Exactly. At the VERY least the outputs... Even the USB audio interface output is mono. If the engine of this thing is essentially the one from the MG-30, it is puzzling why the Amp Academy is $200 USD and the MG-30 is $300 and they don't have stereo output on the Academy

To clarify, I got Amp Academy expecting that it is mono, so my comments are more questioning NUX's product design strategy at such a close price point to the MG-30 I got the AA to replace a first generation SansAmp (Not even called the "Classic" yet) in an "Ampless" pedalboard. The signal chain up to that point was intended to be mono anyway, as I was trying to use the SansAmp as a clean headroom pedal platform. My rig signal chain was stereo post-SansAmp now it is stereo post-Amp Academy: FLAMMA FS05 Stereo Multi Mod pedal --> NUX DuoTime Stereo In/Out delay --> and a Flamma FS02 Stereo in/out Reverb. To your comment, I actually PREFER those (surprisingly high quality for the money) digital time based effects to be POST IR. The rig goes into a pair of TC Electronic BAM 200 Class D amplifiers, feeding a pair of Thiele Ported 1x12 cabinets loaded with vintage EVM-12L 200 watt speakers, and it sounds (by far) best with the IRs enabled in the Amp Academy. The rig also sounds good if I go from the reverb stereo outputs into a Full Range system. I chose those EVMs years ago for a rack based Roland GP-100 and Mesa Fifty Fifty rig with the understanding that they do NOT impart a huge coloration to the sound the way, say, greenbacks would. The GP-100 had cabinet simulations in the patches, but you could also set the GP-100 globally to tell it you are using a guitar cabinet and not a full range system, tell it what type of cabinet and size drivers you ARE using and the GP would do the math to try to make your cabinet reproduce the sound of the cab sim you selected in each patch. It worked really well, and suprisingly so for a device that came out in 1995. (Until the AxeFX III came out, there were two GP-100's in Robert Fripp's touring rack) I was pleasantly surprised to find out later on, that even using a modeler without intelligent cabinet sim scaling (whether analog like the Sans Amp, or digital like the Nux) the EVM-12Ls still present the sound gloriously especially when turned up. Turning the IRs off in the NUX through the rig sounds much more spiky and artificial and uninspiring. So I am pretty psyched with the Nux and the rig so far, and I have my stereo effects post IR which is more akin to what you would do in a real studio with a real amp / cab / microphone / recording desk / FX sends..

@@onionheadguy7094 The Mod pedal is cool, but a bit of a letdown in a couple of ways. the most annoying one is that there is a more than noticeable volume drop when you engage the pedal in the chorus algorithm. my Boss CE-2 (a japanese model from the 90's granted) does a much better job of keeping signal levels where they belong, although it is not stereo. I got around it by using the rotating speaker algorithm on super slow rate instead. The Flamma reverb is FANTASTIC however, and the DuoTime is excellent, simple to use and sounds great. easy to grab a knob for the delay subdivision for the left and right and tap out tempo and you are done. No menu digging etc.
