I'm so happy to see this video! I'm still learning everyday using this form of treatment. May I also suggest that action of other joints/muscle groups within the same fascial train at the same to facilitate the loosening of the neck. For example, try this sequence to increase rotation ROM of the cervical spine: 1) have your patient lie supine while you palpate and investigate the fascial adhesions along the scalenes, SCM, suboccipitals; 2) gently and only to the point the patient's discomfort not pain, rotate the head to the unaffected side, 3) ask patient to take a deep breath while you apply gentle pressure to the fascial adhesion or trigger point while you ask the patient to gently press her left or right hip into the table, making note of what released and/or if the patient increased ROM to that side; 4) if ROM/rotation was not increased, ask the patient to depress the opposite hip; if still no change ask the patient to depress the shoulder of the affected side then the unaffected side. You will be amazed at what you'll find. Namaste.
This is quite simply ischemic compression on an area of hypertonicity in muscle tissue. How is this fascial work. As we know from research, fascial does not react without sustained 3 dimensional tension
