Not worth it at all to upgrade if you have an iPhone SE 2. The speed is almost the same, you will only notice the extra 1 GB of RAM if you keep so many apps in the background. Camera is also almost the same, the 2nd generation Smart HDR is so good that you can’t really tell the difference between the two unless you put them at tougher lightning conditions. I’m also disappointed that Apple didn’t put Night mode in the SE 3. I prefer that over photographic styles.
I agree having the SE2 for 2 years, the battery is just horrible, easily killable in half a day, all good having alot of power put it can keep up with the power of the chip, kinda like having a v12 engine with a 5 litre fuel tank.
I switched from a 12 Pro Max to a 2022 SE. I am happy with the SE. I would recommend joining the upgrade program, if you need the latest and greatest technology.
I had the 2020 SE, and upgraded to 2022 SE. I noticed the 2022 was snappier and responded faster when scrolling and taking photos. And the photo quality is a tad better. The processor does its work 👍 And the extra battery 🔋 life is noticeable. Personally I have had the 13 and 14 and I like them to, but I don’t like the new phones getting fatter. I like the thin phone look. So, I prefer the SE 2022.
I can imagine, and wonder about the cameras. It will be similar work like camera in 11s vs 13s... 13s vs 12s was faster processing + photographic styles. Damn I like this SE... series
Great comparison video of both the SE's. I have the SE2 and SE for backup - I was never big on the bells and whistles although I do wish the camera was better but it does what it does just fine for what I need it for. I don't want to be obsessed with playing with my phone all day. Lol!
Coming from iPhone 7 with that price difference,I prefer to get used SE 2 for about 200€.Not sure if I’m gonna keep the old design for as long the SE 3 lasts,so the SE 2 is a perfect upgrade from IPhone 6s/7/8 now.Maybe as time goes on and the price drops the SE 3 would be a better deal, feels a bit overpriced now.
Really really need a phone like the SE 3 or even 2 for easy one handed use, and the tidy, slick feeling of the latest Apple UI.. battery is making me feel a little nervous but everything else sounds perfect for me. To be fair I'm not actually a person who minds plugging in for a charge often so maybe I'm good.
I have the SE 2 and use it as a backup to my iPhone 13. For that purpose, it wouldn't pay to upgrade. If you are coming from an iPhone 7 or 8, then by all means upgrade.
U know what man? In India which is my country iPhone se2 is still 399$ and se3 costs way more like 580$. So I naturally went for se2 and tbh i am very satisfied with it ,I bought se2 like 2 days after se3 was launched😅. It does almost everything a flagship does and it is sleek feels great in hand.
From India too, same issue here bro, its too much price diff, in two minds Se2 128gb 18k replaced new Apple authorised battery or 64gb Se3 25k , 98% im a SE1 user, what would be ur pick or ideal shift, , if it was Se3 i would go for 128gb but thats @30k plus. Out of budget. I was thinking to pick up Se2 for now and maybe Se3 later. All Second hand price. Thnx in advance. 😊👍🏻
@@sunildmello2610 both are great for day to day use and performance wise both are flagship level. Se3 is 5g but 4G will work perfectly fine for at least a decade so se2 is a great option too at 18k. I’d say go for the one that fits ur budget comfortably. Both devices are extremely future proof but both have small batteries and will hardly last u a day.
@@Heatzilla Big thanks Bro for the much needed advise Appreciate it. I think SE 2 should be okay. As I understand 64gb starts filling up within a year.. So 128gb is a good option too. Thnx again 🙏👍 . 18k piece is sold now I will still look for SE3 if a get a good price 128gb, If not SE 2 will be fine for me.
I have the iPhone se 2020 been using it for two years now the battery health is 82% and still runs smoothly for a two year old iPhone 📱 I got it on May 28th 2020
Go to the Apple store and they will put a new battery in for $50 and it will run like new again! Just got a new battery for my 2016 SE and it breathed new life into it. I'm going to upgrade to a SE 3 for the 5g, the extra RAM, better battery life, better camera, and the A15 processor.
I am expecting my SE 3 today. I have a good SE 2 but the battery health is at 80 percent and I have to recharge at least once by 7 pm. I love the size and design of the SE.
If only they could squeeze a better battery in there. But I got mine because the other iPhones are too expensive for me, and I prefer a home button to. Helps that it’s more compact to 😅
Coming from someone who doesn’t really use iPhone cameras for photography. I’m more of a film photography guy anyway. Plus, I don’t believe leasing phones just to upgrade every year. You never own the phone and always ‘rent’ it. Hate doing that. So, the iPhone SE 2020 is perfect for me. I don’t even have socials and I don’t want to spend tons of money for a cell phone. I’m a pretty low budget guy when it comes to cell phones. Spend money on better stuff tbh like experiences. Not cell phones. Good comparisons video (I know this video is old) but iPhone SE is the way to go.
I upgraded from SE 2020 to SE 2022 about a week ago and for me the upgrade is really worth it especially nowadays. Faster cellular data (5G), less laggy (but sometimes yes unfortunately), better multitasking, I don't know why but for some reason Touch ID works better too, less overheating while using on direct sunlight or charging and battery life is just insane. It lasts at least 50%, in some cases 100% more than SE 2020 and even after about 100 cycles, the battery health is still at 100%.
bro you are literally listing all the negatives; bad battery, same camera, design from 2014, literally no difference in the way the phone performs right now at a higher price and you still reccomend the SE3?
i love these iphone se phones cause i dont like the new phone design that dont have a home button so im using an iphone se 2020 for calling and work stuff and iphone se 2022 for personal stuff
I just purchased iPhone se 2 from a neighbor for $110. She had it for about 1 &1/5 -2 years. It seems fine & I don't take fancy photos. I am always concerned about battery health. My battery doesn't last all day, usually. I had previously had 1st iPhone 6s which I had gotten from this neighbor. In fact, this is only my 2nd cell phone. But this is all I can afford & it seems to be commensurate with my needs. I was told @ phone store that it could last 5-7 years. What do you think? i got a beautiful green phone case for it which shows Apple logo & is sturdy.
Planning to get a new SE3 (128gb), but saw a deal and bought a SE2 instead. Got it for $200 (256gb, 90%batt health, locked in my carrier tho), and i glad i did! I know longevity-wise SE3 still has the edge but i dont think its worth the price for the difference today. They will still be close to each other in performance til maybe 2025/2026. So getting my SE2 256gb this time for $200 is so freakin worth! PS. Average batt life is something i can live with bc im always around a socket.
@@YourMother6yrsago dude I got my SE 2020 last year for £200 and 99% battery health. From the Facebook marketplace, could’ve been dodgy dealers… i don’t know but..
I almost bought the SE 3 from my carrier, T Mobile which would have been the standard 64 gb phone, instead I went to a private dealer and got a brand new SE 2 with 256 gb for $100 less than what I would’ve gotten from T Mobile and that’s the best choice I made!’ Very happy.
A lot of carriers (primarily MVNO's) now have the SE2 for $149, which is the real game-changer here. If you're talking making the choice between the SE2 at $399 or the SE3 at $429, that's a no-brainer for the 3. However, when you're talking between $149 and $429 for a brand-new iPhone, it's SE2 for the win even if it does have the older chipset and no 5G. I mean, it's not even close. Let's also not forget that, just two years ago, the SE2 was praised as the best mid-range phone you could buy over pretty much any Android. It's still going to get years of OS upgrades and the A13 chip is still phenomenal. For under $150.00, that's a steal. I'm showing personal bias here because I've almost always purchased new iPhones that are a generation or two behind. What was hailed as a "best phone on the planet" can't just become a worthless brick a year or two later, specifically when it is an iOS device. Apple is still selling the 11 on their website, for example, and that has the same chip as the SE2.
I have an iPhone SE 2022 3rd generation from a 3rd party seller, it has 128GB, battery life is 89%, I just got it Monday but I'm switching to a bigger phone tomorrow as it will be the 14 Pro max
True if it were me I’d obviously go for one with more memory, people say the design is dated. But isn’t that the whole point of the design in the first place?? For people who like the older design and don’t want to spend a fortune? Like being able to get on the iPhone ladder? That’s why I have an SE 2
@@slayerx5902 I believe until 2025 and later I think some believe it to be until 2027 which I won’t be surprised the last security update has been done for the iPhone 7’s. Meaning they’ve been supported for 5 - 6 years now??
Nah, I need more incentive if I’m upgrading from my SE2. My SE2 is great; I love this phone; sure the battery life isn’t great but I’ll take that over spending a boat load of money on something that will eventually have the same issue. I don’t need 5G and it’s honestly not that much of an enhancement in my experience with it. The camera; if they would have included Night Mode; I would of easily said yes to upgrading to the SE3. Night Mode makes a world of difference but luckily; tons of camera and editing apps offer this feature… overall; stick with your SE2 and wait for another SE model… the SE2 hasn’t lost its touch or anything and it’s a fantastic iPhone even today
I bought an as new customer return iPhone SE 2020 this year for £229. It still has 100% battery capacity. I do not have 5G in my county and so would not have benefitted from the slightly faster iPhone SE 2022 5G. My iPhone SE 2020 is faster than most Android flagship phones and so is fast enough for me. The only downside is the small 4.7 inch LCD display. LCD is poorer than OLED but I did not think that it was worth paying three times as much for an iPhone 13 mini.
I still have the 6S and it's still useful. Rarely I see any slow downs other than downloading something. With that, the SE 2020 is still good enough later after it loses Apple support.
@@shanepatrick641 nah, I’m still saving. I’ve heard that’s it’s decent battery life, and will make it through the day if you aren’t playing intense games for an extended period of time
I’m still using mine had it since July last year. It’s definitely an upgrade to some of the phones I used to have. Only one that could be better was a Samsung Galaxy S7 wish I never sold it.
Still rocking my original SE (2016 / 64 GB)!!!! Put a new battery in it last summer at my local Apple Store for $49 and it runs like new again! The SE2 is a GREAT phone.
8:53 Also having an a15 bionic on a iphone 8 body is kind of suicide, it's like a car with a "800 horsepower motor" but the chasis and wheels are broken i exaggerated but battery also going to drop rly fast with that Iphone se 2 rn is like 150 dollars lol
My daily driver is the 13 Pro 1TB in Alpine Green for when I’m out and about and also for work but still kept my XS for home use. The SE is definitely not my kind of phone because of the dated design and I prefer something with better specs.
@@stoffe2055 I have the SE3 in my hand and this is the result: My last charge was to 80%. Screen on: 4h 8m Screen off: 1h 3m Current battery is 54% Usage is 39% RU-vid 15% Safari 6% IG I don’t think the battery is bad at all.
