Cool experiment but I think the microwave just messed up the battery so it's telling you the wrong percentage.

The second before the battery jumped from 9% to 38%, you said that you charged the phone a little bit.

This may or may not mean anything but when he started the video, the time on the phone and microwave was 12:31 or so. After he cut it, it was 4:05. That gives him time to charge it. I think this video is a hoax. I love your videos Tech, but I don't believe this one...

I don't think the evidence can be confirmed although the percentage was 38% you did in fact say in the video that you put the phone on the charger.

I like using the microwave to charge my iPhone. I've an 800w one and 3 mins is 👌 to get from 20%-80%. The amazing feature where it automatically shuts off when I dump it in water is great too. The low power mode when I'm in the shower is excellent. And I totally owned apple because I drilled a hole in my phone to reach the hidden secret headphone jack! I heard that there's a secret way to charge your phone with kinetic energy... You wrap your phone in a pillowcase or towel and smash a big hammer down on it and the kinetic energy is absorbed into the battery. You need the towel or tshirt or whatever so you don't scratch it when you pound it with a hammer. Seriously guys try it.

it actually works. Thanks man. I tried it on lowest on my microwave and for about 30-35sec. Battery was charged fast from 24% to 78%. It`s incredible! Be careful. I dont recommend anyone tries this, anything you do it is your own responsibility!

I use wave exclusively now, usually only 10 seconds but 90% charge. It's useful if you don't have much time and need some charge

I may know the reason behind the red screen. On my old iPhone 4 i dropped it a couple times and i got a permanent red screen. When I went to a repair place they checked it out and said that one of the cables hooking up to the pixels detached. Due to you smashing the iPhone 6 that could've caused that same wire to become loose and maybe wriggle around then click back into place. Hope i helped!

This is great, shame it only work's for iPhone. I've been after a new way to charge my Samsung Galaxy so I chucked it in a deep fat fryer for 5 minutes and it went from 9% to 100% . It actually works!!

Well, the reason it jumped up was that you fried the phone's internals. Broken things tend to be inaccurate. That's also why your password wasn't working.

This feature looks pretty nifty. I might upgrade from my lagdroid to the 6 plus. I can't wait to show off this feature in my school. Will a 600 watt microwave charge it or do i need like the industrial ones that go to 12 kilo watts?

It's not really charging by being in the microwave but more then likely energizing circuits. Basically the microwaves are sending supercharged signals to the sensors and processor

I’m in a high school film class, what he did there to make it teleport to 38% was called Matching Action, so he ended the clip and charged it and then continued it from that same position. The camera was probably propped up on some stand so it can stand in the exact position.

Even if you did and you take the time to call AppleCare, I hope the advisor you talk to gives you a nice lecture about proper charging. Okay, by now, most people can differentiate iOS as being software, not hardware. But it still annoys me that for a period of almost three months, tech "experts" were asking themselves if this was real! I mean, first of all, would Apple really let you charge your iPhone in the microwave? How ridiculous is that? Apple hasn't even given a hint of introducing Wireless Charging to iPhone. On the bright side, at least I know that, beside some people who believe everything they read, most consumers are smart enough not to microwave their phones (of any kind). The microwave is only meant to heat food, OK?
