Transferring photos from iPhone to Windows computer is usually simple, but sometimes you might encounter the Something went wrong error while transferring iPhone photos.
You may fail to import iPhone pictures through Microsoft Photos if the installation of the Photos app is corrupt. Moreover, the incompatibility between the HEIC format & Windows may also result in the error under discussion. The issue arises when a user tries to import iPhone pictures through Microsoft Photos but fails to do so.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, and Samsung.

For those who have not the Apple Mobile Device Service: I successfully managed to import pictures and videos by going to "this PC" in the explorer > making a right click into "Apple Iphone" (section devices and drives) > import pictures and videos. I'm on win 10. Hope it'll be the solution for you too.

they’re rivals. MS doesnt put any effort into making their software compatible with iOS, and Apple does the same thing. this is why that guy got fired for taking a picture of MS using Macs to test Xbox OS years ago.

After 6hrs of trying to figure it out with the same problem & almost giving up I got it to work. Do the following on your iphone. Go to Settings > Photos > under "transfer to mac or PC" select "keep originals" this then allowed me to upload onto the pc

Nothing I have tried has worked. Has anyone found a solution? My computer does not have Apple Mobile Device Services. I have tried downloading a few at a time and I still keep getting “something went wrong”

@@rikoflishas try leaving your phone in for 20mins mine took a while to load as it has 128gb of photos. just connect it and leave your pc for 20 mins go and watch tv and come bacck it should be there

try leaving your phone in for 20mins mine took a while to load as it has 128gb of photos. just connect it and leave your pc for 20 mins go and watch tv and come bacck it should be there

Microsoft Photos is the program that won't import. It's a Windows program, not from Apple.

@@iwasdeceived photos works perfectly well with android phones. Its the damn iphone crap which stops the photos from importing. Can't do it from icloud or itunes or via cable. It should be very simple to transfer from the damn phone to a pc. It shows iphones are rubbish. I'd not use mine if it wasn't a work one.

Is there a chance that not using original Apple lightning cable can cause this ? I am able to port 200/4000 photos every time Then it throws error Same on Picassa same on Microsoft photos

Is it possible that because I have a 'work phone' I am not able to transfer my photos? I've done all of the steps (even had to download itunes, etc..) and I get: "This Iphone is supervised by another computer and cannot be used with this computer". Is there still a way that I can get my photos from this phone? I did once and for the life of me, I cannot remember how. So frustrating.

Nothing works to resolve this issue its a purposeful bug from apple? microsoft? This was not an issue back when? 2019? I think the issue is with apples video compression codec used and the live photos. Google photos app on iphone imports video & live photos fine.

I have found the problem, when you edit a video on iPhone, an editable or modification is created, for example, rotate the frame, that editable makes it appear that it modifies a new video (I have not tried it on edited images) but only a 100kb file is created and in Photo app it puts a capture of the real video and the edited file of that video, when you pass the photo and video to the PC is when photo app does something strange and decides not to export, MY SOLUTION, by allowing the iphone to give access to the PC wait about 2 minutes until it appears (I don't know why it takes to recognize) in Windows explorer and go through the photos folder, copy paste and so it will not give you any errors, that's how it worked for me, regards.

This didn't help, do you know what else I can try? I've restarted both devices. reset everything I can reset without deleting everything off the phone because that defeats the point of trying to save the images from the phone, bought a brand new cable, changed USB ports, phone completely up to date, EVERYTHING. It's the absolute bane of my life and I fully believe this is intentional on Apple's part so I have to buy a new phone but this phone is only 2 years old! Criminal.

Delete ITunes and reinstall. Don’t click the download button at the very top of the page, click Windows download at the bottom of the page. Also, delete the photos app on your PC. This could delete any photos you have so there is also a button to “fix” the photos app, so try that first. The combination of these 2 steps fixed it for me.
