Iris Dement -- Easy's Getting Harder Every Day [REACTION/RATING] 

I hope you know by now that this song was written, and performed flawlessly, by Iris. If Iris doesn't knock your socks off, you probably don't have a pulse, and you definitely don't have a soul.

I was lucky to see her, front row, Birchmere, (DC) when this was new. All of us strangers were looking at each other......and we all just melted. At the end of the year review of best performances, 4 out of 5 critics all agreed it was the areas best concert of the year.

You are dead on. Her voice speaks to my heart. Her words pull at my soul.

First heard Iris with John Prine years ago. Been a fan ever since. This song goes so well with her unique voice.

Now that is a legit Blues tune. Iris presents the real deal by way of voice, spirit, lyrics and music. Pretty much nails coffin shut on this one.

Iris is up there with Emmylou as one of the prettiest voices in the history of the human race.

I would suggest her songs "Let The Mystery Be," "Our Town" or "My Life."

Iris's vulnerable, delicate vocals perfectly convey the emotional ups and downs of life and pull the listener deeper into those dramas. The lyrics here beautifully capture those emotions. This makes for a great listening experience. Another spot-on reaction/rating, Don, and keep rockin' dat country, dude.

I was so excited when I saw you were doing Iris Dement!! Not many people know of her (at least in my circles 🤷) but I fell in love with her in Songcatcher. Even the people I have introduced her to, say she's too twangy for their liking. I have never heard this song before, but totally agree that it's perfect! I love Iris Dement! She and her husband, folksinger Greg Brown, used to live a few blocks from me. She has the perfect “mountain music” voice. He song, The Wall in Washington, is a very poignant look at The Viet Nam War.

No one compares to Iris Dement. The only thing you can compare this song to is John Prine's Angel from Montgomery.
