A lot of people recommending to people to NOT buy this phone. This phone isn't for YOU. Regardless of its outdated design it's still a really solid phone. Also knocking on the screen size...some people just want a smaller phone. We don't want to be holding tablets.
Amen brother. The iPhone SE 3 is thin and light, has a full square screen (with no notch) and fits in your pocket. That’s why brought it. I can’t stand newer iPhones because of how ridiculous big they are. There’s a market for everyone.
I sometimes play games on it. Mostly Dead by daylight and Brawl Stars and it handles it easily, thanks to A15 bionic. Have tried many games and there was no game it couldnt run on max settings
This is what the reason for me to buy this phone, I don't play game, what I do on this phone are checking notifications , checking apppointments, listening to music and taking some photos, it does these tasks perfectly.
Yes sir, I’ve been rocking the SE as my daily driver for like 2-3 years now and it hasn’t let me down. The battery life isn’t the best but a battery bank fixed that issue up.
This is the comment I was looking for. My grandma is in the same boat. Not sure if she’d be able to figure out how to swipe up to go back to home. She’s definitely the target demographic that needs a dedicated home button.
I definitely recommend this phone. Small phone, small screen, lightweight and thin. This is THE best iPhone I've ever had. I'm still rocking the SE 2020.
I once used the 2nd gen SE but upgraded to the iPhone 13 and since then I've been getting better performance, better pictures and videos, and most importantly better battery life. It was worth it to me!
My son (senior in college) ruined his phone (iPhone SE) yesterday …doing fence work in the rain. I told him I’d buy him a new phone…he said he wanted the same phone…money wasn’t an object. He’s very practical and isn’t into gaming, social media etc. I bought the SE with 128GB. Simple is better for some…
@@lewis72we’ve got waterproof (Lifeproof) cases on some of our phones (we have 11 phones), unfortunately they haven’t kept the phones safe in several instances over the years.
Some of the supposed ''issues'' with this phone are dubious. You talk about the OLED screen being better than LCD. On my 75 inch TV at home, i agree. But on my little 5 inch iphone? Paying extra money for OLED on a tiny phone is insane. For most users, camera technology is more than enough on the SE. Almost no one will see a photo from an SE, and wonder if it was taken on a lesser phone. The only real thing i can see as a concern might be the battery life. But for what you save in both size and weight, plus that extra 170 dollars that you act like is nothing, might make the SE a great choice.
The real argument isn’t the iPhone 13. It’s the iPhone 11. For less money (currently going for around $200) you get better cameras, display, and battery life. Yeah sure you’ll be missing 2 years of software updates compared to the SE 3 but it’s a good trade off at the moment
Quality of camera really stunning for its price. Using SE 2022 1.5 years and pretty happy. The main reason I’m using it: compact size, good price, good camera, good performance, premium materials and long support. 429 is too much but used phone could be bought for $200 easily
Do anybody want to accept Jesus christ as your savior he want to give you love and joy and happiness and salvation and eternal life if u confess your sins
I have the SE 2 since 2020 and im very happy except battery life. Had the battery replaced already, though its not an original one so it deteriorated rather quickly again over 1 year 😅 I bring my power bank everywhere now. Still going to use it as long as it gets iOS updates though, which is likely another 2-3 years! Love the little guy.
I had the iPhone 7 and I just got off the iPhone 8 in 2023 and bought a yellow 14. It's funny my friend say that my 14 is too big but with an OtterBox defender case on my iPhone 8 it's exactly the same size as my iPhone 14.
I'm an apple fanboy and every YEAR I only wanted the "top iPhone of the year" But then I realized, as a common person, a student actually, how little I use "pro" feature, I don''t need a 4K PRO RES GIGA MAX ULTRA WIDE CAMERA to film my friends being stupid, I don't need a 47 megapixel front camera, because I'm not going to take photos for a portfolio, but for instagram and memories. And plus, my iPhone 13 Pro is really heavy, is big and I can't use it with just one hand, And I payed a LOT for it. I'm watching this video because I don't need a pro phone and I have to convince myself that the best tech spec phone would maybe not be the best for me, as we always want to buy the best we can. SO when you say "for 170$ more you can buy a 13", you are not getting the point of the SE :) PS: I would chose SE even just for Touch ID.
Hello, I wanted to make a comment in the international arena. I also use this phone. It is a really nice phone. My profession is nursing. It fits easily in my pocket. The risk of falling is really low. It is easy to use with one hand. According to my usage, the charge lasts for 1 day. It is a very charismatic phone. I think its design makes me happy :)
I live in Brazil, and I bought this phone in 2022, the price was 2,800$ BRL (556$ USD). I’m using everyday, and I love it, and the only thing that is bad is the battery life.

SE fan here. The shape and design of this phone causes it to slide off of most surfaces. If you don’t like using a phone casing you will suffer because of that. If it weren’t for that I would be looking forward to four or five years with this phone.
The problem with modern technology behavior is that you can't make such kind of reviews after real time use since when you have the clip, the company already released ten new models. This is the right review, not the one talking about the specs of the new phone right after 1 day of usage. Nice job!
Not everyone has $170 to spend on a more expensive phone. Perhaps they could get a better Android phone for same price of an iPhone SE. I’ve got an SE and the battery sucks but it’s a good phone and does exactly what a phone should do.
Got myself a SE3 last weekend on used maker for $175 in 9/10 condition. Needed a work phone in addition to my personal 15 pro max. Wanted specifically this phone since it's a last phone with a home button. Well keep it as a collector's item. It's a weird phone these days but touch id is still waaay more handy to use for apple pay if you know the right way of using it :)
I just bought this phone- I’ve had a IPhone SE 2016 first gen phone until last week, so I find this phone absolutely huge compared to that lol. I like it, but I love really small phones. I don’t use social media so prefer smaller screens. It’s a great phone so happy I bought it. Was tossing up between this and the iPhone 13 mini, but that only has Face ID, which I’ve never used as my phone was 8 years old, so that was too complicated for me 😂😂😂
@@ahmednabil-r1t great man! I leave home at 6.30am and at 10pm the same night I have about 25% battery left and that’s not charging at all during the day and watching RU-vid ect! Very good phone!
That is my strategy Is to stay back generations as LONG as possible. Plus this being last with home button I hope I can stretch out 3rd gen as long as possible
I’ve had the second gen since 2020 and I love it. I occasionally think about upgrading especially when I travel or go to concerts, but for everyday use it is more than sufficient. Battery doesn’t last fast when I’m browsing or on data, but it’s not super worrying.
In my opinion this model is almost perfect, I love the small size and the home button (which comes with fingerprint id and double/triple click functions) which is absent on newer phones
ive been using it for 1.5yr and honestly it still performs like new .... i love smaller phones previous i had iphone 6s and an android flagship bt after getting se i sold both and dont regret at all .... im also a heavy user ,,, battery life is ok for me as 20w charges it as fast as 40-50 min
I still have an SE2. Yes the battery is bad, but here’s how I combat this. I charge my phone at work. And I carry an external charger. And i religiously keep it in power save mode. Works for me. I’ll upgrade when I have to. The home button is THE BOMB! The SE3 better still be around when I need to upgrade. Or maybe I should just buy it now. Hmmmm?
Also this phone fits in my pocket! No other phone these days does. If it doesn’t fit in my pocket I won’t buy it. Not sure how women get buy with giant phones that don’t fit in your jeans pocket.
I highly recommend this iPhone. A relatively "affordable" iPhone compared to other higher end iPhones, but it lasts a long time so it pays for itself, reliable battery, small enough to use with one hand, doesn't have that bulky feel if you put it in your pocket, classic look and feel. A decent phone for the casual user
Would you recommend this for a 13 old who is a tad accident prone with tech?!! She is starting high school soon so don’t want her going around the school with an expensive phone. Also she is also good at losing things but I am planning on using Find my IPhone
I just switched to Verizon and was offered a new next GEN iPhone or the iPhone SE and of course I chose the iPhone SE third generation and been happy since. ❤ I’m not big on technology either just needed something simple
Personally, I'd still get the SE. I have small hands. I like Touch ID better than Face ID. I like that LCD not only can contribute to better battery life compared to OLED, but also the fact that LCD will not cause image burns like OLED does. If I want a better camera, then I'll get a camera. And for a budget phone that has a flagship processor, and will continue to get iOS upgrades, fine by me. Also, same Apple software experience as the flagship. And the other thing regarding battery life -- turn off 5G if your plan does not have it. But if you decide to upgrade to a 5G plan, then you'd be ready by then, and not have to buy another phone.
I’ve had the iPhone 14 Pro …and I’ve had both the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the iPhone 12. All the while wishing for the compact and lite iPhone SE 3rd generation. I am waiting for mine to arrive in the mail Tuesday. The cameras on the newer phones are great…but I don’t feel like it is worth the bulky feel you get with them.
How long the battery last in a day? I use an outdated android and it can only let me connect to the internet for 1 hour and it's dead. Can this phone last for 2 hours with data On?
Call me crazy but I use this phone primarily for making telephone calls. I also needed it for the dual sim option. All the rest is extra. It fits in one hand, I barely notice it in my pocket and if I wish to play a game I have a desktop PC at home.
I just bought this phone for my mum. She had an iPhone 8 and it’s 62. She is very comfortable with Touch ID and a home button. That is worth more to me than all the new tech in the newer models
Fair and comprehensive review. I love the compactness more than anything. I'm in my seventies and the newer phones are way too large. My big takeaway is that this phone would be satisfactory if they dropped the price. or improved the battery life.
I have an iPhone 15 but I would definitely like to have this device as a spare phone as I enjoy the old school use of the iPhone while also enjoying the small size of the iPhone SE which translates to lighter weight and one handed use which I still prefer to use my phone today.
I like smaller phones, but i dislike that black around the screen arena (top bottom), so i opted out for huawei p40, as its small in size, have decent ram, camera, cpu is somewhat good for gaming, and overall design is compact and nice... Was thinking to get back to iPhone, as last iPhone i used was iphone 3gs decades ago, and i was happy with it back then (compared to androids we had at the same time), now Im not so sure the iPhone is for me, as i dont like having a "brick" in my pocket...
I need a smaller/lighter phone as I have small hands and carpal tunnel/grip issues. I finally took in my iPhone SE 1st gen that only had a total of 16 GB. I kept it as long as I could as it was the smallest one available. I just got this 3rd gen. It's size/weight is comparable to my old phone and is comfortable and easy for me to handle. And it fits in my purse! I think it will last me many years. I wanted to get the 12 or 13 mini but sadly they are discontinued.
I thought about getting this to stop me from spending too much time with my phone. Display is so tiny that it doesn’t tempt you to spend any more time with the phone than you absolutely have to. Therefore the battery life wouldn’t be a problem. The price of that phone however is a problem. It should be a 299€ phone, maybe 350€ max.
As a lifetime android user, the SE3 is my first iphone and I am using it since 2022. All those android phones I had was literally brick sized (6.5 inches+) which never fit into my pocket, so they always occupied one of my hands. I had doubts about its battery life and after 2 years, I still carry a slim 10.000 mah powerbank in my backpack, even though its battery never died on me before I get back home. Besides the battery, because of the bezels, the screen size is so small and it is a problem on reading, typing, checking at photos etc. I wish they could make this phone without bezels but keeping the same size, just like the previous X series. Other than that, A15 processor is such a great hardware that they used for 13 and 14 series, so I had no complaints about its speed and multi tasking. Speaking of multi tasking, touch ID works like a charm but that home button is not as convenient to press twice to get the app drawer every time. I am not thinking about upgrading my phone until they release SE4, hopefully with same size without bezels. TLDR, buy it if you are a light user and all you need is a compact one hand use phone, preferably if you have small hands.
I just ordered a brand new one of these from Amazon in the uk they started at £429 and £479 for the 128gb on apple uk… I got the 128gb for £429 from Amazon because I’m a builder and I’m sick and tired of having a phone in my pocket that is so big I cannot kneel down with it in my pocket so when Im laying floors I have to put it to one side, then I go out to my van and the phone rings and I miss the call and if it’s another job I loose out on that job, so I got one of these now I can work with it in my pocket….as for battery life I just use a battery case it does make it a bit thicker but triples the battery life…..not every one wants a phone that’s the size of a brick
I have the SE ‘20, works great for me. But I’m the low key smartphone user. I like small, compact iPhones and that home button / Touch ID works great. SE works for me but not everyone. I don’t mind the bezels but I am glad apple made these devices for people like myself. I’ll get the SE ‘22 after the ‘20.
I got both I phone SE 2 and SE 3 as long it keep having updates on my device I will keep on using it no matter what I phone there is newer I am on the IOS beta so my phone should have more updates to come.
I had the iPhone 14 and switched over to the iPhone SE 3rd gen and I say I like it more the only thing I don’t like about it is the camera quality isn’t as good of course but I prefer the old design of it and the smaller size even the regular iPhone 14 felt like a tablet in my pocket.
I love my IPhone SE 3rd gen over my work phone which is a Samsung galaxy S23 5g , the iPhone is smaller and easier to put in my pocket and less chance of getting dropped and broken, the Cameras take great pictures for being a single wide angle camera , the front selfie camera takes good enough pics for me, Battery life has been great because I don’t use my phone a lot only for texting and phone calls and for $150 I’m not going to complain.
I have a SE second generation, and I'd like the form factor. I love the button. I don't like the way the OS works in the 13, 14, and 15. I don't like the facial recognition. I love the thumb button. So I've been thinking of upgrading my SE2 to SE3. It's been four years I think so it's probably time. I can get it with 256G of storage, and with the new processor, it seems like it gives me everything I want. I'll post back here later after I get it
I purchased the SE 3rd gen in March 2022 when it first came out. My iPhone 7+ was super slow, and I didn’t have the money for anything more expensive than the SE 3rd gen. I honestly really like it. The photo quality is better than the 7+’s, even if it isn’t as good as some of the more premium iPhones. To this date it’s still way faster than my 7+. The smaller screen size definitely took some getting used to, and while typing my fingers would often hit the wrong keys. Definitely a solid option for those on a budget but still want a functioning iPhone. The only downside is that although it supports Bluetooth 5, 5G, eSIM, nano-SIM, and Wi-Fi 6, it doesn’t support the Bluetooth Low Energy that AirTags use for precision tracking (which the 13 mini does). You can still set up and use AirTags, and all the features work EXCEPT for one, which is the feature where the phone points to where it is with an arrow, and gives an estimate of how far away it is. When looking for one I usually just press the “play sound” button, which makes it beep. However, if you are in Korea where many of the AirTag features already don’t work, having another one that doesn’t work may be annoying.
I don't see OLED as superior display technology. OLED screens suffer from burn-in. An LCD screen will look good-as-new (literally) for the entire life of the phone. I would pay extra for an LCD phone screen vs. OLED. The last thing I want to worry about is my phone screen wearing out. Also, yes, newer iPhones have bigger screens, and they look impressive, but once you subtract out the space taken up by the notch and the home bar, the actual increase in usable space is not what you might expect.
If you have an iPad mini 6, this is the only phone you want. Both are my daily driver. One for text and calls and the rest is for the mini. It’s light in the hand and pocket. I love this combination and I don’t need to waste time with gaming and act like I need ultra camera. So far with any phone, I’ve never had to say sorry because my camera didn’t have a better resolution. So get it if your needs are met with a portable tablet.
May be small to most but to me it’s normal size. Camera is disappointing though knowing there is night mode & such good zoom on more expensive phones. The LCD is implemented better so between that & the size are the 2 reasons I went with the se3. I do game on my phone that said , the battery sucks if you’re coming from an old phone, it should be better. My old one was dead while this had 40%
I think it's a great phone. I don't spend hours playing games and watching videos. The small size reminds me of the way phones started out, as mostly PHONES. I love it, you may not, it all depends on what you do with your phone all day. Thanks for the video.
