Excellent video- nice introduction to Irish fiddle ornamentations- the examples were very helpful- I would have never thought of practicing these on scales- great idea. Thank-you.
This is great! Thanks for the demonstration of each. It makes them very clear in my mind. Now, can you make tutorials and give sheet music for some folk or Irish songs?? Please😁 Thank you, God bless you!
Excellent lesson. Of course going from making the triplet then playing it faster and to obtain that gritty sound is the misterioso part , for me anyway
Great lesson. 👏👏👏 I'm remember something you did a while back and I heard a few notes here and there of dance monkey and I was SO excited. Maybe it was a Live question-and-answer I can't really remember right now. All your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. you really try to help us Julia 🎻🎻🎻
Thanks Julia for so much dedication..you don't know how much it helps us in our playing..yes I would like some tips on double stops..the fingered one..I'm actually learning it..but it's quite difficult
New violin player here (3-4 weeks) this is very helpful and thank you for your expertise. Not new to music as I am a flamenco guitar player for decades, these subtle embellishments are also used a lot in guitar music, my finger speed is fine, my intonation needs a lot of work because I’m used to frets, and I haven’t managed to get out of first position yet, and my bow bounces too much on the draw, but it’s getting better. I’m finding the intonation harder on D minor than E minor scale, but I am loving the 7 semitone separation between the strings. This was such a helpful video. God bless you.
The sharpened to me a lot in the beginning. Try to lessen the bow tension. a little. Also, take a break and try again. Being nervous always increases this phenomena for me.
So happy you like the video. Keep practicing your scales. The D minor will come. And yes, try loosening the bow hair a little that may help with the bounce. Or applying a bit more pressure on the draw.
Hi Julia! I just love this tutorial! Would you be able to list the tunes you sampled? I loved all of them. I know King of the Fairies and Amazing Grace. What were the others??
