Absolutely superb! She has a real feeling for Rachmaninoff's music. I am currently dealing with the death of a longtime friend (more than 70 years!), and this piece feels appropriate for me at this time.
2:49 There's just something about this growing crescendo that blows me away every single time I listen to this piece. I envy Rachmaninov's understanding to create such a powerful and overwhelming moment and then pull in the reigns to create subtle and quiet beauty seemlessly. Fantastic performance as well!
@@IrinaLankovaOfficialChannel thank you Irina.. beautiful ! Rachmaninoff is a genius and we love him !!! Great Russia and great Russia artists !! Wishes from Italy , Varenna Como lake ..
I have never heard a more beautiful and emotional interpretation of this great Rachmaninoff prelude. When Irina plays the last high answering note as the piece is ending, her face shows all the feeling she has sustained throughout this stunning performance.
Wow. How she can control her music so beautifully while so obviously moved by it. Stunning. Inspiring (I played a Bach allemande after listening to this, of all things, and it came to life with the emotion from listening to this). If you find this overwhelmingly sad, try listening the next but one for recovery! Op.23 #6 is a very happy springtime piece, also enormously gratifying to listen to (and to and play)!
A friend showed me this a while back and I've listened so many times. Unbelievably strong expression, don't know how you do it! I feel so captivated around 3:40. The emotion on your face and the delicacy of your playing, of course combined with the beauty of the music, is like a great weight on the heart. Exquisite!!
Very well done Irirna!.. After listening to your interpretation, I revisited the versions by Lazar Berman, Sofronitzky and N. Lugansky, some of the Russian pianists I admire. You do know what you are doing and it's of a very high quality. I believe good old Sergey would be pleased with your performance. Thanks for the upload! Shared on Google+
Controversial and complex feelings that grow timidly, then they hide, then they grow, then they stop uncertain, then they grow.....and they grow strongly to come to light and shine but even if they don not fully reveal. I never played Rachmaninov but this prelude is just wonderfull and this intense and deep interpretation of great Irina Teacher, inspired me: I'm learning it with feeling and patience. We can not fully understand your feelings while you play the piano but I want to tell you that your performances make me dream while the heart and soul live moments of pure beauty. Thank you very much, Teacher.
Quality, quality and quality, Irina , you are reached space level... After your playing you understand everything is possible on this planet. Thank you beautiful lady, with love from New Jersey, USA.
There was a very slight smudging of one key. And, like a small blemish on the face of a supermodel, it doesn't detract from the beauty even a little bit.
This wonderfully inspired and at the same time perfectly controlled performance communicates the transcendental beauty of Rachmaninov's work with great eloquence, as it rises on waves of ever mounting passion and ecstasy, finally subsiding to a tranquil conclusion. Undoubtedly one of the finest interpretations of this exquisite Prelude.
I love this interpretation, you play with such deep colour and I love how the music always moves and pushes and pulls. I'm about to start this piece and this is how I aspire to play. Thank you!
As good as my favourite Svjatoslav Richter performer for this, my favourite Rachm. Prelude. In the past I played it daily & also everywhere I could. I saw the RU landscapes left for US but you never forget those landscapes feelings & All My Love I Left Behind. ... & your performance has all that Beauty & Love, Melody & Memory in it...Thank You Irina Lankova ....
I can listen to Irina's performance a thousand times and get goosebumps, leading me to tears! Thank you so much. I love this prelude and your interpretation!
@@IrinaLankovaOfficialChannel true artists really feel, not fake it! As a composer of contemporary classical music myself, I know how important is that! Thank you again!
This is the best interpretation of this work by Rachmaninoff I have ever encountered. Every single note is played with absolute passion and my heart melts straight away listening to this from start to end.
Bravo Irina. You and Lugansky break my heart and make me cry with these interpretations. This is the ultimate love piece. I may walk down the aisle to this if I ever get married.
There are not enough words to be able to describe my feelings. Irina, looking at you, watching the expression of you face like praying, and the motion of you fingers like a swan on the lake, I believe even Rachmaninov would've cried. God bless.
