then, it will be paid in a year anyway. So unless it runs on device and not through an internet connection, I will not be considering it in my decisions.
The problem is that "Galaxy AI" is just Samsung marketing. It is really the Google LLM that Samsung rents (and pays for), as Samsung was unable to develop its own learning machine. So I can understand why they will start charging and why some are in the cloud. Apple has been developing its own LLM for years and is releasing it at WWDC soon. Again, Apple is showing Samsung how it is done with its own OS, hardware, ecosystem, and large learning machine.
S24 has more features than the iPhone. S24 is optimized but not as optimized as the iPhone. The S24 is fluid but not as the iPhone. Apps on iPhone looks & runs better than on the S24. THE IPHONE IS BORING BUT IT'S BETTER.
Not at all, I've owned Androids, WebOS, and iOS devices over the years. All I'm saying is that the 24 Ultra isn't the best Android phone, and Android isn't currently as good as iOS.
@@garymurdez4446The statement is actually true. No matter how android elevate their specs and all. Apple is still so seamless than them sad to say 😅 Due to seamlessness it gives apple users a very satisfying experience. If samsung will be optimized as apple, maybe that time they could finally bit apple completely.
I'm an apple user when it comes to computer but I'm a galaxy s user, even tho I'm in the apple eco system when it comes to computers, iPad etc,.. I prefer the Samsung phone and mainly use Samsung ecosystem all day since I own all Samsung smart TVs, Samsung smart washer and dryer and smart fridge, doorbell etc.
I never had any issues with connecting my phone to my tablet to my ear buds to sending pics and videos between them using quick share. Even my Samsung book 360 laptop and phone and tablet all connect like three screens so yeah pretty good to me
The only reason I'm not using any apple products is the ecosystem. I also don't use Samsung ecosystem products apart from dex and pass. And the iPhone doesn't have anything like dex still too.
Many people talk about ecosystem and security in iOs. However, what about you can't go back in iOs many times only when switch the app off. And then go back move is terrible in terms of goin right from the left side only (where on android also from the right side) and it got that slow response for some reason which makes it awkward with pro max. The buttons like really small ones on top of the screen while these should be in some more reachable position on the screen. And why that miniature. Keyboard is nonsense so using onky third part app. Iphone and multitasking is way behind as there is basically no multitasking while having one of the most powerful procesors ever being installed in phones. Apps are actually lagging in iOs which is opposite to what people say. Apps are not as friendly customised in iOs either as compared to android it is harder to.ove around in some apps compared to android 🤔. Not sure, but I think it's just too overrated these days. I mean, it's powerful phone, works gread, feels great using it but I find it many times useless in say to say usage compared to android 🤔 And there are many other things that are not as user friendly compared to android as I get annoyed on daily basis with the question why it's not working, why it's not being developed yet in iOs or such. Alright, one just occurred that when I clicked to customise tesxt I was typing it just can't put the curosor on the spot anywhere easy, not even on end of the lines as I have to click twice or so in order fo get it there. These details are annoying. 🤔 I had Huawei p30 pro prior to IP 15 pro max and I gotta say the Os was so smooth, practical and.uch more user friendly while multitasking was on another level. While paying that much money for IP 15 pro max I'd expect double that of a comfort instead of going back to 2013 -2015 year 🤔 Alr. I'm complaining a lot but definitely not enough 😂 Otherwise I love the premium feeling having this phone. Don't hate me, just expressing my confusion why Ios is so overrated while android is dar ahead in many ways. I know that of course you can find things you like here and the. So, find your own best choice 😉
Ever since I switched my phone from Flip 4 to iphone 14pro, I cant download free ringtones on random internet. Also, I cant record my calls. Also, the cellular signal is weaker than Samsung. On the other side, I love the face ID and the animations are so smooth on Apple. The battery is pretty good too. I just wish apple add a back button
I have the entire ecosystem of apple products, then i recently purchased samsung s24 u for fresh air. O boy it's now my primary phone even tho i still wear my apple watch u.😅
This guy clearly hasn't tried the Samsung ecosystem, or he would have left that out of the video... There's a new, relatively unbiased video about Samsung's entire ecosystem (by the RU-vid channel "Created by Ella") that shows just how big it is, and Apple is not even close!... And this talk about airdrop, yeah quite a bit slower in every category than Samsung's quickshare! I really like how Samsung goes out of their way to try and make other brands work within your collection of Samsung devices, and then Apple does quite the opposite!
If you are coming from an Apple Watch to a Galaxy Watch or a Galaxy Book4 Ultra from an MB Pro M3 Max, you will notice a massive downgrade. Just check out reviews of each. Apple still does it better, and it still needs to be closer. So, the ecosystem is a BIG reason to use the iPhone. For example, I have unlocked my laptop with my watch for years by just opening my Mac.
@@andyH_England So you're a Apple fan... And I've seen the reviews, and they're not unbiased! You're proving the point that most of the comments on here are getting at, it comes down to preference! Samsung does have a bigger ecosystem, is what I said, and there are things in their ecosystem that they do better! If you're living vicariously through RU-vidrs opinions, and you enjoy that, keep it up.. I base my opinions off personal experience, my preferences are mine and I don't expect someone else to share it!
@@pianoverg I agree with you; my personal experience is that over the last 10 years the Apple ecosystem has been far superior and it's only lately that Samsung and others are catching up.
Every reviewer talks about the anti-reflective screen on the s24u. But none of them that ive seen have shown how a tempered glass screen protector affects this. Considering that the majority of people use these, it would be good to know before i buy mine 🤣
@@anand.chaudhari that's not a tempered glass one. Almost everyone I've ever met uses tempered glass because it provides way more protection. The plastic anti-reflective Samsung one is basically just to stop scratches. It wouldn't do much for drops.
@jfkelly0 you obviously don't have children regularly knocking your phone around 🤣 If I'm spending £1550 on something, I'm making damn sure I do the most to keep it in good condition. They'll come out with anti-reflective tempered glass screen protectors soon enough.
All the reason i had for being samsung customer now gone now its feeling more like wannabe iphone,cs its damn expensive have no audio jack or extra sd card, even the lastest android version more similar to ios so why would i want to spend that much to buy samsung instead i can buy iPhone which is a great camera phone have very good battery nowadays...!
It would be nice if someone actually did a review phone vs phone. I don't have a watch or laptop, just a phone. Ecosystem is irrelevant to me. If you want to do ecosystem, then do a video comparing ecosystem.
Apple sandboxes apps for better security, meaning file management is not straightforward. I heard that some Android OEMs may move to sandboxing for better security and even Google has mentioned changing Android filing system with sandboxed apps.
Spen is not a party trick, is a powerfull tool. S24U is a monster when it comes to productivity. Iphone is a monster when it comes to filmmaking and social media.
I'd go with iPhone as it actually works. You'll get your notifications on time. You'll get consistent battery life and you'll be able to watch netflix without micro stutters every damm 5 seconds. Also the iPhones actually hold there value unlike Samsung. This is not a biased comment as I wrote this on my S24 ultra and can't wait to get rid. Also reviewer's are useless as they never seem to mention or even notice the million bugs.
Until Apple adopts the ability to do split screen multitasking and add a clipboard, Samsung will always be slightly ahead for me. The build quality of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is unmatched though. Also Apple broadcasting the Superbowl halftime show from the iPhone 15 Pro speaks for itself.
I'm fed up with most tech RU-vidrs talking utter garbage and defending apple products and apples ecosystems. Owning both these phones, I can absolutely categorically tell you that the s24 ultra is better is every single way. The iPhone is still using a notch!!! Enough said
Nope.. Part of what I do for a living has been working as a contractor for several projects with Google. Over the years I've had probably 2 dozen managers, which Google seems to have a shitload of, and every single one of them use an iPhone for their personal phone. Most had company phones that were, of course, Android devices, but every one of these folks preferred iPhones. Thought that was pretty telling! The last contract involved the replacement for Android, which is still a ways out..
Samsung sUltra 24 Won and beat it up to iPhone 15 Pro max very well. I am also going to switch from iPhone to Samsung this month. Sultra 24 I am coming baby.
Use the Dex, and samsung watch to start a smooth transition and if you have moneys add the samsung book 3 or 4 ultra to switch the ecosystem If not you will feel disappointed and will go back into apple trap
What example do you have that the Samsung ecosystem is in any way inferior to apples? You must not have tried it recently. Also the mag safe case works just fine with the s pen as long as you don't add anything on the back of it like a wallet.
For real, I find the Samsung ecosystem is highly competitive and even better than Apple's ecosystem because Samsung has a wider product range that can be controlled with their monitors, phones, tablets, etc. Quick Share is also seamless for me, so I don't know why most reviewers always say Apple is superior to Samsung's ecosystem. It irritates me when they do not extensively test out the Samsung ecosystem before going into a more accurate conclusion.
I like the iPhone better because it is a cool one with fast fps to the highest phone. Although I used it to be the best one to was a gorgeous technology. I love the iPhone one. Which one is better the phone?
Owning an Apple has never interested me. I obtained a Samsung last year and found it to be a disappointment. I'd rather use my Motorola or Redmi and I miss LG.
I really hope apple has learned from their mistakes and refrain from losing significant fortune. They have good ideas but you cannot control everything, it's a simple lesson that should've been learned before the iphone.
Cameras are good. There's a misconception that having more pixels creates better photos. That's not the case. The 200 megapixel sensor on the Ultra is a gimmick.. it's the amount of light entering the lens, and the size of the pixels that count. Do you see Leica, Nikon, or Canon using 200 megapixel sensors? No, you don't.. I just bought a Leica Q2 that has a 48 megapixel sensor, and I'm guessing Leica knows a little bit more about cameras than Samsung does..
My phone is 4.5 years old. I'm using a Note 10 plus. Battery life is at 75% and never changed it. It's excellent and have no complaints with my phone. I'll be upgrading sometime this year though because it didn't receive anymore updates. Otherwise I wouldn't upgrade until it fell apart 😊
The average upgrade cycle is 4 years, so the 7 years will probably be relevant only to a minority, probably 10-15%. Halfway through, they should prepare a payment for a new battery. I never keep a phone 7 years as tech can move very fast and a 7-Y-O phone will look ancient. Just go back 7 years and see what phones were like then!
Stupid display , it felt cheaper with Grains all over , and the Adaptive brighntness is shit it is not lighting up even equal to S22 ultra. I Felt very premium with S22 ultra than S24 ultra. Camera is Shame, definitly improved Video but Photo is shit , and that 50mp and 200mp is Garbage. I reported Banding issues on my phone , am waiting for a refund/replacement but they will not do that . And for your info, your review units are way differ from.what we got. Please get a Indian Varient and do tests please. We have received way more inferior display for sure as I can see bands in HDR too.
Had the 14 Pro Max, switched to the 24 Ultra for about a week and traded it back in for a 15 Pro Max. The S24 Ultra is an excellent phone, but I believe the reason more iPhone users don't make the switch isn't because of Android.. it's because of all the additional BS Samsung and other manufacturers layer on top of it. It's a hot mess, generally. I found the AI incorporated into the phone cute, but 90% of people aren't going to use any of it. Plus, it sounds like going into next year, Samsung's going to be charging you to use it. The ability to change icons and themes, etc... is fun for about half an hour, but I'm no longer 13 years old, so that's a waste of time.. Cameras are pretty good, but if you really want to take stunning photographs you're not using your phone to do so, anyway. And don't get me started on resale value..
Thanks for sharing! I've been using a Note 10 plus since it launched in 2019. It's definitely time for an upgrade and I'm waiting to see what the iphone 16 has in stored or maybe get the iphone 15PM. I'm looking for a change and not interested in Samsung anymore.
@@kendregab7328 I switch back and forth every few years, just to see what's going on in Android land.. I owned a OnePlus 10 a couple years ago, and a Pixel 6, and really liked them both. OnePlus's UI was really nice, and as I said above, pure Android is where it's at as far as I'm concerned.
@@ChadH2023 Carrier, but that's my point. Why should it be necessary to either uninstall or delete the Samsung bloatware? I just don't have the patience, or more importantly the time, to deal with it..
Right. All the reviews are about the specs and what differences are in these specs. I found out a lot of differences in Os between android and iOs which have made me feeling annoyed. There was one reviewer who pointed out these differences that will make you realise iOs is far behind android. So, it is up to you what you prefer. People talk about eco system and stability. I found android actually being more practically usable woth os and apps usage in general as it got different interface which is easier to operate on android 🤔 I also found iOs a lot of times useless compared to android. Just to be clear, I had Huawei p30 pro from 2018 so, compared to my iphone 15 pro max it's a really big disappointment as I expected something more futuristic and user friendly in terms of usage and practicality which is not really. Otherwise, phone is great and powerful. You feel that stability in a sense but still. You would get annoyed many times on daily basis if you were android user and know that many things can be better and smother and more practical than iphone actually is not able to provide. Oh, and to mention. Forget about multitasking on iphone. Can run background processes many times when you go to other app and leave previous app doing certain process in background. When you'll come back it'll say that there has been error. So, you can begin from the start and stare at that process for a few minutes until it's done 🤦♂️🤣 Nonsense. I know. And sometimes you just can't go back in some apps and these are like Revolut or Instagram and such that you get stuck where it asks you to allow camera let's say and you don't want to perform such action, you simply want to go back but why would iphone let you? 🤣🤦♂️ So, nonsense such as to be expected on iOs.
Most iPhone buyers are average users who want a reliable camera and a solid phone. All the stuff geeks and techies claim makes Android better is moot to most buyers.
Stop being stupid and ignorant and get your head out the gutter The galaxy S 24 ultra is better cause you can do more with the phone you’re not paying for a basic phone you paying for an experience the iPhone 15 Pro Max is a waste of money it’s the same features they didn’t add anything new to the phone I’m not paying over 1000 or something dollars for a phone with the same features. It’s not worth the money that they ask for and you, Apple fanboys and customers are being brainwash by Apple, I’m not spending all that money for the 15 promax because I can do the same thing with my 14 Pro. Max is not enough is not enough new features that’s gonna make me wanna get that phone that’s why I’m getting the galaxy 24 soon because it is a better phone and I can do more with the phone I’m not paying for the same phone with the same features. The only thing that Apple change was the price and the name of the phone is still the same features, so what are you really paying for so stop stop being so ignorant and nasty and wake up and realize what’s really going on people are brainwash they release a new phone every single year with the same exact features so so so what makes the 15 pro max worth it if it’s just gonna have the same camera, same features, I’m not wasting my money for the same phone with the same features
