Btw, when ppl talk about customizability on android, they're not talking about making things look pretty, they're talking about making the software more convenient and cater to each person's needs, this includes automation, routines, countless widgets for quick access to specific areas within apps, websites etc. Possibilities are literally endless.

I had been an Android user for most of my life… at least until the iPhone 11 came out and I mostly switched out of curiosity. Honestly I think either iOS and Android can work, but like you said it really depends on your own personal needs and wants from your smartphone and accessories. Now I use an iPhone 13 and an iPad 9 and I really like the consistency and long term use options Apple has over the Android devices which don’t really last as long when it comes to app support. But, I won’t pretend that I don’t sometimes miss the more customizable nature of Androids and the freedom that comes with it, but Apple makes up for it with great consistency and quality. Use what makes you happy. Both are great and both have their pros and cons and both will only be as useful as you make it.

Great Video - in my family I have 3 iphones (wife and kids) and one Android (mine). The reason I am still on Android is specifically for the customization components - I have a single screen where I can get /view weekly weather (animated) - music player (with album art - animated) - batter percentage - charging status (animated) - 2 separate wallpaper sections - highly functional quick launch bar / popups all on one screen - I also make use of the Always on Display - but most important - was the Notification Light (blink) that would show me by color - what type of notifications I have - no need to 'wake up ' the phone to know if I have received something or not. To me that was the biggest feature (of a Samsung Galaxy 9 [and before] ) . Again - personal choice!

I'll very likely always be in Google's ecosystem instead of Apple's, unless Apple were for some reason to go cross-platform for their services. It's quite simple, really. I refuse to go with an ecosystem that locks me in totally. I want to feel like I'm free to do what I want. If I want to go to iPhone, I will. If I want to switch back to Android, I will. That's what Google affords me the right to. BECAUSE Apple wants to sell you hardware, they will do anything they can to keep you from using an Android phone with your iPad, or an iPhone with your Android tablet. With Google, you can have an Android Phone and an iPad and still have a reasonably decent time. RU-vid Music, Chrome, Docs/Sheets/Slides, Keep Notes, Google Maps, Google News, Google Photos, Google Drive, Google Play Books, etc. All these are on Android and iOS and are synced between devices. When I had an iPad Pro last year, I refused to use Apple services unless I had to, because I'm not going to let myself get sucked into their locked ecosystem. I really respect how good Apple are at what they do. Amazing hardware, polished software, beautiful products and seamless integration. But their insistence on me sticking with them and only them is what keeps me away.

That's the exact same for me. I love Apple's ecosystem, but if I stick to it for too long, I will be fully locked in, and I don't want that. @@MichaelBTech exactly. He missed the part in which android phones can be integrated with PCs and other android devices as well without having to pay. The very reason why I will always choose android over iOS is because of data sharing with computers. Customisation is important but to be honest I've used the same Nova Launcher layout over several android phones now, so can understand why people like the simplicity of what Apple offer. If either phone were to die I wouldn't have a great issue using either for the tasks I do on the other, both have their strengths and weaknesses. It's why I use both as I feel that they compliment each other. Accessory wise I did go with a Samsung smart watch over the Apple Watch. Samsung's offerings simply look better, though not as feature rich, whereas the Apple Watch looks like a miniature iPod strapped to your wrist. There's a reason that the market for iPod Nano watch straps still exists. Plus I can pair the Gear S3 I have with both Android and Apple phones.

I have been on the fence lately about which OS I want to go with and this helped a great deal. I used to have all Apple products but currently only have an iPad Pro and a Home Pod. As for droid I have an Nvidia Shield, which does everything I need from gaming (the perfect streaming console) to everyday use. It’s time to switch to Android for a phone. My iPad handles all my drawing apps (Nomad, Forger, Procreate) so the phone will do what it needs to do…be a phone. I don’t need the high end ones, just one that gets the job done. I'm switching to Apple because everytime android updates their software other than for security patches, it slows the phone with animations or some crap. Example auto fps holds at 120 now is no longer auto fps. Why do I need 120 on the home screen? I figure apple software with apple hardware probably not gonna have that issue. Android software for all makes and models of phones probably not gonna cover all phones bugs and issues.

Good vid. I have both, the latest Samsung Galaxy phone and and a fairly recent model iPhone (Samsung for personal use and iPhone for work use). The camera on my Android is by far superior, and when it comes to customization Android wins hands down. The biggest issue I find with Android is it doesn't always play well with iPhone (that is, the rest of my family is on iPhone and group messages don't come across or are delayed, images and vids get compressed, etc...) and many of the Playstore apps seem buggy. I can have an issue with an app on Android and pull up the same app (with the same account logged in) on my iPhone and it always works fine. It seems the "world," at least here in the US, is tailored for iPhone first, and then everything else. I just may go to iPhone for personal use the next go-round.

This isn't a one of either. My friends and I have seen it a dozen times, on their phones, in MANY different locations. In fact they are NEVER getting as fast of data speeds as me. And yes some of them have the newest iPhones with 5g. At times when their phones drop calls, I let them use my phone because they have no signal. I just jumped ship from using Android for the last decade to an iPhone 13 Pro. I grew increasingly frustrated with Samsung flagships, and the chief reason around it was how Samsung chooses to support their phones after a year or so. Basically, a new Samsung flagship will eventually get the next year’s version of Android, and then you only get security updates and updates to their UI that just make things run worse. At the 2 year mark you have a phone that should be amazing on paper, but feels like a budget phone. Apple released the iPhone 6s in 2015, and those users just got the latest iOS. The closest reasonable comparison in the Android sphere right now is the Google Pixel 2, which released in 2017, which got Android 11 in 2020. I want a phone that at least is reasonably useful and modern after 3 to 4 years, and I don’t see an Android flagship that I expect to do that right now.

Glasses free 3D phones were sweet. Not really a gimmick. The gaming was dope and creating 3D video was amazing. I still miss that. The only thing I think I agree with in this video actually, is that iPhones are garbage compared to top tier Androids because the phones aren't what they're selling. They're selling it as a part of an entire eco system, which is was they're actually selling. The complaints about privacy is ridiculous. You can turn all the privacy settings on and off the same way you can on Apple. The bias in this review was pretty obvious. Android communicates with everything, Apple doesn't. It's that simple. That makes Androids eco system much broader.

Android is not just about customization, but rather a free world where you can transfer any files easily and connect with all kind of other platforms much easier than all the fuss you can get from iphone security. I must admit though that iphone is usually one step ahead in design and making most of surprisingly pretty average RAM and battery. iPhone is like a businessman, while Android is more like a technician, or in case of Samsung an engineer.

I got a Pixel 4a over the iPhone SE because it has better battery and display. Along with the fact I can easily transfer files to my Windows 10 PC.

Thank you very much for making this helpful video. Keep up the excellent job. A video comparing the Galaxy Z fold 3 to the iPhone 13 pro max would be much appreciated. I'm waiting for the Apple event on the 14th to make a choice; if you made a video, it may help me, especially because I'm stuck in the Apple eco system, but I can't resist the design innovation of the Z fold 3. Thanks Chris

If iPhone had longer battery life and easily changeable storage chips like android they would own the market. Ive thought about switching to Android simply for longer battery life multiple times

All I can tell you is I have been on team Android for over 12 years and within the past year, I purchased my very first iPhone. All I can say is, now that I have Airpod Pro's, Airtags and my Apple Watch 7 and seeing how flawless they all work together along with the rugged simple design of the iPhone, brand recognition and yes privacy I won't ever go back to Android. Keep your widgets, folding phones and whatever else you have. I wish I would have not been so stubborn to hate Apple because it was Apple and simply bought one because it's a damn good phone.

same here ~ being a blind follower of everyone talking about how good android specs are, specs dont matter as much as experience. and the apple experience is smoother, and just feels more reliable and luxury.

Yeah that was a good summation. I chose Apple after years of Android phones and have zero regrets. I love how some of my devices have received updates that brand new Apple devices get and in some cases increase their value...at least to me. I have passed down a Watch Series 3 and original AirPods to my cousins who use them daily.
@mondemamon929
@mondemamon929 2 года назад
A lot of people seem to be fixated on those updates, what seems to be the changes for the last 3-5 years of using the same device? The only thing I can think of is bug fix and new camera processing techniques which isn't really an advantage over android, am I missing something?
@chuck7415
@chuck7415 2 года назад
@@mondemamon929 In the past my Android devices would have one or two awful bugs and I would wait months (depending on your carrier) to get the update to fix it. Not a problem on Apple. I've gotten updates two days in a row before that fixed bugs or patched security. When you have the whole ecosystem you need timely updates across all of your devices for it to really work well, and the Apple ecosystem is really a thing of beauty.
@mondemamon929
@mondemamon929 2 года назад
@@chuck7415(sorry for the late reply btw) hmm, from today's stand point tho, there's barely to none awful bugs from flagship phones today.... I agree tho that apple's ecosystem is good, but most of it can also be done with google sync(although inferior) which isn't really quite worth it if you think about it considering apple's flagship prices
@chuck7415
@chuck7415 2 года назад
@@mondemamon929 I'm sure you're right, that today there are less issues, but that's just how things were back then and I ended up liking Apple devices better anyway. I'm a huge geek and keep my ears open to the Android world, but I don't think that (currently) there is a device combination (ecosystem) that I would prefer to what I have with Apple (not counting my Windows workstation). Yes, many Apple devices are priced on the higher side for flagship models, but I think that's fair considering they make the hardware and the software and have it tuned to the degree which they do. It's not exorbitant, in my opinion.

True that Apple creates a more premium overall experience, intuitively designed ecosystem, attractive UI/UX. But starting with the Samsung S9+ I think the Android community has closing the gap very nicely. Hardware has come so powerful, programming has improved so much; much of the lags, stutters which Android is known for, is now no longer a concern. I'm using the S21, while it's not yet equal to an iPhone. It's getting very very close.

Hi, this was a great video (as usual) and I really liked that you showed a perspective that was quite different than some of the other channels talking about this subject. As a person who uses both a Mac and an iPad, I think it would be best to get an iPhone when the time comes. It’s more convenient in my opinion, as these devices sort of work together to help a user get the most out of the Apple experience. I also have a suggestion for a video: is it better to use Spotify or Apple Music? I listen to music all the time using both apps but I’m not really sure which app I should use. Bye 👋

I switched from the S21 to the 13 Pro Max. Things I miss on my Samsung: - Snooze options for my alarm - Split Screen - S pen - customizing my esthetics - customizing my apps and MS Office - Free apps The list goes on.
