I hate it when people say that technology is advancing rapidly, I find that the pace of development and adoption frequently feels slow. It can be frustrating waiting for significant improvements and innovations
@@JordiHermsen96It depends. Our processing power is advancing at a pretty rapid pace, if you compare phones from 2015 to now as an example. The thing holding pretty much everything back is our batteries. Lithium-ion batteries are kinda crappy, but finding a better alternative requires a groundbreaking development in material science.
The technology is already here but the product isn’t, in fact the whole projector keyboard has already been made by hobbyists on RU-vid if you search for it.
I never used to get the point of the these concepts. But now I realise that they are a fun way for students and amateur/semi-professionals to showcase their digital design and animation skills. Good job 👍

The thing I love about all these old iPhone concept videos is that they had some REALLY crazy ideas -- a projected keyboard and trackpad that don't suck, a high-quality micro-projector, macOS on an iPhone in 2013...and yet none of them ever imagined something as simple as a bigger screen and smaller bezels.

I guess we can do it kinda with today's Android phones. Samsung has this Dex mode. While it is not a projector, it makes the OS into a desktop mode that you can run on a monitor. And you can install Xbox game pass and run GTA 5 on it via cloud gaming.

Seeing “7 years ago” makes me feel so old. I remember saving up mowing money to buy my first iPhone (4), and watching this while my dad was driving me to basketball practice at 5 in the morning. I always thought to myself “can’t wait to save up for that, it’s gonna be so awesome having a projector whenever I want.” Lmao, to think we’re nowhere close.
