If you only replace the SN2017( CD3217 in MacBook or iPad) without replacing the NOR flash. The charging and touch function will not recovery. Since the SN2012017 is connected with the NOR flash

@@arturklarecki7256for current solution is to replace them together, so make sure you can find a pair of SN2017 and NOR flash to ensure it can be work. Maybe in the future can be programming

@@AndrewWhitham so they say if you need to replace the ic, you need to swap over the nor flash too... interesting, been experimenting with these... swapped on 15 PM the charging ic and lost both touch and charging... put them back on as they initially were and got touch and charging back on one board, but the donor still has no touch although I put back the original ic.

Hi there, the new NOR flash is like compact memory IC to save the security data which have in the new SN2012017 charging IC. Therefore, if the SN2017 IC is broken, you have to replace the NOR flash also. By the way. The SN2012017 IC is same as the CD3217 IC which can be found in MacBook and iPad

CD3217 is the usb c charging IC which be using in MacBook and iPad. In iPhone 15 Pro, it called SN2017, but the function is same to CD3217

The new SN2012017 is not bonding with CPU, but have connection with the NOR flash. So if you need replace the SN2012017, you have to replace the new NOR flash as well

@@rewatechnology2008 thank you. What you say that if SN2017 failed and customer need data, I first have to back up the data, replace both chips and the re-flush the IOS with all customer data ?? What a mess for a charging chip

@@ronlevin2339no, the USB charging IC is connected with nor flash. If you don’t replace these two IC at same time. You will lose the charging & touch function
