Zambia has some serious athletes 🥶 But Ireland's attacking quality pulled them through. That's a big win and a great performance from the substitute Barrett. These two teams could be dark horses in the World Cup.
Really impressive display from Zambia. Hopefully, the WWC will showcase some of their players and get them playing in more elite competitions which will lift the quality of the national team significantly. Prediction: USA will not win the WWC due to the stagnation of the domestic league where virtually all the national team play. (is Horan the only Europe based player?)
Says you. Our USWNT have what none of the other nations heading to Oz and NZ have: pure grit. They don’t stop playing, they don’t stop defending and they don’t stop pushing forward. It’s been passed down from Era to Era, senior player to their junior understudy for almost 40 years. That’s the American way, my dude. Happy 4th of July.🇺🇸
@@kristi4113 And you don't think the other teams have grit and determination? That's a bit provincial and myopic, not to mention arrogant. But we'll see.
@@mahlonrhoades4509 The USWNT are not only the team with grit, as I said, they are also the ONLY team who has reached the semifinals of EVERY WWC, and have been in the Final of the last three tournaments. If excellence and true legacy are what you consider “arrogance”, then that’s on you.
@@kristi4113 As I was saying... One dimensional football. Relying on speed and fitness when everyone else is at the same level now. A bit sad that one can laugh after missing a penalty that could have kept them in the comp. Smith certainly didn't smile afterwards.
The eleven number player from zambia what a fast and power player she runs past the irish players like they don't exist Regardless of losing and not giving a clean hands ball to zambia they have interesting players and a good team Ireland had to push to the limit
How was a pen given to ROI and Zambia denied, Ref was a total joke. Zambian players and bench were too nice easily accepting any ref decision, they need to be more vocal and put pressure on the match officials. Barbra Banda should try and score but sometimes play for a penalty.
The Zambian girl had their hands/arms up in the air (deemed an 'un-natural' position). The Irish girl had her arms at her side and was moving her hands behind her back (deemed to be a 'natural' position). BTW I agree the current rules regarding hand ball are ridiculous.
Nice game for both Teams, Am proud of the fighting spirit Zambia, they'll rule Africa very soon, and for those of you saying they were denied of a penalty because they're black, please stop seeing things in that perspective, such thinking pattern always born out of a low self esteem.
These referees will never fail to amaze when there's any international sporting event that has color difference, otherwise even a completely blind knew that there was a penalty not given to the Zambian girls as rightly mentioned by the commentator.
Apparently, the "gay pride" numbers on the Irish jerseys are in appreciation of all the lesbians on their team. Remember when Ireland was Catholic? Ah, politics in sports.
Because of the political statement, back number in rainbow color, I can't give a thumbs up, only down, politics only harms every honest athlete! I also point out that Zambia refuses to disclose the transgender test of various PLAYERS, I urge every female player to be against it, in other sports it is escalating more and more, MMA transgender breaks woman's jaw, swimming, athlete complains to share a locker room with a female with a penis and is then threatened by ter activists in the hallway. Wake up. Wegen politischen Statement , Rücken Nummer in Regenbogen Farbe , kann ich keinen Daumen hoch geben, nur runter, Politik fügt jeden ehrlichen Sportler nur schaden zu !
