Remember guys, the slower the charge generally means less heat generated, which means the battery will physically last longer. I think iPhone doesn't support 30W charging, so it throttled into 20W, which you might see the result between 20W and 30W were similar. Also, larger power means more heat and energy dissipated which is not as efficient as its lower power. Your testing was very good, you gave us an insight which power adapter should be bought. For suggestion, you could create a chart for comparing your test result, as it would significantly help user to understand and determine which is better. 👍👍

U will find ALL charging slows down after the 50% mark because that’s when they start to slow charge, this is to essentially to keep heat down inside the battery 🔋 (there’s a lot of chemistry & electronics going on but will take forever to explain) this will all help to keep your battery in a better condition & make it last longer. Therefore most fast chargers are a waste of time. What can help though is a charger that help condition your battery, if u put it on a trickle charge overnight then you should find that within a few weeks of using you should see small increases in battery performance. Again though is it really worth it?
@buttonholes
@buttonholes 3 года назад
I’m more interested to see how a wired usb-c charger compares to MagSafe from 60% charge to 100% and also 80%-100% since all chargers slow to a trickle the more a phone is charged. MagSafe might be just as good, better, or about the same once a phone is at 60-80% to get to 95%, which is the majority of my charging before I leave the house. Also, a lot of people mostly charge overnight and the slow charge saves the battery over time, and when you need to grab your phone waking up, it’s easier to pull off and put back on the MagSafe while groggy. I wonder especially if MagSafe is an improvement on 7.5w Qi charging for that last 30-40% of a charge.

You cannot test MagSafe this way. From Apple: It's important to plug into a power source before placing your iPhone on the MagSafe Charger. This allows MagSafe to verify it's safe to deliver maximum power. If you happen to place your iPhone on the MagSafe Charger before plugging into a power source, simply remove your iPhone from the MagSafe Charger, wait three seconds, and then put it back on to resume maximum power delivery.

All these people on here ragging the MagSafe saying it's not worth it...I have used wireless charging for my iPhones for the last 3 years. I can't tell you how annoying it is when the phone gets moved just slightly somehow (sometimes from the phone vibrating while on the pad) and then it no longer has the connection and doesn't charge while I'm sleeping at night. The MagSafe removes that worry altogether. Would a cable remove that worry as well? Yeah, but the last time I had an iPhone without wireless charging, the lightning port eventually stopped working. Wireless charging is the way of the future and now. Especially since Apple is toying with getting rid of ports altogether (see MKBHD's video). You can't compare wireless charging to hardline charging. But, if you want to charge wireless, MagSafe is the best way to go because of that satisfying snap of the magnet and knowing that the phone will charge overnight while you're asleep. Which, with the way these batteries last these days, unless you are an ultra power user, you should only need to charge overnight anyhow.

Slow charging is good for the phone at certain percentages. The phone chooses how much power it will take based on how charged and hot the battery is. If you need to charge while using, a slower charger is good for not making the phone hot and charging it too fast. If you need a 20w charger, do not use the phone while charging. Wireless charging is dumb. It takes over twice the power from the wall to wirelessly charge. It is inefficient by nature
