Yes exactly. Personally I switched to Apple with a iPhone 6. It took me a while to get used to it. My fiest Apple product was an iPad which prompted the change. I now have a 13PM. I also ise a MacBook Air.
If you're used to iOS, go with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. If you're used to Android, go with the Galaxy S24 Ultra (though I'd recommend the Galaxy S24 Plus because it's easier to hold and a bit cheaper, too).
It depends also on when you compare them September 2023: iPhone 15 Pro Max was better than the S23 Ultra Now: S24 Ultra is better than iPhone 15 Pro Max September 2024: iPhone 16 Pro Max should be better than S24 Ultra But yeah the main raison is the OS
And not just android, more like which UI over android, I still think Samsung does it the best with one UI and out of all the androids it is the most complete when it comes to eco systems and windows desktop integration.
I have both but my SIM card is in my s24u. I have a tab s9 u, buds pro 2 and watch 6 classic and all syncs to my built gaming work pc. I also have the 15pm air pods pro2 , watch ultra 2 and Mac mini. Best of both worlds and I use google cloud storage and one drive. Both are great but if I could only have one for me it’s the Samsung. It’s more open and free and believe it or not more user friendly. I have found that it takes three more steps on iOS to do one certain simple things than the Samsung. I could go into very much more detail but I’ll leave that for the reviewers until my channel is ready.
Great comparison. Especially because you used the same wall paper on both. It shows how great the screens are and how we can compare them ourselves. Thanks!
I've had my S24 Ultra for 3 weeks now without a screen protector. I can't find a scratch on the screen. I'm a handyman and keep my phone in the back pocket with case. My previous S20 Ultra ended up with minor scratches on the display after 2 years with no screen protector. At this rate, with the new phone, I think it might go years with minimal display scratches. I don't like screen protectors by the way.
Hi Aaron! I have had this bug for at least 2 years on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and now my current 15 Pro max, where when the phone gets overly warm from being in the sun or doing a stress test benchmark or something like that, Siri’s voice becomes very cloudy and makes a static type sound, and like its very far away or super distant and broken up.
I've been a IPhone user since the IPhone 3GS back in the days, sadly in my opinion IOS have degreed over the years, ofcourse there were alot of new functions wich is amazing, but in the past bugs that were discovered got fixed way faster then now, its been more then a year and as an example the Notification bug still hasn't been patched, the volume slider bug was been here for months already, that way i made the switch to Samsung and left my IPhone behind, i know that every software has bugs, but it seems like they dont focus on bug reports as they did in the past, where alot of people were reporting it and it got fixed within weeks. Even thought i still keep an eye on every video you post to keep up to date with information :)
I am a Samsung Galaxy user and I am happy I watched the video. My daughter wants me to switch to iPhone but I am a Windows, Tablet and Fitbit watch user. I would have to buy iPad and apple watch. Verizon is making a deal for all 3 new Samsung items for a small fee. But I can't do it with iPhone. So I think I will stick with Galaxy for now.
Jeez what are you doing on your 15 PM to drain the battery so fast? I get way longer life than you. My last 10 days I have 5.5 hours average screen on + 1 hr 44 screen idle (when the screen is on but you arent actively using the phone) and my average battery usage is about 50%. So extrapolating that out I would get easily over 10 hours of screen on time. Picking the best day from my last 10 I had 7hrs 28mins screen on + 2hrs 2m screen idle and used about 65% battery. Picking the worst day in the last 10 I had 3hrs 35mins screen on + 4hrs 14 mins screen idle and used ~35% battery. The most battery I have used on any day in the last 10 days was about ~70% and most were closer to 50%. That's amazing battery life IMO.
Very well done! A major concern is that the color of your t-shirt looks very different between the two cameras. Which is more accurate?? Keep up the great work!
I traded in my iphone 15 pro max for the Ultra 24. I'm really enjoying the phone and glad I picked it up. The iphone has gotten really boring and this is the first Samsung phone in years and they've made solid improvements since my galaxy 9.
Make a switch bro. I did same. I heavily invested in Apple eco system sadly but took brave decision to switch to s24 ultra. I was blown away with it's capabilities. Here is what I did S24 ultra main phone and iphone secondary Connected airpods pro to s24 ultra via Bluetooth and apple watch with iphone
At this point it really goes to the point where it’s about you what you feel more comfortable and ofcourse if you have other products of same brand that’s a deciding factor Also s24 ultra feels like i am holding a tablet in my hand while walking 😂i have literally used 7 inch tablets in my childhood
If you want 1 phone to do all then samsung, if you want phone to pair with iPad, computer, etc then can go for iPhone. Though samsung does it all but with samsung ultra phone you can use it to perform every task without any other device. For me I like open source so can never use iPhone
Appreciate your review. Day three in s24 Ultra. I'm a Windows and Linux user. So Apple ecosystem isn't a big advantage for me. I generally prefer Android OS but much respect for the iPhone's video capabilities. The battery is still "learning" but it appears like it will be a solid experience in that regard.
For me iphone is the best ...2nd Samsung both are more better smartphone the thing is if you choose only one you must be satisfied for only 1 ....but if you want complete choose both....because what ever makes Samsung on his phone ...still iphones are excellent also....
Yeah , but honestly , how much of that bullshit are you going to use in every day life ? Seriously , and you can guarantee , what one has a very slight leap ahead in some sort of gimmick , not long down the track , both the others will come up with something else to leap ahead with in months to come . In the end , they are all basically very similar with slight strengths and weaknesses in different areas. Look at the moon shots for example , yes the galaxy makes a better show of it , but it still sucks , my 6 year old 700 dollar dedicated travel camera puts it absolutely to shame without AI , they are still all just shitty smartphone cameras.
I have this weird feeling that AI is really just a fancy word for additional computing power. Like it's really nothing more then what a modern computer can do, it's not sentient etc. I have had every Samsung flagship since the S5 and I did pick up the s24 ultra and it's a great device but the ai features are nothing revolutionary or something that feels like a huge leap in technology or at least like the transition from dumbphones to smartphones! The coolest thing I would say is the ai wallpapers but everything else you have to find a reason to use it otherwise you wont. Maybe in 10 years we will see AI amaze us but for right now it's just a fancy word to sell my devices.
Using my s24 ultra for 2 months now and so far after that huge update i absolutely love the phone even more after the update the quality of the pictures have gotten even better and the display quality looks like a breath of fresh air overall the s24 ultra is the go to phone for me as i am an huge android fan but the iphone is still a champ too both phones are awesome and thus why samsung is called iphones of android because they perform like iphones love the comparison ❤❤❤
I have both and I must say the ultra wins for me all day. I can appreciate the ultra's non restrictive experience. Hell apple won't even let me put a widget where I want lol. Great video keep them coming
Have both phones but primary use is iPhone due to ecosystem and family/friends using the same phone. Imp when it comes to iMessage for me. With that said, I prefer the S24U phone but both are great phones.
I traded my 13 pro max for s24 ultra. Pretty good deal. Still learning on android and much more fun after using ios for more than ten years. Good job samsung.
I would prefer to use both, but I can't leave iPhone for its seamless iOS, experience and very polished apps, particularly for the social media and the other apps which Run rock solid on iPhone compared to android. Honestly, the iPhone keyboard and iPhone voice typing is a clear winner for me
Hi Aaron, I have a 14 Pro with poor battery life, screen stuttering and bugs with 94% after a year. According to rumors, the 16 Pro isn’t worth the wait because it’s not gonna be different from the 15 Pro. Should I instead trade in now for the 15 Pro or wait for the 17 Pro instead and replace the battery and get a MagSafe battery pack? Also, would you choose the regular Pro or the Pro Max model?
You’re not buying regular pro model if battery is what matters to you. Pro max is the way to go, but from what we know so far, 16 pro/max will be bigger than previous generations, so a battery upgrade of some sort is to be expected. Im currently using 14 pro max and my batter gets me 2 days no sweat. So im still waiting to see what is 16 going to offer. Friendly advice - Dont go for 15 series as you wont get any real upgrades over 14. Either get a good cheap trade for 14 pro max or simply wait out for 16 series.
@@steffan1804 Ok, thanks! Even if the 16 Pro is rumored to be almost the same as the 15 Pro, it’s still worth the wait for the 16 Pro series coming in 7-8 months?
@@borisdg but that’s what TheAppleHub showed on X post last week. Then, what are the real changes according to Mac rumors? I only found bigger screens and another capture button for the video camera or the spatial video of the Vision Pro and maybe a bit of ai changes. Most of the changes are included in iOS 18 which is still comes to every iPhones. Can you tell what changes of the 16 Pro in Mac rumors did you find?
The second they release a iphone with an ipencil, I'm picking one up. I have my ipad for notes, but man is it big and large and doesn't fit in my pocket. I tried the S22U, but by then I was already up to my eyes in the apple eco system and I missed my apple watch for the few weeks I had the samsung. However, that s-pen though, and the screen, and the camera, it was a great phone, but not enough to move me back to android. I went from iphone 13 promax to13 mini to 15 promax. It's an iphone, it's good. I'm sticking with apple on this one, but man, that samsung phones with their s-pens make me jealous.
@@zollotech hmm by default it comes with fhd plus. Geekbench 6999 multi core is proof of that. I ran geekbench test with qhd and it gave less scores. When ran on fhd the scores were beyond 7000
Seems Samsung has more features customizations can do but even with better camera specs something about iPhone camera just looks better. I'm still on the fence to switch coming from iPhone 14 Pro MAX; entire family has iphone now so easy to do facetime and imessage but I've had Samsung before and do miss all the cool features that ios doesn't have. Both great phones
Samsung is definitely putting great effort in improving their phones having a slight edge apparently from a hardware point of view but I will continue with the iPhone because of its coordination between all its devices the security behind them and their capacity to maximize their performance of their software with their processors and the rest of the components! I am with the 13 and SE 2 actually!
iphone seems to have the best contrast overall. Samsung is plane white, although i am s21,22,23 and 24 ultras user. All i can say with android tons of customization you wont get bored but over a period of time, their prices fall like hailstorm, and for the longer run, iphone is better cauz of their ecosystem..
I have 15 pro, but the Samsung does better photos sometimes, and sometimes the iphone knockes the S24 of the board, it's a tie I'd say. I just prefer the Apple eco system better.
Had the S23 Ultra and the 15 Pro Max last year; seeing as the S24 Ultra isn’t that much more different, I’ll stick with the 15 Pro Max and my OnePlus Open. Not saying the S24 Ultra isn’t bad phone, just wasn’t blown away from my experience with the S23 Ultra.
@@kendregab7328 although it’s not easy to install ipa files from outside AppStore as easy as apk files, you’ve more options, lovely design, no lags. I wanted to buy s24 but the design is very ugly and boring, I switched to iPhone and found out I was missing a lot, and photo video quality is very satisfying. The AI on s24 is not that useful for me at all.
Ive always have a problem with iPhone the display always hurt my eyes i always have to use dark mode. And on s23 i don't need to. But s24 is a killer AI is getting to me.
Thanks, Aaron, well presented! I like that each phone platform encourages the other to be even better. Gotta love the competition. I'm biased toward the iPhone but great to see what the other side has up its sleeve. Thanks! :)
I cracked the screen on my S22. $380 to replace the glass. Samsung offered me $400 with broken screen, so no brainer I now have S24 ultra. Two days in absolute beast!
I'm an iPhone 14 Pro Max user. I noticed the S24 Ultra on display at the local phone store - that display is seriously amazing to look at. Fired up an HDR 4K video on it, absolutely stunning.
The trick is it's not super amazing indoors like the s23u was. But the major differences is anywhere with natural sunlight including outdoors the devices looks the exact same as it does indoors without having to turn up the brightness@@SWOTHDRA
@@SWOTHDRAS24 current has a bug where the Vivid setting doesn't work, only the natural setting works. It will be fixed in an update but that doesn't mean natural is bad, your brain is too used to vivid where colors are overly saturated. The advantage of natural is that it looks realistic. Also, natural is the only setting available on iPhones.
Walking in the store, I have to envy Samsung's much smoother display than the one on the iPhone (sic!) Comparing the two phones side by side, even scrolling through a list is much smoother on Samsung's phones than Apple's (even though they both have 120 hz) I don't know what it depends on, maybe a software issue and legendered "Pro Motion", or I don't know what the issue is. It annoys me a lot because my eye can see it. Has anyone noticed this too?
This year Samsung wins not gonna lie better features no lag impressive camera no bug things, in iPhone we even have lag on notifications or beta updates and day by day iPhone kinda getting slower by updates and Im even iphone user but this year we should salute to Samsung S24 🫡❤️ And free Palestine 🇵🇸🍉❤️
I can assure you the S24 ultra has bugs! I'm using it right now. Inconsistent battery life. Receiving notifications on time is a bit of a lottery and the video playback in the likes of netflix and paramount is a stuttering mess. I'm getting rid of the S24 ultra for the 15 pro max this week.
@@TheGreatPartt yeah I'm getting the 15 pro max this week. The S24 ultra is a fantastic phone but too many bugs for me. Hopefully I don't find any bugs on the iPhone haha
Amazing review! Unfortunately it doesn’t make choosing one device over the other any easier 😂 I have an iPhone 11, iPad Mini 6 and an Apple Watch, so you’d think that I would automatically go for the 15. However, I’ve been itching to switch back to Android since the Z Folds became a thing, and while I’ve pretty gotten over the hype of foldables, the S24 Ultra is a very, VERY tempting proposition.
iphone 15 pro max has a shader compilation stuttering and no one wants to talk about it Even temple run and subway surfer lag on a brand new iphone 15 pro max 1tb
For right now Ill stick with apple but android is becoming more and more tempting. They are incredibly close now. Nothing quite so spectacular for me to switch though
@@josephmessere7617exactly. Why would you be loyal to any company when it comes to phones lol? Apple really knows how to play psychological games with the majority of their customers.
You are a wonderful person and I have been following you for a while.. The truth does not hurt and I am an Apple user, but the Ultra looks great in your presentation. Thank you
I don't care who has the best camera or is the fastest phone in benchmarks. Every flagship smartphone takes super pictures and video's and is blazing fast. 97% of all smartphone users don't even see the differences. I'm a SMARTPHONE user so I want the best screen (dpi/brightness/anti-glare), best battery, best/most usablility and productivity options, best gaming- and multi-media experience, best personalization options and best innovation. I want DEX, KNOX, S-PEN, call recording, multi-tasking, multi-window, fingerprint scanner, best screen, widgets, themes, integration with windows, the biggest eco-system (Samsung SmartThings), fast charging, fast wireless charging and I want AI. On all these aspects the S24 Ultra is destroying the iphone 15 PM big time. So why keep people buying these antiquated, restricted and very very limited iphones?
Hey Aaron , really appreciate you mentioning PWM in your videos , i hope more companies find a fix for this . Even at 480hz pwm bothers my eyes so just waiting for apple/samsung to come up with a solution. Thanks again!
Great video Aaron! Nice to see the unbiased review. We know you are an avid Apple user, but you are able to review an item without that clouding your judgement. Well done.
Any bad experience with Android up to here? I’m thinking in move from my 12 Pro Max to S24 Ultra but a little bit afraid of Android malwares, lagging, and bad user experience in some apps..
@@GabrielFBFonsecaandroid doesn’t have any of these issues, this is not 2010,you won’t be disappointed, get it and try it yourself. As long as you can live without facetime, imessage and apple ecosystem, you will enjoy it,remember that samsung also has an ecosystem
I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max I used to Samsung no 10+ and honestly I miss Samsung phone a few months. I will be going back to Samsung and getting the 24 ultra.😊
I like iPhones more when it comes down to payments and transactions. The galaxy is fun though and feels more for personal stuff. I have iPhone 14 Pro Max and galaxy 23+. Won’t upgrade the iPhone for a while but I’m getting that s24 ultra.
Comparing both does not work well. iPhone came out last year. The ultra this year and has AI. To be a good comparison, you need to do the ultra and iPhone 16 with iOS 18 which suppose to have AI.
Lol 🤣😂🤣 So, in your opinion, it's less fair to compare 2 smartphones (IPhone 15 Pro Max vs S24 Ultra) that are 3 months apart and processors of the same generation, than to compare, 2 smartphones (iPhone 16 Pro Max vs S24 Ultra), which will be 9 months apart and processors of different generation 🙄
Iphone 16 is coming out in September. Then a comparison of iphone 16 to S24 Ultra will come out. That would be a more fair review in my opinion since they'll both be 2024 phones. I've been a Samsung user for over 10 years( currently using Note 10 plus) and I'm considering an iphone for the first time ever. Waiting for the iphone 16 to come out before I decide to upgrade! Thanks for the great review 😊
I have an S22 Ultra and an IPhone 14plus, I'm going to upgrade to the S24 Ultra. I went to Bestbuy and I spent some time checking the S24 Ultra. Samsung did a great job with the S24 Ultra. I thank you for making this honest comparison. God bless. ✌️😊
I was thinking about the s24 ultra in Case if my s22 ultra will not support the carrier that I will be switching to. I will have to unlock it since my s22 ultra is AT&T and I wanted to switch to spectrum or mint mobile.
Great video Aaron. I'm in a blessed situation where I'm able to use both operating systems on a daily basis. I use a 15 Pro Max on my personal line and my job requires an android phone due to our company app. I'm using a OnePlus Open on my business line. For years the iPhone had a huge lead in processing power and battery efficiency. That's no longer the case. Once Qualcomm released the 8 Gen 1, Android has really been closing the gap on Apple. Qualcomm chips do much better with heat than Apple does at this point. Android functionality and features really are starting to lap Apple. The 15 Pro Max is by far the best iPhone in years but iOS is really becoming very stale. The OnePlus Open is the best phone I've ever used and rarely use my iPhone. I do love the overall family of products Apple offers and use my iPad Pro 12.9 and Airpod Pro 2 on a regular basis. I also love the Apple Watch Ultra and use that on the weekends but I really think Apples watches are due for a major design overhaul. During the week it's the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic which is just beautiful and works well with my OnePlus Open. Android has caught up and really blown past Apple in many ways. Whether it's processing power, battery life, OS smoothness, cameras, even in video. All of this along with all the new AI and software features have really leapfrogged what Apple is offering from specifically a standalone device like a phone. What many people don't talk about is that for years, Apple was all about polish and efficiency while Android was about features and options while usually sacrificing that efficiency. Over the past few years though, Android has continued to add more and more features while at the same time getting more and more efficient and smooth. Apple on the other hand, has attempted to make changes to iOS and add features, but iOS has become far more buggy than Android and is nowhere near as smooth or efficient as it once was. it really is disappointing.
Theres not a single phone in the world right now that is better than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the only phone that comes close is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
The photos seem brighter on the 15 Pro Max, and therefore looked better to me. Especially in the section where you asking us to comment. Overall, both phones take great photos & videos.
