Headphone jack is going the way of the floppy disk, cd rom, flash etc etc. Apple ALWAYS does things like this and the others will eventually follow (how many new thin laptops have cd drives?). Just get over it!!! Makes a lot of sense to move to wireless. We don't complain when smartwatches dont have headphone jacks, same will go for phones and computers sooner or later.
+jhe3903 actually, it only makes sense when they have a better solution like floppy is replaced by thumbdrives. their solution is only either expensive or proprietary and neither adds on or improves upon the current standard apart from being wireless. 3.5mm headphones have never had much problems delivering high quality audio.

I am so glad Apple started giving out press units. Currently on a 6S+ and I have no immediate plans on upgrading. Just...not enough differences for me.
AT&T is giving $650 credit towards the iphone 7 if you trade in a 6/6plus, 6s/6s plus regardless of the SSD size. I can't sell my iphone 6S Plus 64GB for $650 so I might as well trade it in for a free iphone 7.
Yeah between the G4 - G5, there was nothing new, S6 to S7 nothing new, Xperia A to Xperia Z, nothing new. Phones have nothing new. It's just about if you want the newest one.

Sources says that the removing the headphone jack made it thinner and removing the home button added for extra level of water resistance. Some will like it, others will not.
LOL you guys are hilarious. They didn't REMOVE the headphone jack, they CHANGED IT and gave you new free headphones and a free adapter if you want to use your old ones, and they didn't remove it just to add haptic, they removed it because they made it obsolete, changed the game, added an additional speaker for Stereo output, and it was another unnecessary water ingress point they sealed up. I'm blown away that people are so stuck on not having an antiquated 3.5mm jack.

What do you like about it? I only experienced it for a few weeks before i switched back to Samsung. I din't find much use for it besides live photos (which I loved)
+Corporal Cookie may be for ios 9 but with ios 10 it's just amazing. It's everywhere in Notification Center, folders, widgets, control center and now more apps have implemented it too.

If you aren't doing anything more than talk text and a few videos on your phone.. there is no need to upgrade from the 5s/6/6+/6s/6s+/se for the next 5 years... By then we'll have new network technologies like 5G and even then 4G LTE will be absolutely everywhere at full rated speed of 50mpbs...
Jonathan wealth != smartphone. I've got a iPhone 6 Plus and it has not missed a beat for the things I use it for. It just needs to do calls, texts, navigation, news, and youtube.
What if I have an extremely slow 4s? Should I wait? (Screen cracked back and front, very slow when doing anything on it, phone dies at 25% battery) Or should I just go for the 7
I use wireless charging now for years! Its so much simpler to just lay down your phone on your table and it loads overnight. Also its better for the battery life.
Right!? It's so stupid that they remove the headphone jack and tout that the future is wireless then they don't even include wireless charging which, as +faddi23 stated, has been in other devices for years.
I don't know what happened behind the scenes at The Verge but they've really stepped up their game since people hated on their HTC 10 review. You guys have put out some really good videos since then so keep it up!
+sexntuna IMO the only thing Apple has going for it rn is iOS and it's performance. embarrassingly enough Android still hasn't beaten the 6s in performance due to Android being such an unoptimized OS and lazy OEMs

Serious question, when they said that they removed the headphone jack to make it water resistant, how come samsung's phone has a headphone jack and has a higher water resistance rating? I feel like it's a lie to from Apple to remove analog media so they have more control over things in the future
When you have a phone and a dslr quality lens in your pocket, that's pretty impressive, of course people are going to buy this model instead of the smaller one. Especially as it has 3gb of ram.
Why would I spend my money on a DSLR if I will never carry the camera everywhere I go. Most photos worth taking are those that happen when you least expect it. DSLRs are not the perfect solution for everybody.
All jokes aside though I pre ordered the Note 7 as soon as they allowed them, but now I have to wait until the beginning of March which sucks. At least I hadn't sold my S6 Edge+ yet.
What does the word innovate mean to you, actually what company can always keep "innovation" up. And why is it that people expect Just one company to do it? I'm fine with the way they've been going, the only thing that lets me down is the camera bumps and the sometimes bad software launches. Yes they do need to hit the chalk board and figure out what can help the consumer next, regarding products. But the 8 is supposed to be the real upgrade.
I wanted to love the iPhone 7 when i first saw it unveil at the press conference. I was really excited, but I believe I will just skip a year and wait for the iPhone 7s and hope that a much bigger leap has been made.

Ecryptix ! I have the 7 plus. They're quite a bit louder, and sound more full. The bottom speaker is probably the same as on the previous ones, but the top speaker adds a lot to the experience.
Wow, so gone are the days when you guys used the iPhone as the Gold Standard to benchmark other phones. Now, it seems like you're more impressed with the Galaxy line, and are using that as the benchmark for the iPhones.
It has the best LCD screen in mobile phones. I agree that it's technically behind but I'm sure that it would have a good display and this is coming from someone who uses the galaxy s7

You're pretty much saying that you think it's too advanced for this gen, but it's not.. If Apple wanted to throw all they have and put all their efforts into a phone, then yes, it would, but they're not doing that. They're releasing already improved upon technology little by little just so suckers that feel a need to upgrade to the new iPhone because they think they're cool throw more money at them.. It's a greedy company that has a lot more to offer than it's letting on, and it's disappointing that they don't go all out..
I've had the S7 edge over the past few months and honestly I haven't been very impressed with it at all. The phone runs slow, battery life has been awful unless I'm in power saving mode, and apps don't perform very well. I've grown to appreciate android and the customization but my heart keeps going back to the iPhone. Can't wait for mine to arrive!
How many benchmarks do you need to see to realize that android specs are just words on a page...actual real-life performance is where iPhones excel...nice promises of terabytes of ram exist in the android word but you still see stuttering on 2016 devices...

The Note 7 and the Galaxy S7 lineup is known for having the best screens and cameras on the market. Plus, the Note 7 has a Micro SD card that can be expanded to 256GB (That's ALOT btw) so..
