Great information about your project. I made a PCB to build your project and everything works great. I have been trying to switch folders without any success. If I read the data sheet correctly you should be able to select a folder using the command code 0x0F along with the folder number. Have you tried this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is a noise problem, common with protoboard, you need use electrolic capacitors at entrace of power supply of dfplayer mini and make a pcb to reduce this problem.
