Tech Thusiast but that’s impressing how great the iPhone x is optimized. It has ONLY!! 2700 mAh batterie and still can beat the note 8 with 3300 mAh battery. Just imagine the iPhone would have such a battery as the note or oneplus has. Would beat easily all of them
You can thank Samsung for going with OLED displays, everyone else should follow suite. OLEDs use very little battery on a black screen. Just imagine what it can be when you apply your battery saving mode? And copy what Samsung does by greying and minimizing the use of everything else.
The screen on the note 8 goes up to 1000 nits. I’m sure it draws more battery. I have both phone and sometimes the I get more battery out of the note 8 with same amount of usage plus note 8 charges faster.
Loved this battery drain test as always because of how accurate it is.. Others just put all the phone to max brightness and not similar brightness while performing battery tests.. Keep up the great work! And Oh boy did that iPhone X perform good. It beat the Galaxy note 8 with it's tiny (comparatively) 2700 mAh battery🔋, that is crazy.. Maxime FROSSARD Batteries degrade and the OP5 is about 4-5 months old. Also the X is using a more efficient OLED display in addition to Apples optimizations to iOS. The 5T with a bigger battery and newer display is going to have some great battery life.
Because they don’t use battery size as a marketing spec tool, they design the phone then design a battery to fit it while optimizing as much as they can for efficiency
Samsung is known for putting out bullshit specs for their marketing like the brightness of their screen which turned out to be really misleading (the iPhone X is actually brighter than the note 8)
Also Apple has an advantage over Android phones. Apple makes the hardware and software. Which helps greatly with battery optimization. So the battery sizes aren't comparable. Android phones normally need a bigger battery to last the same or more than iPhones. Also it goes to show, that if apple cared about their users they could easily fit the iPhone with a bigger battery capacity as you see in Android phones. And demolish the battery life segment on phones. Personally I would fill the back of the iPhone with extra battery making it a bit thicker, which would also eliminate the camera bump. But after removing the headphone jack, having that awfull notch and removing touch id. I really don't think apple want their phone to be the most practical. Which is why I stopped using iPhones after the 5s. Really disappointed on the direction Apple took with the iPhone.

This test is skewed, all phones running at different brightness. Since screen takes the most battery. Get a luminance meter and set them all to the same nits.
azian257 no proper way to do it. Not all phones have the same max brightness, so say if we set brightness to 300 nits on all phones, it'll be close to the maximum on some devices and they'll use more power
I'm not even surprised. 😂 OP5 is a beast. The IPhone X did as expected. The great optimisation plus the power saving capabilities of an OLED panel. Also need a new phone.
I have been stuck with an iPhone 5 since it came out and my family really cannot afford to get me a new phone. lets see, X battery is larger than 8plus, screen overall size is smaller than 8plus, OLED is much more efficient than 8plus. the processor are the same. is there anyelse reason wont beat 8plus??
When the iPhone X is running Mario Run you can see that app is truly taking the advantage of that edge to edge display. And look those thick, fat and gigantic bezels on the note 8. 😂

but should it not be a comparable difference, its kind of like companies makes phones that last for a year or 2 and not like cars which are made to last
You channel is amazing! All of your videos are amazing, and very entertaining. I’d love to get an iPhone X because it is the first big change Apple has had in and iPhone. All of the new features are features that I have always dreamed of having in an iPhone, especially because it has a big screen with a small sized iPhone. I’m also very into photography, yet cameras are so expensive. The camera on this iPhone is so good, especially portrait mode. I also watch a lot of videos on my phone, and spend a lot of time on it, so that big screen really helps. Finally, Touch ID has had some flaws with me, especially when my hands are wet, and the Touch ID doesn’t work. The gestures for the phone are also really cool. That is why I really want the iPhone X! Your channel is amazing.?
Not to mention that the Samsung OLED screen in the x is consuming weigh less than the LCD in the iPhone 8. Also there's a lot of software running in the bg on the note8 which also has more ram to feed and higher clock speeds. and I presume Android Oreo might be a game changer with its better background processing. I'd like to see how the pixel 2 xl performs here
I don't really see the point in spending so much for phones like the iPhone X when you can just buy a decent budget phone and maybe even build a full fledged gaming PC with the money you'd save.
