Hey all! I grabbed some B-Roll from the impressions video and accidentally left the rest of it in around the 17 minute mark, sorry about that! - Adam, an ashamed editor
@@imelliamyou got the they don’t bother part right .. if they only lowered the price also they would have shifted a lot of units still .. but they didn’t
@@melgross no, a huge list of electronics is covered. The quote from EU council: «The new rules will apply to a wide range of portable devices: - mobile phones - tablets and e-readers - digital cameras and video game consoles - headphones, earbuds and portable loudspeakers - wireless mice and keyboards - portable navigation systems In addition, all laptops will also be covered by the new rules 40 months following the entry into force of the directive.»
Bruh, Not all Australian cattle dogs may be blue heelers, for example, there are red heelers... HOWEVER, THE DOG IN THE AD WAS A BLUE HEELER CATTLE DOG. Blue Heeler is an AKC recognized breed, Andrew deserved the point.
The premise of the question was if you were paying attention to the Apple event, so really the answer is only what was in the presentation. Not what the actual dog was.
Not sure which is better, Marques being so humble about winning the world championships, or his friends here on this show knowing he would be humble about it and bringing it up in such a perfect “no big deal but congrats and well done” way to fall right in line with his humble lead. Congrats!
Andrew should have gotten that point imo. Blue and red heeler are other names for Australian cattle dog based on its coat. And the dog in the apple event was in fact a blue heeler.
Did people forget about when Apple announced AirPower? I think that’s a good example of how Apple is not immune to announcing products and features and not releasing them
No exception to the golden rule! Stay always in the consumers' shoes. If a company asks to buy their product mainly for a feature which is not there, then rightfully the consumers shouldn't buy that product until the feature is actually out. For Marques, this can mean doing 2 reviews, 1 when the product is out (I guess because you must do it) recommending to wait before buying, and 1 when the feature is out sharing your final recommendations.
@@markcastillo3490ooooor, he's trying to adapt to the changing landscape. Google is doing similar things, and he definitely has the point that some companies are more trustworthy to deliver those features than others. It could be that phones coming out in the future will have more "delayed" features and if the phones are pretty similar, then it makes sense to include the comparison of the promised future features as well.
The rule "Never buy a product based on the promise of future software updates" should stand unchanged. If you're reconsidering this, why review the product now? Why not wait for the promised updates? Changing your stance on this makes your past critiques of other products feel inconsistent. Whether it's Apple or another company shouldn't matter-the point of a review is to inform buyers about the product as it stands today (at the point you are reviewing it) which is why the golden rule always made sense to me. You can mention future updates, but in no way should you use it to affect the customer's buying decision.
My theory on the AirPods Max is that their thought process was: 'If we just change the charging port to USB-C, some people will still buy the new version. Next year, we can make a real update and potentially double our sales from those who upgraded this time.'
I don’t care about wireless charging… but when my iPhone 12 charging port broke a month ago I was super thankful for it to tie me over till this launch
Wow ..never seen such a bad edit from @waveform. At one point they were just talking over the video of @ 18:51 MKBHD muted video apple event 1st impression.
I remain adamantly in support of G-folding devices as compared to S-folding devices, because the plastic screen will be protected when it's folded - and you can have a screen protector on the cover screen! I imagine making a case for it would be mighty difficult work.
Now it's time for me to do the dishes! 😝💯 I've already washed them, so I must just wipe and pack them. It shouldn't take too long, so I'll get back to modelling my iPhone 16 lineup in Blender afterwards.
1:08:45 this was the perfect ad coming off the conversation of getting a phone that’s missing features. So in this case, getting the be iPhone 16 Pro with Next Up is like being at your cookout and taking a sip of your “Sprite”, only to find out it’s just carbonated water. A terrible experience 😆
17:44 BINGO! One of my three daughters finds that the regular AirPods without the silicon tips fit much better, so she still uses those even though she likes the features of the AirPod Pros. So I think we now have all three areas covered: 1) VALUE (AirPods) 2) Non-Silicon PROs (aka AirPods with ANC) 3) Silicon AirPod PROs
For European users the thing is Apple Intelligence doesn‘t seem like to launch for example German until 2026 (next languages for 2025 were Spanish, French, Japanese and Chinese). -For those who say - use English as your language - it still doesn’t work, cause the messages, calendar entries, appointments, etc. it won’t understand. So also the EU story + outcome. Tough decision, prices at least remained the same here compared to last year. (iPhone 16 Pro Max: $1199 + tax// 1449€) Thanks for the show as always. 😉
Unfortunately for european residents it will not work even if you change the language. From apple support: “For European Union residents: Apple Intelligence will not currently work if you are in the EU and if your Apple ID Country/Region is also in the EU. If traveling outside of the EU, Apple Intelligence will work when your device language and Siri language are set to a supported language.” Nobody in europe should buy this phone. There is no road map yet, somebody suggests 2026, which means when iphone 18 will be released
I 100% trust apple to release apple intelligence. But as a reviewer you should treat it no different than the rabbit because who knows if it’s gonna be good or not, you can’t just take their word for it that it’ll be amazing.
Man Marquez looks like a basketball player playing ultimate frisbee because he towers over everyone. Congratulations on another great accomplishment! 🎉
Andrew definitely deserves the point. If all Blue Heelers are Australian Cattle Dogs then essentially what Andrew wrote is Australian Cattle Dog. The vice-versa not being true doesn't matter.
I don't use wireless charging but I do have a set of magnetic cables with the little dongles in all my devices and imo that's the best of both. I can use my phone or whatever while charging, every cord charges every device, and I can just stick it on magnetically without having to fiddle with chargers. Easily the best of both worlds.
The Apple Intelligence shouldn’t be part of the review because a lot of features could take 6 months or more release at which point many are just better off waiting for the 17 instead buying this now and waiting for features to drop
Watching on an iPhone 14 Pro and I like the upgrade to 16 because it’s different enough and I want the hardware there for what is most likely going to come.
Marques's title winning play was so sick, the skill the dedication, just wow however, the acrobatics he just did in defensive Apple's vaporware, the agility... Wow!!!
52:41- I dont get it why people are saying 4K120fps like it is something new on a phone? or like it is iPhone exclusive or that it is possible because of A18 Pro chip. Phones like Sony Xperia had it for years, even OnePlus 9 Pro had it back in 2021 with both Main and Ultrawide sensors, also phones like Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and etc. Most people don't even use it, because they are not content creators and don't work with video, plus 4K120fps takes insane amounts of space for even few seconds.
Android phones almost universally take worse video than iPhones. Nobody thinks Apple is the first to reach that spec. The point is now it’s in a good phone.
@@imelliam They many say 4k 120fps because of A18 Pro soc, while even SD888 was capable of it, it is mainly based on a sensor, and it is probably going to be possible with only main camera. "universally take worse" - yes and no. Android can take even better video than iPhones, becouse a lot of Android phones have better camera hardware, but it is extremely limited by stock camera apps, recording in very low bit rates and not great codec. But apps like MotionCam Pro unlocks full potential of camera hardware and it can take better video than iPhones ProRes LOG, being able to record fully RAW video or DirectLOG, outputting insane quality. So in this case, chip is completely irrelevant. Yet many people don't even know about it.
1:05:18 “That would be like, at the Apple event, they announce the purple iPhone and then that didn’t come out until spring” That literally happened with the iPhone 4 in white 😂
