Ipswich Suffolk a tour that shows this great town at its best from the old to the new. A great Town for the Association of Ex-Tablers to visit for the National Conference 2011. Our thanks to Visit Ipswich.
I left Ipswich or rather Martlesham Heath in 1986 I moved their in 1976 and worked at Hollesley Bay. I moved to The Isle of Wight to Parkhurst and ended up as acting Governor V. I loved Ipswich , Constable Country, the parks the people. But it seems to have changed with immigration as a great many places. I was born in 1952 And it breaks my heart to have lost the Britain of my childhood. It was safe to play out and no one worried. I am so Happy not to have missed the old ways. Some for the worse but we were very happy. Love to all of you in Suffolk from the Isle of Wight.
I never saw anything much of Ipswich except Sandyhills Lane ( home of the long defunct Lister Locks ) and the less lugubrious parts coming into and leaving same, but I liked it there, and I miss the regular runs to Listers, virtually daily. Ipswich is a place I always felt comfortable being in and my memories of it are all good.
Hello that's me sat on the left in the video at 3:47 and i would like to get in touch with the uploader to have my face blurred out for privacy reasons thank you
I grew up their went to Westbourne (happy days) followed the Town through the 60s 70s early 80s. Would never go back its a manicured dump, no industry its all gone.
Whilst the UK government were busy pumping millions into the EU coffers every week , towns up and down the country like Ipswich, suffered. Ipswich has lost much of what made it a great town. Poor decisions continue.
I went to Ipswich and I couldn’t spot much of this in this video...I just seemed to drive around getting nowhere...I drove off totally frustrated...maybe if I’d done some research it would have been different..
