The physics of driving in iracing is great. The physics of touching is garbage. I wish they would spend some cash on crumple simulation and forces against the drive surface. It’s too easy to tap an imaginary box and send the car ahead into a PIT maneuver. Frustrated drivers then try to hurry back into the race causing more damage. It would be cool if the suspension coils and truss bars etc could break under load or impact, that the body could crumple to the cage before providing stiffer resistance forces…
Agree, if they made the tires more sticky before going over the threshold this would help and this would also make racing on the limit more forgiving/predictable. However, this would kinda kill the soul/character of Iracing and much of it's required 'finesse'.
I have 2 conditions to race 1- I'm in a less populated series, because there will be a community sprit, everyone knowing and trusting each other, and able to properly drive their car 2- I'm at the Nordschleife. There, the only people that won't fall far behind me will have too much iRating to dare being stupid and lose a big bunch of it after crashing.
