IDK man, it's hard to tell. At first I thought it was intentional, especially with him slowing down. But then you showed the cockpit view, and I'm on the fence. Totally plausible that he did that by shifting up inappropriately. Your guess is as good as mine lol.
At the time I was convinced it was intentional as well - as most of the lobby. But when recording the video and trying to see how his onboard caught the wreck, made me second guess. Being a low iR split it can be both lol.
From the outside, it looked calculated, but the cockpit view left no doubt that it was oblivious innocence. I've seen it dozens of times, even with experienced drivers, trying to get back up to race pace too quickly. Especially after a heavy spin and hot tyres.
You see how he hung the rpm for a second, backed it down, then clutched kicked the rpm to the next gear hard to twist the car up the track? That’s someone who knows how to clutch kick the tires loose. He may not have known exactly who he was hitting but that dude right there did that intentionally in my opinion. Hands down.
ive seen people intentionally spin the tires so they spin into the field but then they try to play it off like an accident and most would think it was an accident but most people who even make it out of Rookie/D class know what it means to feather the throttle to avoid spinning again, so ill say intentional “accident”
What impresses me the most in these videos it's not the fancy overtakes, but the drivers that know how to handle a crash instead of coming back to the track and wreck the entire field.
Man I miss iRacing sometimes, especially driving those older cars. Those things were a blast. When they first came out we'd try to flip them (unranked races of course). Easily my favorite cars to drive in the sim.
PC specs are more than fine! I recommend to look into Moza and Fanatec for the sim setup. Both have good options in different price ranges. I personally have the Fanatec CSL DD + the V3 Pedals, and they’re great really. Don’t have any experience with Moza, but they came out with a lot of cool stuff.
Im gonna try iracing this week bc just finished my triple screen 80/20 rig setup and really wanted to race oval.. until i saw this LOL. Im used to f1 and ACC only, not too sure what to start with considering ya gotta buy all the shyte separately.
For the rookie license you don’t need to buy anything besides the membership. I did the Street Stocks in rookies. After that I would recommend the ARCA series or the Late Model Stock, to get through the D license. With the ARCA car you also have the Gen 4 car, which you can use in the C license (and is a blast to drive). From C and upwards you can do NASCAR if that’s what you’re after. Have fun!
Theoretically you can start with 1 month and the 40% new member discount, which is $7.80. Best to get as long as possible to maximize value though. Keep in mind that after the rookie licenses, you probably need to buy additional content to proceed. This can add up very quickly, depending what you want to race.
i was in the process of getting iracing until i seen this vid.....i scared...lol great sim tho....i had an account in 2016 but i really couldnt race but lots of hrs latter ill give it another try
It would definitely bring more chaos for the content, but not sure how much the service will benefit of a huge influx of people driving on controller..
You definitely should! I started iRacing with my focus on road, but currently doing about 50/50. Oval racing is a lot of fun and highly recommend trying it out!
That Kodak Number 5 retaliated and intentionally wrecked him, does nobody notice how obvious that is? Those people need instant permabans, I hate scum like that! You never cause a wreck on purpose! That’s insane! It should be treated as a real live event, ban him and impose s monetary fine!
At the end if the day IT'S JUST A VIDEO GAME..lol😂...jeez..the mentality of some of these "adults"😂😂....umm...it's supposed to be fun guys,it's not real,...relax...if you crash just go get a beer, push reset, have at it again.
I actually got demoted back to rookie from c class and suspended for a week a couple years ago. I made someone crash because I got on the brakes a little too early and he reported me. Him hitting me broke me car too, not like I meant for that to happen just wasn’t confident on the amount of tire I had left and hot-lapping wasn’t on my mind with 23min left in the race. This is funny and all I just hate that the community can react so harshly (under b-class lol)
I’ve never heard of getting demoted with a ban?! Didn’t know they did that. I thought iRacing didn’t mess with SR/iR etc after a report in general. If that’s actually all a result for what you described, you should’ve appealed it. Reports usually won’t result in anything if it isn’t 100% obvious it was done with malicious intent. So, if braking slightly earlier was all that happened, it should’ve been quite easy to make your defense.
I was an avid iracer for 15+ years…joined in the spring of 2008…there has been a steady decline in “race craft”…to many kids and idiots have joined…noticed a huge difference once it hit steam. Finally decided to cancel my membership after all these years because of the foolishness.
That’s not completely true though. It might seem in the videos like this, but most the racing is actually pretty clean. Most wrecks are an accident, usually attributed to lack of skill, more than malicious intent. It’s really a lot better than most other racing games in open lobbies.
I actually canceled my iRacing subscription due to how bad the drivers were. More people that want to btch and complain on voice chat while being terrible drivers and ruining races. As I have always said about iRacing and bad drivers ruining your race "It only takes one to ruin the race and there's ALWAYS at least one"
