Iraq is one of the most climate-vulnerable places on Earth.
This summer, Sheikh Kezem Al-Kaabi fights to continue farming his ancestral land despite extreme heat and worsening water shortages.
In Baghdad, traffic cop Sa’ad Saddam Abdulhasan is responsible for one of the city’s busiest intersections. He keeps the city moving, but that means working in 50C heat.
BBC Life at 50C investigates how extreme heat is affecting lives across the world.

I farm in Canada. I grow vegetables and sweet corn. My family has farmed here for 90 years. For the first time I picked sweet corn in November. In our family history of 90 years this has never happened before. This means climate change is real. God help us. God bless praying for these farmers. Amen

Embellished to say the least. Embellished to push the climate change agenda. Highest ever recorded temperature in bassra is 53.8, less in Baghdad where the police officer claims it was 60 degrees. The planet has got hotter and cooled down for hundreds of thousands of years and when you look at history in 500 year sections it’s quite normal. The water level used to raise up to the banks, shows a banking at one side of the river, then pans to the other where it clearly was never possible to be so high. I’m off back to pornhub, enough bs for today

CO2 at 0.04% is a 2,500th part of the atmosphere. That means to warm the climate by just 1"C carbon dioxide molecules must capture 2,500"C of heat energy. That is impossible. It also breaks the fundamental laws of thermodynamics. Methane at 0.00017% is a 600,000th of the atmosphere so it's even more impossible. However, the climate is changing. This is because of deliberate geoengineering programmes, in particular ozone thinning away from the poles. Though largely unreported ozone thinning effect is directly observable, in clear skies producing an unnaturally bright sun. Under these conditions the pain felt when looking at the sun is not only from the increase in visible light but the much larger increase in infrared. (Look up at the sky and you will see a range of geoengineering operations in progress, these include chemtrail induced cloud or hazing, ripple patterns caused by HAARP installations, bizarre and unnatural cloud formations). Climate change is a programme to force change in accordance with the implementation of Agenda 21 /2030. Current events demonstrate this transition is well underway and will involve massive population cull through injected nanotech (re transhumanist programme). Agenda 21 also sees the permanent loss of all property rights with the introduction of universal basic income (ref NESARA/GESARA) and has/is being promoted by The World Economic Forum. 'You will own nothing and you will be happy' WEF In a depopulated world the surviving brainwashed and controlled population will be confined to mega cities. Carbon limits will be used to restrict consumption and liberty. Meanwhile the re-greened wilderness will be the exclusive playground of the ultra rich elite posing as conservationists. The CO2 hoax amounts to the theft of the world and the enslavement of humanity by a parasitic few. Welcome to the future! _________ I have included a debunking of 'accumulated heat' as it is so often used to explain how trace elements, so called 'greenhouse gasses', can warm the planet. Accumulated heat whilst sounding a reasonable explanation of how heat can build up is rather nothing more than gobbledygook. In fact it shows those using such arguments do not even understand what heat is. When we measure temperature we are measuring the heat energy a thing is losing. In short heat is a measurement of flow, the transfer of heat energy and this will always be in the direction towards the colder. For this reason a thing can never 'accumulate heat' in the way those advocating CO2 climate change describe. The temperature of a body is the measure of heat output, it can never be greater than the measure of heat input. Output = input. When a thing is warmed it is heated to an equivalent of the heat input. If this input is not maintained it will cool. Those that propose that heat can build up to be hotter than the total measure of heat input at a given time either do not understand what heat is or are being deliberately misleading. To illustrate, an object being heated by a flame can never become hotter than that flame, it's temperature cannot rise inexorably to the temperature of the sun for instance. Heat cannot be accumulated. When we think about it common sense tells us this must be the case. NASA and even Nobel Prize winning physicists have expounded 'accumulated heat' as the explanation how CO2 is able to warm the atmosphere. They claim that over hundreds of years CO2 has captured heat energy and this heat has 'accumulated' to produce a serious warming effect. As I have just explained, this is totally impossible and fundamentally violates all the laws of thermodynamics. That respected scientists should support such uneducated, unthinking nonsense is disturbing and only reflects that in terms of being able to think clearly about a subject they have no facility or inclination. These are the Dark Ages of science. Belief has outweighed logic or any critical thought. It tells us that we should not unquestioningly accept anything we are told, that experts can be fools. (NB: be aware of attempts to discard thermodynamics by talking about biology. Eg. 'It only takes a drop of arsenic to kill a person.' This would be somewhat desperate, muddled thinking. Clearly biological processes based on the reaction of a cell are not the same as the laws of physics/thermodynamics).

It is a well established fact that the chain of events from most of Syrias farmlands and cattle being destroyed, to the cities becoming overpopulated with poor farmers, to ISIS finding a good foothold, is a reason for the Kalifate being created, with numerous fatalities resulting from the fighting that ensued. Climate change is causing real, day to day trouble for a lot of people. It should be taken seriously, and not pushed over to some alternate path that tries to indicate that he problem is elsewhere at every turn. That rain is not falling is a real issue for the millions that depend on it.

Iraq and the Iraqi people deserve much better than they have. Instead, countries like mine only see what countries like Iraq can offer in terms of a quantifiable resource. And that same resource is leading to the downfall of not just our species and civilization, but the global climate itself. Peace… The major reason for the problem with water in Iraq and the Tigris river flow slowing down has to do with the Turkish Government and the dam; another reason is the infrastructure in Syria that the waterways lose much of the water before it gets to Iraq… A massive hydroelectric plant and impoundment dam located in Turkey's Southeastern region. The waters that will soon back up behind the Ilisu Dam and will transform nearly 90 miles of the Tigris and another 150 miles of its tributaries into a vast reservoir that will submerge nearly 200 villages and displace an estimated 80,000 people. One of the biggest of the project’s 22 dams and 19 power plants. Most of the other hydropower projects have already been built on Turkish rivers, including up and down the storied Euphrates River, which flows roughly parallel to the Tigris before joining it north of Basra, Iraq to form the Shatt Al-Arab River. Turkey, Syria and Iraq depend on the Tigris-Euphrates river system for their food and water security. The headwaters of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers are located in Turkey and join in southern Iraq to form the Shatt al-Arab River before flowing into the Persian Gulf. The Euphrates begins in the eastern Turkish highlands and flows into Syria where it is joined by two other tributaries that also originate in Turkey. About 90 per cent of the water flowing in the Euphrates comes from Turkey, most of the remaining ten per cent originates in Syria and a very limited amount is added in Iraq. Turkey reportedly utilises about 41 per cent of the water resources in its territory, allowing the rest to flow downstream to Syria, which loses 60 percent of its water resources to leaky infrastructure. By the time the rivers reach Iraq a large portion of the water has been consumed. The two lower riparians claim that Turkey uses too much of the region’s water, however, their management of water resources is hardly exemplary. People get hooked because nicotine is addictive. Our governments allow it to be sold, knowing it harms us. A sane species would not allow it's sale. If individuals planted tobacco for their own consumption, on their property, okay, but we must stop the sale of it. It is responsible for an unknown number of deaths annually. The country must invest heavily in desalination, water recycling, solar farms and other renewable energy projects, and growing drought tolerant crops. There is no single solution to managing and adapting to the climate crisis. Solar panels could save farmers by providing shade to their livestock and allow for growing many crops while leasing their fields to solar energy companies, profit sharing in lieu of a lease, or selling the solar generated electricity to the grid. The third option would require massive investment by the farmer, which in most cases is not a viable option. With abandoned farmland so inexpensive, renewable energy companies could simply buy land rather than leasing or profit sharing. To ensure farmer survival, the state must find a way of saving farmers by preventing abandoned farmland from being sold off and turned into solar farms. Once investments in desalination and water recycling begin to deliver water for irrigation its vital there is farmland available to begin growing crops and raising livestock again. Often times we look for the simplest and/or least costly method or option in order to meet demand. Doing so does not take into account future needs. Meaning if all of the farmland is sold off for other uses, it won't be available in the future. This pandemic has shown us, once again, the importance of having the capacity to meet basic needs within our own borders. Raising livestock and growing staple crops in vital for a nation to survive when faced with import supply disruptions. Iraq has suffered a lot. Let's not forget that suffering by taking measures to meet today's demand without thinking ahead. If ever war is brought to Iraq or imports cease, the nation must be able to feeds its citizens. The time to act was in 1990. If action is not taken now, much of the country will be swallowed by the desert. The retreating masses will flood into the already crowded cities. Or, worse yet, flee the country. Desalination and water recycling provides the opportunity to build man-made lakes and reservoirs. These lakes and reservoirs will naturally cool the surrounding area. This is amplified with new vegetation and trees this water will nurture. Desertification can be reversed. Once barron land becomes an oasis for all to enjoy. Small man-made lakes would provide the state with revenue to invest in further water projects by selling the reclaimed desert turned into beautiful lake front land for the development of environmentally responsible estates. All of these projects will require massive investment. Investment the state cannot afford and must seek foreign investment to fund. The plan is not to build another Dubai..... the plan is simply to reverse the affects of the climate crisis for the beautiful Iraqi people. The country is growing rapidly. The growth rate of the population is far exceeding the states ability to provide basic needs of domestically grown food, water, sewage, and electricity. Cheers!

Peace... Educational articles on this topic are blocked by RU-vid's algorithmic process... *Link and Title blocked by RU-vid* September 22, 2016 "Turkey, Syria and Iraq depend on the Tigris-Euphrates river system for their food and water security. Turkey reportedly utilises about 41 per cent of the water resources in its territory, allowing the rest to flow downstream to Syria, which loses 60 per cent of its water resources to leaky infrastructure. By the time the rivers reach Iraq a large portion of the water has been consumed. The two lower riparians claim that Turkey uses too much of the region’s water, however, their management of water resources is hardly exemplary." I never wish bad things to happen to anyone worldwide. But I do longer trust the media in almost anything. I respect life of all people the resources of our struggle on earth cannot be solved quickly or easily. I wish everyone the best. If I had the opportunity to help the world believe me that I would. Everyone has their own struggles to survive and I will leave it at that. If I could save the world which I still hope that I can I would. And that is all that I have to say from my heart ❤

My heart is with Iraqi people, I really hope that the desalination systems will be fully; operational. In the UAE water is available everywhere thanks to that. They can also afford some cloud seeding techniques to create rain clouds through condensation. With the current events in Iraq we just wish for a better governance and unity to reorganise the country.

I was in Iraq from 2008 to 2011, I rembemer these 55-60 C temperatures in July/August. Normally I went to gym at 8:00pm, when I was coming back from the gym at 9:30pm the temperature was still about 40+C which is unbelievable.

If you love the land and its people? Go into the hills set a circle of stones stand in the centre to request a prayer for the long rain for the land to be rebirthed in the name of Allah-Elohim and rains will come. I am a weather Shaman, this will come to pass..

The best time to be awake during summer is early morning, 12AM-7AM. Those are the coldest times you will get in the Arab heat of Iraq.
