She said this has taught her a lot, the translator was sooo wrong

Colombia, Philippines, Venezuela ... they all have surgery, in France they can't have surgery so Iris was the only one who truly deserved it

What Iris actually said in the first part of her answer was that when she tried to enter Medical school, she found out she was not in the list of selected students, and that same day she bought a new book of Medicine and she tried again until she was finally accepted in Medical school.

Awful live translation at 12:39! She's not talking about a casting, but about her competitive exam to enter medical school! And no, her name wasn't in a new book the following day... she said she went on and bought another book to study in the afternoon! Her final line isn't translated well either. She says that she had learned a lot when she thought she had failed entering medical school, but that finally her first attempt, which failed, had taught her a lot.

Iris is very smart. After the Q&A first round, her answer was long and no break, without letting the translator translate. But at the second round, she realised that; so she split her answer into short phrases, which made it easy and clear to be translated. Still the translator screwed up at the end because the bell might have made him nervous.

Why is no one talking about the fact that the translator litteraly butchered her answer ! When asked about the lesson she learned after failing she answered about how she thought she was not going to pass her first year of medical school (it is an extremely tough selection in France between 1st and 2nd year of med school) because her name was not even on the pre-selected list after the 1st semester. She then went out to buy another medical book, went back to work even harder and finaly made it to 2nd year (at the time, she was in her 4th year). It had nothing to do with a pageant or being at Miss Universe being a great opportunity !
