Came here to say that. I live in a third world country where the prices are jacked up by import duties and what not. If I have to get this phone I have to almost pay 38% of the phone's amount in taxes but as someone who have always wanted to get an iPhone because let's face it everyone once in their life wants one especially in India. I want to thank Ritchie for the absolutely detailed camera review and the performance review because if I am going to spend this amount I would want to know everything. That camera sample image comparison was absolutely what I needed. Again, thank you for putting out such a detailed review.. Subscribed.
@@soumendu5616 The Apple India site says that the prices start from 42,500; so the 128 version might sell for atleast a 10k more. Not worth it to buy in India. I'm looking to upgrade my almost 4 year old SE to this one. Might wait till all the restrictions are lifted (hopefully) and get one from the U.S itself.
For me it’s super simple. I want to be in the iOS eco system, I like an iPhone, but not 1000 Dollars plus. So, I buy this because it’s good enough, does almost everything the expensive one does and it’s cheap.
@@bhp9415 I'm not a power user, I am upgrading from an Iphone 7 to the SE 2020. Battery has never been a problem for me on the 7, so no worries on my end.
Been waiting all week to receive my iPhone se2020. I’ve had the original SE and am so pumped to have the modern version. I’m rare in the fact that I prefer smaller phones and couldn’t be more excited to get a smaller phone with so much power. Thanks for the review!
Renee Ritchie… The new voice of Apple tech! I love how you produce videos for the masses! And don’t let any bias to get in the way. I am iPhone 11 Pro Max all the way and I am the kind of person that has a new iPhone every year. My mother-in-law, however, was using an iPhone 6 and I’ve been trying to convince her to upgrade for years. Turns out, this was the iPhone for her, based on your recommendation. She absolutely loves all your reviews and so do I!
Not biased? On Vector he would literally have 1 sentence of cons for the iPhones and 30 minutes of praises. He was adamant that Apple wasn't slowing the phones down. The guy who thinks Apple can do no wrong. Yeah not biased at all.
You're the kind of person who doesn't give a crap about our planet, huh? Surprised you would so readily publicise that... Seriously, in what kind of third world country do you live that you don't get crap from co workers, family, etc for buying a phone every year?
Filipe Saramago Don’t give me your hippy BS. Just because you can’t afford a new phone every year, don’t take it out on those who can. Also, I recycle my phone every year.
Tyler Beeson Absolutely especially when you get the speed of their flagship iPhone. To me iPhone SE 2020 with a low price gets rid of the bs from what Apple uses for the flagship to make it £1000 phone!
Love my iPhone 11 but I think I could easily make the switch to the SE. I'm not a power user so I feel like the smaller battery wouldn't be an issue for me if it got me through the day.
@@sanderhoogeland9161 Oh I agree, maybe my original point didn't make sense, I'm not going to switch from my iPhone 11 but given the way I use my phone I could use the new SE and get used to the differences easily.
Leafer81 yeah same although the gesture controls have grown on me and I’m not a super heavy user either. I love Face ID tho so I definitely wouldn’t go back but like you the switch wouldn’t be that hard
I have never owned an iPhone before but now I am thinking about trying one of these. IP rating and wireless charging and top of the line processor and years of updates and excellent security for a reasonable price!
I've watched mostly every iPhone SE review / first impressions video uploaded today and this was the most detailed video I came across. Hats off to you Sir, Keep up the good work!
Rene’s review is comprehensive, and shows his deep understanding of the industry and the trends of products as always. One of the most impressive part is the mentioning of Google’s implementation of its ‘3D Touch’. As a Pixel user, from what I know, this is a very tiny feature in the last feature drop and don’t really appear except for a few Reddit threads. As a Apple reviewer, Rene’s comparison showed his great understanding and knowing details really well in the industry. This review isn’t the general overview or unboxing as some other reviewers do. It’s been a pleasure watching your informative reviews. Well done!
Excellent review; it tells me everything I need to know. I went from the iPhone 4 to the SE; I like the form factor and the SE 2020 is the closest I’ll get to that. It’s the right price point and the improve performance is more than satisfactory for my needs.
Mustafa Galib very much so. Didn’t like him until I became an Apple fan and saw the light. Now I’m rocking the iPhone 11 Pro Max, AirPods and a 2013 MacBook Pro 😂😂😂
Literally, downgraded from a 12 pro max and I’m so much happier not carrying that big ass phone around everywhere. Plus I remember how much I hated Face ID when I first started using it again.
I sold my 11 128GB and got this last week because I told myself that I‘m not spending these amounts of money on a phone anymore and I wanted something more compact. Weil, I couldn‘t be happier, I love this phone!
Is it? I have a Samsung tablet from 5 years ago with 16 gigabytes. I'm only going to say this once. 16 gigabytes is ENOUGH. sure it would be nice to be able to have a few more apps, but I already have a dozen I don't use. 32 gigabytes would be plenty for me. I just cannot comprehend why anybody other than a professional photographer would need 128 gigabytes. It's insane. I'm actually curious. Please tell me, I literally cannot think of why you would need that huge of a storage on a phone. Thanks!
Pricing in Europe is really outta control. In Russia the base model is effectively $150 more than in the US which is ridiculous even if you account for included VAT
Brought one eleven days ago and I love it. My first iPhone from using android. I got the white one. Apple 🍎 has a new customer. Awesome. Nice video review.
Sir you have made me unsubscribe from other tech channels! Amazing review, no BS and everything the actual consumer would care about. I can't thank you enough! Cheers✨
The best review so far. Everything that I want to know is greatly detailed! Will definitely buy and upgrade my phone. **Watching through my 4 year old iPhone 6S.
Face ID is literally useless now because of the “face mask fashion”. I might consider getting an SE, my good old XR is difficult to use outdoors because I have to wear a facemask.
@@Andrew-qm5dg That's literally a worse phone in every way than the iPhone SE 2. you can get a new one with 128 gigs for that same price, except the SE has better battery life, a faster and more efficient processor, a better camera, etc. It would be an ok alternative, but I really don't see the point.
I’m actually switching from my XS Max to this. Finding I don’t need a 1200 dollar iPhone for what I use a phone for anymore, plus it lowers my bill a ton. Looking forward to the switch.
@@carmstrong6507 or not. my brother never uses a case on his one plus 6t. why? because he doesn't like the feel and look of a case. He's had it for about a year now. Guess what? Not once has he dropped it or has it fallen. I guess people just need to wash the butter off of their fingers lol
Hey, thanks for mentioning that international pricing kinda suck. I'm grateful that it cost 460 in my country. Do u recommend me to buy SE? I'm android user and just curious about switching to ios. But I didn't plan to buy other Apple products, just iPhone. Is it worth it?
If you need to transfer files from a Windows computer to your phone via the USB, stay on Android. Otherwise, buy the SE. The only Android phone that can rival the SE is the unreleased Pocophone F2.
@@NuryPPanaligan not true, there are a lot of phones better than this 2015 phone, and cheaper. Check the Xiaomi 9T Pro for instance, then tell me what you prefer 🤔
It’s an amazing phone so fast and beautiful, if you want an iPhone that will withstand the test of time for years to come, but you don’t care about getting the latest design or best camera then get this and guess what it has an amazing camera anyways, a13 chip, it’s amazing I love it
@@BAYDROID It will get you throughout the day if you use it for only 4 hours and that's ok. There are better things to do out there than using gadgets.
@@neverlessification i have around 5hs SOT on average per day. It's just not enough for most of us. And even if it 'w for you... some days you probably will need a bit more, and those days you will regret buying that phone
Thank you, sir, for the review. I have a question that baffles me and I have not yet had an answer. is the iOS montage programs better than the Android montage programs? I actually don't own a pc, so i want to buy a phone that I can rely on in montage, i.e. the phone be the closest to a pc in terms of quality and professionalism of montage. In this case, do I have to go to iOS or Android?
Ahmed أحمد For sure the iPhone! I’ve tried it when I used to have my android phone but continually got frustrated with performance, functionality, and ..even file management surprisingly. All of which were easier and seemless on iOS once I switched
A X is a maybe, if you never got used to FaceID or gestures then you could switch back even if you do have an 11, if you do have an 11 though and you got used to the gestures and FaceID then I do not recommend it, if you have an X it’s a maybe but if you have an X you are losing on that OLED, dual camera, FaceID, 1080p display, bezelless design etc, but if you really don’t care about that and all you care about is Software support and price then go for it
Well done sir!! Amazing indebt review of iphone Se,so helpful n informative, so badly needed for decision-making to spend ur money in ths crisis situation👍👍
128 since it's only $50 more than the 64gb variant. It's a better deal if you don't use that much storage but prefer extra space. I take a TON of photos and don't even use up 64gb.
128gb should be good. I have 128gb iPhone 7+ but have only used 54gb total over the years. I’ve never even gotten to over 100gb used so you should be fine.
Many tech reviewers out there just don't get it. Some people don't care about $1000 phones and especially $1400 (Samsung) Although I own iPhone XS Max, I do recognize that this phone at $400 is an absolute champ without any meaningful drawbacks. I enjoyed watching your review Rene. You showcase many uses of the phone. Keep up the good work.
Great work Rene! I will say that I'm looking forward to my SE arriving Friday. I traded in my Xr because it's just too big for my pocket and hands, for me it's all about ergonomics. I also like the fact that I'll be able to text or swipe type one handed much easier.
It's not just you, I have *gigantic* hands and can use the 11 Pro Max one handed pretty comfortably, but I'm switching to the SE2 too because it just feels so small and like you don't have a brick attached to ur body. If they could take out some of the internals to make it thinner, make it full screen ( touch ID on the back, no Face ID notch ) I'd pay any price.
@@creayt Oh wow but I can understand completely. I keep the phone in an otterbox for security and it's a brick and doesn't fit in the pocket. 6.1 inches is just too big. Not to mention having Touch ID will be wonderful again. Have tried Android phones yes the fingerprint ID on the back would be awesome.
Excellent video, as always, Rene. 👍 It looks a compelling phone. Personally, I’d like to see an iPhone SE+ (aka iPhone 8 Plus). The larger form factor with the blistering A13 chip.
I’ve one ordered for Friday delivery. My contract actually works out less per month than my iPhone 7, albeit over a long period! My daughter has an XS Max, so I’ll be able to tell her my phone is newer and potentially faster.
