Small hole doesn't fit over camera lens, you have to replace camera lens as well. Big hole fits over camera lens, you only need to replace glass panel.
Microelectronics repair has been my business for over 10 years now and I can say from personal experience this guy nailed it, the camera lens is a little scratched but will still likely fully function. He did a clean job.
Yes it will definitely damage the battery at this heat. There is only a slim metal plate between the battery and the glass. The heat gun is way too hot for the battery. He was just lazy.
I just got my XS MAX back glass replaced today and the person who did that didn't dissemble the handset and just directly removed it and place a glue and fix the new one and tie some rubber bands and asked me to remove them after 3 hours... I tried using it and just found that my phone is heating up a bit.... Can someone guide what's the main issue?
the screen would be your main concern, backglass is not a big deal, just put a case over it. Only cosmetic trust me. Buy a 10 dollar case and you wont even notice. The screen is the bigger deal tho. If the screen is still displaying stuff, and its only the outer glass that broke, you can put a screen protector over it for the time being, but that would be something to fix because unlike the backglass the screen is actually noticeable and will effect how you use it. btw i also broke my backglass your not alone :). Not a big deal much.
