I just bought a bunch of these including playsets for my toddler and he LOVES them! They were fun when I was a kid, they are a total blast even today. I think what is so captivating is the amount of playability and detail that went into the original release. I'm disappointed with the recent Micro Machines Star Wars stuff because the play features are so limited. Back then, they had the right idea. Thanks for the review!
Ahh man! Seeing that Bills Fish and chips sign just brought happy memories flooding back! Loved micro machines growing up, forgot how many travel city sets I had until I saw this vid!
the category Micro-Machines never mentioned is Trains (designed to connect one travel city with another travel city until you have one really sophisticated network)
I loved these as a kid, I had that massive truck which would open up into a full blown city, and I remember spending hours with it....until I eventually gave it away as I got older....biggest mistake...I miss it
I remember Micromachines from when I was a kid. I'm a child of the 90's and tend to be more of a milenial. They weren't increadibly popular from my time, but I sure enjoyed them. I had a city thing that wasn't quite like that but it was still fun. I also had a carying case parking garage. So cool.
He should do these videos more often, since he really seems to enjoy making them. I actually found it entertaining, and I'm not normally a big fan of his stuff.
I'm 15 and I work in a toy store part time, we actually still have a couple of these in the original packaging. Now that I've seen this video, I'm gonna bring them home for myself xD
I used to play one of the MicroMachines games as a kid. I still have it around somewhere. It was always a fun game. Never really got that there were Micro Machine collectables.... But hey, fun.
I had about 13 of those pocket sets along with the super city tool box, the large car wash, carrying case for my cars and several other Micro Machine toys. I gave them to my son when he was 6 and he lost them all. Damn I wish I kept them. After watching this video I want to play with them. lol I do still have my deluxe Ferrari and my bat mobile.. I think I have 1 or 2 of the ones that light up.
This was a very good review. It had humor, story and nostalgia value, and it's fun to see your enthusiasm in it. I was not a huge MicroMachine fan but I thought they were cool back in the early 90s.
Oh my god! Micro Machines?! I loved the toys so much! I wouldnt play with anything else short of Micromachines! They were perfect in size, and offered a variety more exclusive amount of space for you to fool around with compared to the bigger cars and such! As a matter of fact I still got bags of micro machines left from my childhood that ranges from space fighters and tanks, to modernized planes and even WW2 fighters. They cant make good toys like that anymore!
I used to have some of them when I was a kid, but I wasn't into them as much until I got the Star Trek and Star Wars collection boxes. I still have some of them, but quite a few are broken lol.
I had some of those licensed ones from the 90's. Namely, the Power Ranger ones. I had the Red Ranger set, and still have one of the pieces (the regular, unmorphed Jason) today. The regular releases were a bit before my time, but that GTO, Porsche 356 and Mercedes 500SL you got there are pretty cool.
i hope they come back i grew up playing with the micro machines (military ones) and am glad that i can let my little brother play with the ones that still remain. still would love them to make a come back
Theser bad ass not just because they were small, but they were very detailed and small. My favorites were the red '57 chevy, the white lamborghini countach, and the silver string ray.
I think I may have had only one of the Travel City pieces. But if you weren't able to acquire all the City pieces, Super Van City was a gold mine. There were a few different foldout vehicles, but that was the one I had.
Say Chris, did you ever get that foldaway city that when folded up it looked like a van or a military car? I have the military one myself, and it's pretty cool.
wow, i have like a little truck and another car, and i just thought they were some off brand mini cars. this is awesome that there was a whole other side of the few cars i had.
