History of Tehran Grand Bazaar
The construction date of Tehran bazaar goes back to the Qajar era, although there is a difference of opinion about the time of its construction. Some consider Naser al-Din Shah to be the founder of Tehran Bazaar, and some attribute its establishment to Shah Tahmasab Safavi. It seems that the bazaar was an open market during the Safavid era, and then it was covered with a roof during the time of Naseruddin Shah. Where is Tehran Grand Bazaar? Tehran Grand Bazaar, one of the largest markets in Iran, is located in the capital and in district 12. The size of this market reaches more than one square kilometer. The north and south of the market are bounded by Panzdeh Khordad Street and Molvi Street, and it is surrounded by Mustafa Khomeini Street and Khayyam Street in the east and west.
