Let me be the first one to comment here : Guys your vlogs are amazing. Please keep it up and keep making such lovely videos. Trust me you have no idea how many people you are healing through these awesome journeys. God Bless You Both.
Thanks you so much for your heartfelt comment! 😊 The idea that our video's could help someone is a beautiful though indeed and all the more reason to spur us on 🙏
Omg lads as an Irish man you guys are showing off us so well , the footage has been absolutely incredible, well done looks like your having a ball , Thanks for sharing your amazing travels, Stay safe Tony
Hey Tony! Thanks very much!!! Always great to hear from a local if we are doing Ireland a good service 😊 This entire trip has been so much fun! The ride, the scenery and the people have all been brilliant!
Thanks for allowing me to see my own country as never before. Your drone footage is magnificent and I love the sensation of travelling with you by bike on the open road through the natural landscape of Ireland.
Hi Frank! Thanks very much for your comment, it's really nice to hear that you enjoyed the video and it0s great that we can share what it's like to tour Ireland by motorcycle and put you in the riders seat. Thanks for watching and we appreciate your comments 😎👍
Great presentation of a most scenic and beautiful part of our Island..You compliment each other so well..Great to hear your commentary..Thanks guys and safe travels always
I've often told people you won't beat Ireland on a nice sunny day. You're doubly blessed this day as that area around Benbulben is sometimes known as the monsoon valley.
You are right! we have had lots of sunny days here in Ireland and as you say it takes some beating 😊 Oh is it really! Then i don't think we realised exactly how fortunate with the weather we have been 😁 Thanks for watching and we appreciate the comment
“Slieve” is an anglicisation of “Sliabh”. Which just means mountain. Sliabh Liag means “Mountain of the Stone Pillars”. The castle is one of the Napoleonic era watchtowers that were built to relay telegraph signals (visual telegraph) around the coast to Dublin. The system was only manned for a couple of years because the French Navy couldn’t stage a landing in Ireland after the Battle of Trafalgar and the threat (depending on who you’re asking, many would’ve welcomed them) was gone. There had been a rebellion in 1798 and the French had landed at Killala (the town with the round tower from the last episode).
The south side of Benbulben is Glencar Valley. It’s a steep sided valley with lots of trees and a lake at the bottom. There’s two fantastic waterfalls there. Also, a little further inland from where you viewed Benbulben is the Gleniff Horseshoe. A very cool valley. Like something from “Lord of the Rings”. Glad you finally got some proper summer weather at last. It has been abysmal.
Hi great to hear you enjoyed it. This episodes is part of a full series if you would like to see some more of the trip 😊 ru-vid.com/group/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=V4ihwEI9q6rwTa5t
I'm awestruck by that scenery. Simply magnificent. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to produce this episode and share it with everyone 🙂
Excellent video guys...lovely filming and narrative. Glad you got some sunny weather to see the cliffs. Donegal is on my ' must explore ' list, but all of Ireland 🇮🇪 is a fab place to ride and explore. Looking forward to seeing more, just subscribed! Cheers Steve
Hi Stephen, that’s very much and we appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment 😎🙌🏻. The weather in Ireland has been amazing, as you might have seen in the previous episodes it has been amazing 😊. Welcome to the channel Steve and hope to catch you again. Sean & Emily 👍🏻
Bundoran is the start of Donegal , that’s my town . There is a plaque on a place called rogey where a Canadian plane crashed in WW2. Also there is a wishing chair overlooking the Atlantic. Bundoran is famous for its surfing and if you turn in by the KFC and ride up the Tullan Strand rd there are 2 cafes one is the tin can cafe where you will get some lovely food . Or you can grab a bite to eat at the salty fox highly recommend. Also sligo is home to Spike Milligan father in Holborn street again there is a plaque outside his house . Glad your enjoying Ireland 🇮🇪
Hi Danny, thanks for all the extra information. Had no idea there had been a crashed plane there. We really are enjoying Ireland! Everyday has been fantastic 😎🙌🏻
Thanks Pauline! We hope you have enjoyed the series up to now and we appreciate you taking the time to leave an encouraging comment 😊 Ireland indeed is beautiful and it's impossible to say which was our favourite part. Thanks for watching 😊👍
Hi Kate, thanks very much! Really happy to hear you enjoyed the video and we hope you enjoy the rest of the journey ....many kilometres left to go on this tour 😊👍
Your trip to Ireland throws me back to 2010-2012 when I lived on the Emerald Island and back to August 2016 when I traveled with my daughter around the island. But we walked all the way up in Slieve League...
You covered a lot of ground today Sean and Emily and gave us terrific drone footage at Ben Bulben and The Sliabh Liag Cliffs. I didn’t walk to the top on my 2018 visit and was glad as the weather was just as warm then. Looking forward to your next episode. Thanks.
Yeah this was a big day and it still wasn't over 🤣 was about 331km this day. Yeah probably better to walk to the top on a cooler day 😊 Next episode is out now!
Haha i think we uttered those words on a daily bases 😂 It really is stunning, we have been so impressed with Ireland. Thanks for your comment and we have just dropped the next episode 😎👍
We were lucky enough to have the same weather for the ride up Slieve League and you are right that it feels special to ride up when everyone else is hiking up. Best 5eur you will spend in Ireland. Another great episode 👍🏻
Glad you had the weather too! it feels like you've been granted some special permission riding up there lol -agreed, best 5 euro spent of the trip! Thanks 😎
You are doing Donegal a great justice with the great drone shots( the weather helped A LOT ) Am sorry you missed Gweedore. I grew up there and it is safe to safe say I have seen some the the most amazing sunsets there from what I have seen of the world, travel courtesy of the US Navy
Thanks very much! We tried to see as much as we could with the time that we had, evening rides have been a great help and given some amazing sunset rides. Sounds like you had a great time seeing the world 😎👍🏻
Fantastic vlogs these. The little castle on slieve league is a lookout they set a fire if they saw the French coming! Did the boat trip to the cliffs and stayed at the rusty mackerel. Your drone footage is epic
Thanks ever so much! Great to hear you enjoy the Vlogs 😊 That's an interesting fact -thanks for sharing. Boat trip sounds amazing and the rusty mackerel must have been a great place to stay. Thanks again 😎👍
I proposed to my wife on the top of Benbulbin, lovely clear August day too with great views of the sea , she's an *extremely* lucky lady, even if I do say so myself.
Wow…..fantastic episode. The views are amazing and your drone footage shows them to their absolute best. Well done and thanks for sharing. Keep safe. Irvine & Karen.
3:52 If you stopped at this exact point, and put your bike in neutral, it would roll up backwards on what appears to be a downhill section of the road. Known locally 'the magic road', the topography creates an optical illusion. Great video.
Thanks very much! It's often the way when you live somewhere that you forget how special that place is. happy to share some of our highlights of Ireland, it's been a fantastic trip with lots of breath taking landscapes. Here's the full trip so far: ru-vid.com/group/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=9xUWMSY35cru-qUb
Great video. We went to slieve league in July on our bike. Got up to the view point too. Was roasting hot . The climb at the starts a steep one. Especially two up on a k1600 gt bmw. Lol
Hi, glad you got to ride up to the top too -it really is steep isn't it 😆. We had a go of one the K1600's last year (there are a few videos of it on the channel somewhere). A great bike and man does it shift! Looked down at the speedo thinking we were cruising at a reasonable speed lol -very smooth at high speeds.
Ahhhh, Sligo is my home town 🙂Relocated to SE England in 1987 but still go back several times a year to see family. If you want to get close to Benbulbin, aim for the Gleniff Horseshoe which is a nice ride in itself. Nice drone footage though 🙂
Sligo's a bit of a kip, unfortunately, since they put the dual carriageway through it. Like a lot of Irish towns, it's now a car suir. People are nice though.
We can only reiterate what others are saying about your videos amazing drone footage and content. Thank you so much. We are away in Europe soon but will catch up when we can with the rest of this amazing trip. It must be very warm Emily has ditched her merano clothes lol😂 Stay safe .
Just amazing scenery 😮 I would never had guessed this was Ireland 🇮🇪 BUT hard to decide if the scenery or Emilys public service announcment was the most shocking of this episode 😂😂
Thanks very much! There's another couple of episodes before we leave but yeah we had a great time and are already looking forwards to returning. Thanks very much for watching
Another great video, highly entertaining as always, I was great to see Ireland in the sun, it really transforms the landscape, at least you had a couple of days with sun and a little heat. The west coast, just keeps giving! loved it! Brilliant footage as always, your audio is fantastic, how do you get it sooooooo good? I'm only testing mine at the moment and it is rubbish. Looking forward to N Ireland, as I have probably ridden all of the roads, you will be on. Also looking forward to Scotland as it is spectacular.
Hi Tim, yeah one of the best weather days so far I think although can't complain about the other days either! Looking forwards to sharing the rest of the trip! Sound is not easy with lot's of variable factors.
hello you two😊 I have not commented earlier on this trip, as I am completely speechless. Didn't realize nature in Ireland had colors. Thought it was all grey. Again l have to comment the photography, it's really good👍😊 Thank you for letting me join you🤩
Benbulben is amazing, so moody, absolutely love that part of Ireland. Sad that a tourist bus full of Chinese tourists stopped me seeing the cliffs of Slieve League, it broke down on a sharp bend and the Garde sent me back😢
Oh no that's unfortunate! Hope you get back there again sometime 😊 Yeah we really loved this ride too, there's nothing better than a near empty road at the end of the day
Didn't think they allowed any vehicles up there any more. You might want to take it easier than this pair if you do manage to drive/ride up, lot of walkers on that road. I cycled up it a few weeks ago.
Think they only allow motorcycles and cars for those who are less abled. Although I'm guessing in busy times they allow even less vehicle up there. Always good to have a bit of momentum when riding a motorcycle up steep hills.
@@roadwarrior8560 at minute 3:50 the fairytale story is that fairy’s take your car/bike and pull it up hill. The real story is to do with the earths core and pull 😂
Hi Gerry, that's nice that you can think of him when you see them and that his work will be stamped in the ground forever 😊 A Helicopter is a little out of our budget but the little drone we have does a great job 😎👍
@SeanandEmily My Dad went into Moville and was greeted by General Montgomery's mother. She is buried in Moville. I am not certain my father did that one, but he was in Donegal.
Slieve League, just down the road from me. You mentioned about cheapskates not paying a fiver to go up the road, well a few years ago you didn't pay anything and there was nobody at the bottom of that road. Only an ice cream van at the top. Over tourism all over the world at the moment. I done the W.A.W a few years ago now by motorcycle and everyone was paying to go to the cliffs of Moher, just park in Doolin and walk the coastal path for free. Over tourism again.
Yes unfortunately mass tourism is ruining certain places, we have been to some places on our travels where a cruise ship has turned up and swarms of people get off the boat. But at the same time it's understandable and if it can help the local economy then it's not all bad. The Wild Atlantic way has been very enjoyable with lots of lesser known or accessible places that are perfect for motorcycle travel, as impressive as the cliffs of Moher are there were other more impressive quieter sights along the way.
Wow wow wow, Sean & Ems you really have pulled this one out of the bag😅 I'm definitely getting my bike route through here.. I'm glad the weather has been so kind. 😎🌞🏍💨⛰️🇮🇪
Hey Stevie! Great to hear to liked it! Routes are in the comments if you need them, it's definitely a must see location! The weather on this trip has been amazing, couldn't ask for any better.
@SeanandEmily They are both American actors; she is most famous for her role in the Sex in the City series. Randomly, we once shared a ride with them and their children in a theme park in Barcelona. Seemed to be an ordinary family. Small world I guess.
“Rising almost 2000 ft / 598 m from the Atlantic Ocean, Slieve League is known as one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe.” www.slieveleague.com/the-cliffs
I would rather hear the natural sounds than music…even silence would be better. Maybe I am in a tiny minority, but even my 35 year old son hates all this RU-vid fill in music.
Haha well you do realise that if a drone was to record audio all you would hear is the rotors wizzing about 😉 All music selected for these episodes is from independent artists and is not RU-vid music. But hey if you and your son prefer to sit in silence then there’s a little button on your remote control called mute 😉
