When the lightning rod shiz goes both ways. Iris is barry's lightning rod and Barry is iris' lightning rod. Please they are the ultimate soulmate of the soulmates.
I hope the show goes deeper into Iris' connection to the speed force as well. Though she never becomes a speedster in the comics, her relationship with Barry gives her the SF which protects her and keeps her young looking like Barry.
@@jamesheymans8215 It didn't actually explain anything though. Instead they made it seem like it had something to do with Iris once being a speedster when the connection existed before that, as even this video demonstrates.
I like that you put the definition of lightning rod in this video. Many people think its just a cheesy line from the CW show but its actually a big concept in the comics. Speedsters rely on lightning rods to keep their identities no matter how far they time travel and helps them find their way back home if they get trapped in the speed force. Poor Bart never got that connection and needed up trapped for a long time. Valerie Perez might've been the closest he had but their relationship was too complicated.
This is the best couple in the DC universe no doubt about it... legit I cry every time they love each other and I can see that.. I literally cried watching this and the show..
And then all of a sudden Iris was made the speed force and gave Barry back his powers which literally made her his lightning rod 😂😂😂 they took that context to the extreme
Iris didn't make the speed force, she conducts it due to her connection to Barry. Also she was already his lightning rod since season 1. Hugging her was what jumpstarted his powers in the first episode.
@@pamelajohnson9214 I never said she made it lol I meant she was it, though obviously she really isn't it she is just barry's connection to it due to their bond. Also I meant that only now the team realized that, even though she might've been his lightning rod from season 1, they only now saw the connection as something that can be used to give barry back his powers.

Bro that last scene, or episode 3season7 was amazing. Idk why but it was so inspiring. Who knew (i mean at least not me) that irises would be the key to everything. Barry’s mind is still in the speed force-iris is gonna die is what brings him out. He lost his speed- Iris. I just live how strong they’re live is and no matter what they go through they will always be there for each other. And I love the lightning rod refrence, that like you are the one who keeps me grounded- like I just think that’s beautiful
What about the first time they see each other after he gets out of the coma? He shows no signs of the speed force until after they embrace and he has Iris touch his is heart to prove it was still beating.
