This is exactly what the WXV is about. Incredible result for Ireland, they've been on the verge of being a special team for quite some time now, and here they pulled off an incredible result. Wish I'd have put a a wager on, the odds must've been amazing.
I'm only a part-time rugby watcher, and this was the first time I've paid attention to women's rugby. I really enjoyed this - plenty of quality and a great game. Congratulations to Ireland.
Great game ! Well done Ireland that's a fantastic win !!! From not qualifying for last world cup ,and poor 2023 six nations, this year huge improvement. Crazy they have only played eachother 3 times . So important teams get to play eachother in wxv and autumn tests, not just the six nations and rugby championships before world cups .
Great result.Really well played Ireland. For women's rugby we need to see more teams to be competitive against NZ,England and France.Fantastic for the sport.
@@leightonsaxby4865 Canada were great against France but to be Fair, Canada have been at the top of the rankings for a while. Coming into this comp rank 2nd, whereas Ireland have barely been in the top 10 for a while now. Slowly working their way up. I think people are mixing up the 15's with the sevens.
Congrats Ireland from Scotland! Love how both of our nations are progressing under the new Celtic league system. Hopefully this is just the start of more to come!
Frickin amazing. Well done ladies. Compared to the snorefest closing round of TRC this was by far the most satisfying game of the weekend. Aoife Wafer, brilliant stuff.
As a nzder I congratulate the Irish !!!😂 ! Blackferns??? 😢 Outcoached again !! to the point where players are making dumb decisions ! Totally predictable ; even kicking the ball is a fiasco !???!!
@@roberthall7117 Boo hoo, remember WXV2023 New Zealand England, Ellie Killdunne, 2 tries disallowed. Cry me a river, Laws are the laws and if you infringe them, you get penalized.
Fantastic effort from the Irish team. They really look well drilled. In Wafer they really have uncovered a top class performer .She will only go on to get better and better which is a scary thought. Frustrating day out for the Kiwis. They left about 20 points on the field. Terribly ill disciplined and clearly took the Irish team for granted. They persisted with shifting wide and just got caught time and time again behind the game line. They needed to be far more direct in their carries and focus on executing the simple elements.. They certainly lack the midfield incision of Stacey Waaka and Theresa Setifano nee Fitzpatrick who were sensational in the RWC final but now are playing league and sevens .The teams has gone backwards since the last world cup and on this current form will be lucky to make the semifinals of the next RWC. If it was the All blacks coach Bunting would be under serious pressure for his job right now.
I recently read an article by a (supposed) expert who believes the 6 nations should be 2 tier because England have been dominant for a couple of seasons. This type of result proves that knee jerk reactions are silly and I'll advised. Let the girls play and the beauty of results like this will be all the more important. Well done Ireland.
Blackferns dont get their shit together fast they will get hammered by Canada and France. Canada looks strong as hell. Well done to Ireland for winning this you deserved it and great to see your improvements...
If Ireland play like this at the six nations next year then they might give England a run for their money. This is the second loss for New Zealand in the last couple of months after the loss to England.
They started falling off around 2020 - 2021. The only reason they had the resurgence during the 2022 World Cup is because Wayne Smith and Graham Henry took over as coaches. Under them the Black Ferns went undefeated.
@@MarkWhippyI think it's a little more complicated in that Wayne Smith was always going to be a one year coach. He instituted a short term vision and a style of play specifically designed to win the world cup. Now the longer term problems of being behind the 8 ball of professionalism fall at the feet of the current coaching group. That being said, I don't think they're doing a great job so far.
TMO best player in the game, he was into everything! Complacent NZ. Ireland wanted it more and deserved it more, well done. Black Ferns coaching group need to either be sacked or be given an ultimatum from NZR. Under Alan Bunting the Black Fern's have won 8 and lost 5. .....I don't see a game plan, or any kind of kicking strategy. Well done Ireland for playing smart rugby.
Whenever any team from the SH loose? Always either the ref or other official? Never that they weren’t good enough. So boring and puerile. Get over it. You lost!
@@countycricklewood Stop being a whiney git. Two things can be right at the same time. Comment clearly stated Ireland deserved to win, which they did. However, TMO also enjoyed being heavily involved.
3:10 not sure about that decision there - NZ #7 and Ireland #3 are both on their feet over the ball (therefore a ruck is formed) before 7 is pulled down by 3 - Ireland #2 should then have to get back onside and doesn't
The Irish player lost possession of the ball in the tackle...totally ignored by the TMO, called a knock-on by Black that clearly went backwards, cancelling a try, cancelled another for the Black blockers off-side in the line-out but ignore the Irish doing the exact same thing.....diabolical Officiating.....there seems to be a pattern occurring....anything to do with All Black Rugby.....scrutinise the heck out of them....Rugby Union is getting really tough at the top table these days, choice, bring it on. More please.
@@Tirotirowhetu Yes, finally- others are starting to see it . We are over scrutinized because in their souls they know the truth. Little country at the bottom of the world with only five million people - is better than the rest.
Just dumb rugby from NZ. Its not Touch. You play for position in THEIR half, then pile on the pressure. Run it when you're in their half. Don't set your backline so the wingers are still stranding on the 22 when you're in their half. Sheesh. Forwards - Pick and go 2-3 times in quick succession - drag in their forwards and seagulls - and then spin it wide. Get your set pieces right. Basics. And when you're leading with ten minutes to go, you don't kick it away to the opposition. You make sure it goes out as far over halfway as possible, then put the pressure on. Even better, you hold on to the bloody thing and maul it forward. Arggh. You are better than this Black Ferns. But dumb rugby will cost you 2 out of 3 games - every time.
*Until the effing BF Coaches strip themselves from being charmed off their feet with the No.9 that is holding back the aggressive BF offense at the front and back lines, the Black Ferns would never be the same again!!! Get Hohaia to be the main half back, you knuckle heads!!!*
As a kiwi… stop building up these teams . Black ferns , white ferns, football ferns etc. for the investment of the public, media and taxpayer. Do better!
Lol, as the saying goes... It's not tiddlywinks. This game certainly highlights the calibre of both teams which we should be supportive of... and leave the criticism for the training field. Good on you Ireland, until we meet again.
I don't think they underestimated Ireland. I haven't seen any improvement from the Bf's since the final of the last world cup against top sides like England, Canada, France and now Ireland. There's no obvious game plan. They just shuffled the ball around from side to side without any go forward. It's so predictable. There's a lot of talent in this team, they just need a coach that can bring the best out of them. It's hard to watch especially when I know what they are capable of.
The improvement in this Ireland team is off the scale. Beating Australia a few weeks ago and now this epic win against NZ. Well done ladies. We are all so proud of you.
Congrats to Ireland. I watched the game and gave up at 33 minutes as I have never seen a more poorly prepared and performing Black ferns team . Their skill levels, fitness , conditioning and game plan were third rate. Once again congrats to Ireland. Just imagine what England and Canada are going to do to the Black ferns.
Can enny 1 tell wot these games are seem to be alot of womens rugby on lately is some tournament going on or something its not the womens world cup is it just curious
A well-deserved win for the ages by Ireland. Huge congrats. Bloody useless coaching from Bunting yet again. Playing willy nilly means our cleaners don't know whether to clean or run a support line. Several times, Holmes was stopped & jackalled. As for Sae, she's not a blindside. Stop trying to turn her into one. She has poor scrum defense, poor physicality, poor clean, & zero instincts for a 6. As for her selfish hold, when a simple pass to Joseph would've got a 7 pointer? Unbelievable. How the f*&k does this even happen? Chelsea showed she is by far our top lock, yet others have been preferred to now. She & Alana need to be at lock & blindside. We have midgets in the back row. Also Roos is a passenger these days, seems more committed to loose play than impacting in the tight. What a mess tactically the BFs are atm. Since Bunting took over. Nothing changes if nothing changes. We have the talent. Unfortunately, the coaches are useless.
The BFs look a lot less as a team than they do as individual players. It was the same against England a few weeks ago. I was at that match and England were well off the pace, but the BFs couldn't take the chances they were given, just the same as against Ireland.
Aoife Wafer's second try is a carbon copy of NZ's 1st try against England in WXV 2023 (38 mins ish of that game). Number 9 dummy off the back of the scrum, 8 breaks opposite direction. Guess they do not think others will play their plays against them.
@@ocodeskamcdbsm Ridiculous or not, the Ferns bought it and Ireland scored. If every team uses it, strange that those who do have not worked out how to counter it, but that too is probably a rediculous statement.
Imo the allblacks ain't too far off where they need to be. It's mostly poor discipline and stupid mistakes that cost them games. As for the black ferns...boot the coaching staff
@@ocodeskamcdbsmApologies. They were excellent. I aslo really like the additions of the ladies from the 7s programs. The flanker I forgot her name is huge and going to be a household name in both formats moving forward.
@@rodwellchigome7567 Aoife Wafer? She is turning out to be fantastic. The Irish team, playing and winning just proves if you put in the resources and finances and improve the home set up, the national team will improve.
@@ocodeskamcdbsm My apologues. It's Eve Higgins the centre. I saw her playing 7s this year. She's a mongrel, then popped up in the 15s game. I'm a massive fan of her game. I believe one of the wingers is also from 7s. Yeah, epic performance from you Irish lot. Bravo.
@@rodwellchigome7567 Higgins and Parsons are 2 players that move between the 7's and the 15's. I don't know why Parson's isn't played as much as in my eyes, she is a beast and a fast one
